A soviet time huge concert and ice hall, now abandoned. A few in-house guided tours still available from time to time. Have seen several musical shows here before closing in 2000s and have only good memories. Yet, the leaking ceilings have made this near 4600+ seat stage unusable and ice field completely closed for the danger. Lots of paid parking places next to the building.

Located a short walk away from Tallinn old town, this place used to be a 5000 seater stadium built for the Moscow Olympics, but has since been abandoned. If you're a fan of abandoned places and Soviet history, it's quite an experience to just walk along the plaza, climb the stairs and take in the sights. Don't expect explanation like museums here, but instead let your imagination guide you. We were lucky enough to be able to enter this place as there was an art exhibition when we visited in August 2023, catching an exclusive glimpse into the interior of this stadium. The place is usually closed off to visitors otherwise. If you want something different, coupled with a scenic view, this place is worth a visit.

Covered in snow it‘s a beautiful view. One point off because going down the stairs on ice was quite the adventure. Sunset was nice, views of city, waterfront and harbor really cool!

Judging by the other reviews, I was only expecting a historical, abandoned place where I could enjoy a beer with an eerie vibe. But what a building! It's huge, and the decision to leave the place to the elements certainly adds to the atmosphere. It's beautiful, in a strange way. Lots to explore, whole other view to the rest of Tallinn. I'm happy I stopped there before leaving the city.

A striking architectural object, where you can breathe the air of freedom on the remains of a bygone era. A unique blue feeling. 30 years later - an atmospheric place for lovers of silence and abandoned places. Astonishing view of the city. The Cityhall received architectural prize and medal in the 1980s. The acoustics of the hall were excellent, like nowhere else in Estonia or Tallinn. The object is worth visiting for tourist who are strangers to the Soviet era, but also for non-strangers who want to feel the past and present in one place. You can only enter the interior of the premises with a guided tour. But the exterior is free for visiting.

This place is historical and awesome. Must go! Key scenes for Christopher Nolan's TENET were filmed there. A quater of this place is still operational and functioning. A conference center is planned there but at the moment it is too costly for upkeep! Licence to restore has been given! 😊

As a person who doesn’t have any nostalgic memories about this place, I can say that it’s not a “must see” location in Tallinn, also it may be interesting for those who like abandoned places and are hyped up about soviet past This place now seems abandoned, but some parts of it are functional and people are using it for business reasons. But a regular visitor won’t be allowed to go to that part. You have fence in parts that you should not cross, even tho in some places the fence is broken I assume you have a good view on a sunset here, but during the day you can still see the sea. You have a view of a new fancy port neighbourhood on the left I think this place has a potential and needs huge renovation, so it can be transformed into a cool modern port area, with restaurants and bars, maybe a little park instead of that concrete leftovers that we can see on the right side of it Overall, I can say that I liked walking there, but it wasn’t something special, so I won’t return there without a serious reason

▶️ Summer Olympics in 1980, sailing competitions were held in Soviet Estonia. 👉 Linnahall, originally called the “V. I. Lenin Palace of Culture and Sport,” is a crazy complex designed to host the Olympic sailing regatta. Today, everything is closed and abandoned. ▶️ Bonus information 💥 The location by the sea and the flat roofs made it a perfect spot for tanks or cannons to cover the whole bay of Tallinn, in case the “evil” enemies would want to conquer the city 😀

Worth a visit. Before or after the visit, search google fort this building to find more info and pictures and videos how it was built and how it used to look from inside. Very interesting.

Of course closed. But seemsike a local place for drinking with a great view on the bay and the see. Worth going as well with the car (possible to enter) just for views, or to small beach on the right. Possible to go inside, and check this abbandend building. Interesting landscape. Recommend, close by there is a gas station, grab beers from there and go up to sit at the stairs with view to the sea, recommend!

Interesting place to go and see. We were there when it was open to look around at some of the inside. Sadly you didn't get to see the concert hall, just the open areas and cloakroom areas. Would have loved to see the concert hall though. Shame. Worth a look before it's destroyed and redeveloped.

Very interesting place, I got to enter the building to check out an exhibition, normally you can just see it from the outside. It has a very ugly brutalist architectural design, but an interesting piece of history nonetheless.

Tallinn has more beautiful places than this one. If you are living in Tallinn, then you can spend some time here. The view from the top is good. But the place is a little bit dirty. Be careful about the broken pieces of glass

Amazing for sunset and such an interesting building. Sad it is in such disrepair, but still so beautiful. Cool views of the coastline and city.

One of the few remnants of Soviet times. Even from a distance, the complex makes you feel that Estonia was part of the Russian Empire. Especially the obsession with size and monumentality. It is a unique building worth visiting. If you are a fan of brutalism, you will love it. Unfortunately, no one has taken care of the building for a long time. From my point of view, it's a shame, it deserves it. Only the outside is accessible. Unfortunately, the inside is not accessible on a daily basis.

Very large brutalist architecture from c.1980. Looking derelect but people are freely able to walk around it (with some restrictions). Hope to go on an architectural tour to see the enormous theatre inside. Have visited Linnehall several times over past 5 years and observed it going further into decay but it seems to have some life left in it and I expect one day it will be renovated.

Very odd but wierdly great. Sunset was good from here watching it go down over the old town

Love a derelict building! Would love to have been able to get inside but the sign threatening to shoot people was a bit of a deterrent! We walked round the side and the gate was open to get into the middle where the administration entrance was. Not sure if it's always open or we were just lucky. There were lights on inside the building so guessing someone was in there. No one came out and said anything to us though. I think it's worth a quick visit but it's probably a matter of opinion.

Magnificent building. Even in that state. Cool view to the sea. Some decent graffiti. Nice place to have picnic in warm summer day. Maybe not so nice at night though :)

An scenic and gorgeous Soviet building worth the visit, and where you can take beautiful photos for your Instagram.

Linnahall has a great view on the sea as well as on the City of Tallinn.

As ruined, abandoned Soviet buildings go, this one is pretty typical. Vast quantities of poorly constructed concrete, dilapidated decor, and disintegrating walls covered in graffiti. I understand this site will be redeveloped soon and that will be both a huge loss and a huge gain for Talinn. Despite trying, we weren’t able to get inside this. From the outside, it’s still worth a look, and you get great views over the city from the top.

Good place for city views. Also good to pause a little bit and enjoy the sea view. Not possible to enter, for security reasons.

So cool, never seen anything quite like it. Yes - it's run down and in disrepair, but that just makes it more interesting. You can actually drive your car around the whole thing too. There's a spot on the east side where hardy Estonians like to swim in the sea in the middle of winter :D

In this case, i think graffiti is an improvement to a building . We couldn't figure out how to get inside to see where the movie tenet was filmed, everything is blocked off using crowd control fencing. Would love to sit down with the architect and discuss the design. Its like a big double sided staircase ramp with huge flat areas on top. Interesting place to visit, but even the graffiti looks abandoned.

The view outsode is very nice, but it' also very windy. Inside is very interesting, a lot of history and exploring.

I was here in spring, temperature is 2 or 3 degrees outside, I saw people bathing in the sea

This building is in my personal top 1 list. If I were a supervillain, I'd build an exact copy of it on a remote island and live there. It's enormous but there's not a single place on the ground that makes you realize its size. It's brutal, yet it contains a lot of fine details. It's sad that it's sitting there deteriorating. I'd love to see it inside someday, right now I can only rewatch the Tenet movie (great choice for a shooting location Mr Nolan)

A nice place to view the sea from a little higher part of Tallinn, although to me it is nothing that spectacular. Building is old but it has its own charm. Beware of plenty of glass shards around the floor on the way up.

Enormous piece of soviet history and architecture just left abandoned, I recommend visiting if you find the soviet past interesting, unfortunately the inside is blocked off.

Do you like abandoned ruins of decadent brutalist buildings? Well you’ve come to the right place. Sadly you can no longer get inside, but the outside is still magnificent. Spent a while wandering and taking pics of this fabulous monstrosity. It was last used in 2009 apparently, but has now fallen into disrepair. So be careful as there are damaged stairs, broken glass, and teetering blocks of concrete. Go gingerly and don’t rush around or you could easily hurt yourself. Would be nice if this place was restored. What a building!

Intersting monument out of another time. Would be interesting, also to have a look in the inside which is not possible. But you have a nice view to harbour side. Take something to drink with you and enjoy

Interesting piece of architecture at the shores of Tallinn. Great place to see the sunrise. The condition is pretty bad but still can be visited.

This place is one of the best place in Tallinn for sightseeing and enjoying the sunset. It was a big concert hall but after they closed its just a big abandoned place from inside but outside theres alot of places where to lay down and look the sea. They also have a boat there which is going to a small island every day.

Haven't been inside, but you can get a really nice sunset view from the top.
