Himes Breakfast House

Restaurant Breakfast restaurant

👍👍 First time at Himes and the waitress was great and very informative. We got the fried fish, grits, scrambled eggs, and sausage gravy. Instead of biscuits we were able to trade out for a slice of French toast. The restaurant is bright, clean and welcoming. People often mention breakfast, service, good, grits, eggs, great,

I was in the area briefly and was looking for a spot for breakfast. I did a quick search and this place came up. I'm so glad I came here because the service was great. I was seated right away. The food came out quickly and fresh. Coffee was good. I only hope I can come back some day to try their other items on their menu. I'm sure it's good.

My review reflects a few factors: quality of food, service, and atmosphere. The location itself was tucked away in south Tampa. Service was great and I found no issues with the atmosphere. Food was inexpensive for the generous portions. All that being said, I ordered the pork belly eggs Benedict, loaded grits, and a biscuit. The eggs Benedict was *okay*. Flavorful, but I wouldn’t say “delicious.” The biscuit was mediocre. Balancing these factors, I’m giving it an average score. I’ll update in the future if I have other items down the road.

Wonderful experience at Himes Breakfast House! The service was quick and efficient but still friendly. Food was absolutely delicious and definitely made our list of top 3 breakfast spots in Tampa.

Best Breakfast Place in Tampa! Their scramble eggs aren’t over cooked and it’s perfect cooked. The patties and bread is perfectly cooked. The service is very friendly and welcoming! There’s a lot of seats, but I can see this place can be packed in the weekend! Highly recommend you coming here for breakfast and brunch!

Had the lumberjack and loaded grits. The grits, they’re going to be a part of my dreams tonight. The lumberjack was really good. It’s a good thing I’m not Jewish because there was enough pork to fill of lifetime of sins.

If I could give the service 10 stars I would! Our server was amazing, as well as the other servers that would walk past the table, they were so playful with my son. The food was A+. The amount of food you get for the price is great. I really appreciated how clean the restaurant was. We will 100% be returning!

Husband and I had an awesome Sunday breakfast. The restaurant is very busy even first thing in the morning but the service was fast, the food was tasty, the prices affordable and our waitress, Angel, was lovely. I will be recommending to friends and family.

This place has a great breakfast atmosphere and is nice and clean. This has become our go-to spot for breakfast in South Tampa. However, it's loud. It's a normal volume patron conversation, but it must be the acoustics of the room.

Great location, food, and service. Pricing is very competitive for the area, and the staff and Restraunt have a fantastic mom n pop vibe.

Tried this place while we were in town and it was pretty good! I got the Basic Benny (eggs Benedict) and my husband got the crunch toast; we split a half side of biscuits and gravy. I thought the eggs Benedict was perfect and they have a vanilla espresso maple syrup that is absolutely amazing. I found the gravy to be a bit too salty for my liking but my husband's French toast was so good! The atmosphere is pleasant but I gave it 3 stars because it was super loud and we could barely hear each other at times. The service was prompt and pleasant. Food came out quickly which was awesome because we were starving. We left right after eating though because of the noise level. People around us were really enjoying their breakfast out! If I was in the area I would definitely eat here again.

This place was cute, long lines but the food was worth it. The grits were so good and flavorful. My favorite breakfast no matter what city or state I am in is Egg's Benedict. I'll never say no to you if you tell me a joint has this. The eggs Benny was good, they used bacon instead of ham and it was crispy maybe a little burnt but I ate it anyway. The sausage was not to shabby and their French toast with their coffee maple syrup was tasty. Definitely try it. Our server was friendly as well. Overall, really liked it here and will be back again for some grits. Come try it and see if you like it as well.

The food and service here was excellent. We ordered the French toast and the country fried steaks. I’ve stopped expecting much out of breakfast places but everything here was so fresh and had awesome flavor. We loved the coffee syrup! The home fries had a great flavor. The country fried steak was really tender ! Thank you!

We were in Tampa for the weekend and we like to find local breakfast spots when we travel. We were not disappointed by Himes Breakfast House! I had the Lumberjack bowl. The gravy was DELICIOUS. My husband had the catfish breakfast. Lightly breaded fish & the eggs were cooked perfectly. He also had the loaded grits which reminded me of the city grits at Another Broken Egg, but better. Our server was very sweet & made sure we had everything we needed. Also, the sweet tea was good. Not brown sweet water…tasted like tea.
