At least I didn’t set any expectations cause they would be destroyed in a single dinner sitting. Where do I start??? The food I claimed from our waiter was not cooked correctly. There a difference between medium-rare and well done. The waiter couldn’t grasp that I wanted 2 sides. Had to dumb it down. He had to read the specials from a note pad. He couldn’t remember who order what in the 4 of us not that he literally just took my tea and brought back and asked who this belonged to. For the price we paid, my car payment, it should have been a dining experience and not the disaster it turned into. The air must have been broke as well as it was cooler outside then at our table and it was like 90 outdoors. Oh well. It was eventful, but not a positive way. For sure never going back!

Very pretty restaurant, polite & friendly staff. Very courteous and everyone seemed eager to speak or smile at you. Which is always nice. I enjoyed the ambiance, I thought the menu had many great things to choose from. I went with the chips and queso for a starter, which turned out fabulous. Full of flavor. My husband had a much larger appetite today, so he picked the 16 oz prime rib cooked medium rare served with a side of smashed potatoes. Both came out beautifully. He also ordered a side of fries which were both crispy and salted nicely. He barely touched his Caesar salad, but it looked pretty large and nicely dressed. I picked the rotisserie chicken Cobb salad. It had a ton of blue cheese crumbles, I loved that. Lots of bacon, avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, and very tasty tangy dressing. I loved it. Would highly recommend trying this place for a filling, and fabulous meal.

Great food and awesome experience! Our server was Jack and he made us excited about the entire menu. We had the special, the 22 oz Cowboy with NYO mac and cheese, and the smoked salmon dip. All delicious, we cleaned our plates AND even got to take my bone for my pup at home. =)

Good service provided today from server in training. Ordered steaks medium rare but they were cooked more on the medium side. Smashed potatoes, crab cake and salad were ok. Drink cocktails were good. Manager came to table to check on us at the end which was appreciated. Food was not tasty enough to make me want to return.

I sat outside. The weather was great in Tampa FL. Their food is seasoned and so delicious. I got the fish of the day...Corvina fish which is something like a sea bass...cooked to perfection with a jalapeno sauce...AMAZING. The grilled artichoke was EVERYTHING! We ordered the crab cake appetizer and the shi tuna salad. The adult beverages were well mixed as well. To make it all worth it, the service was outstanding. Definitely going back. Hoping for the same experience when I return to Georgia.

Always enjoy this place. Outstanding food, had the southern fried chicken. There was enough for 2 or 3 meals. Friend has the Thai salad, it's delicious. Wasn't a huge fan of the fire grilled artichokes but they were nicely grilled and the sauce of was good, probably just a personal preference. Service was too notch. Would definitely recommend.

I had a really good anniversary dinner with my wife. She had the Maui steak and I had the ribs, both were awesome. The Mac and cheese was really nice, however the carrot cake desert was pure decadence! We enjoyed our night the drinks were great. I would definitely recommend.

Was in Tampa for the night and wanted to get out of the hotel for the night. Without a reservation, we had a 25 minute wait on a Saturday night. Service was pleasant and efficient, checking in with us and keeping our waters refilled. Ordered the artichokes because that's what the reviews raved about. Now as someone who's never eaten am artichoke, save the pureed typed found in dip, I found them to be wasteful. Comparing the amount that was actually edible with the hard, chewy, thick layers that ended up being tossed away, I definitely wasn't worth it to me. The small part I did eat wasn't anything to write home about. But again, that's my inexperienced opinion. The ribeye was good, if you like a sweet marinade and was prepared to temp as requested. I wasn't thrilled with the chunky tasteless mashed potatoes; they seemed scared of butter, salt and pepper. Ribs were falling off the bone and were super tasty. Shoestring fries were authentic and well seasoned. Though the reviews steered us wrong with the appetizer, the warm carrot cake was spot on. Enough to share for 2, it was moist, nutty and filled with deliciousness.

Visited J. Alexander’s today and sat at the bar. I ordered a medium cooked steak burger with cheese only. It came out with onions on it but since it hadn’t impacted the taste, I didn’t complain however the burger was a little over cooked as well. The bartender never came to check on me until I was finished and he noticed the onions. Wish he had paid attention to me a little more and that the burger was cooked better however overall burger was a little better than average and the atmosphere was pretty nice for the prices so would give a 4/5 stars. Hopefully training with the bartender and the kitchen staff will help others have a better experience.

We went for a family members dinner. The place was nice and clean, good atmosphere. The server was nice, but forgot our drink orders multiple times. The drinks were good. The food: absolutely mediocre. We had a party of 7 and all of us agreed the food was dry and bland. I had a steak burger that was grossly over cooked (ordered medium) and the bread was dry and chewy. Other than that it just had an onion and cheese. No flavor at all. One in our party got a rack of ribs that was so dry it was inedible and had a bad smell. Plus almost no meat on the bones. One had the steak, also couldn’t say much about it other than average. Ahi tuna salad: smallest portion of tuna we’ve ever seen for an entree. Only decent food was the calamari and that was likely due to being doused in sauce. For the prices here they need a new chef asap. Pretty disappointed and will not be back.

I dined at J. Alexander, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. For appetizers, we had the steak rolls. It’s an egg roll with steak and cheese. Sort of reminded me of a Philly cheesesteak. It was really flavorful! For our entrees, I ordered the filet mignon, and it was cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavor. My husband went for the steak Maui, and he couldn't stop raving about it. Our son had the prime rib and thoroughly enjoyed it. For dessert, we tried the pumpkin cheesecake, which was delightfully sweet and a perfect ending to our meal. To complement our dinner, I sipped on the doppelgänger cocktail, which was indeed yummy and balanced. Nate, our server, truly stood out. He was cool, incredibly helpful, and attentive throughout our meal, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. We will definitely be returning to J. Alexander for another memorable meal.

This place is renamed. Not sure if I was getting the J. Alexander experience. I really wanted to dine at J. Alexander. I heard so much good things, but I’ll carry on to say that it wasn’t bad at all. The server was nice, the food came faster than I expected and it was good too. I must say that I was disappointed that I couldn’t get dessert. A sweet treat to end the night is an essential part of my dining experience. I was told that the key lime pie was not set enough. My mouth was watering with the thoughts of dessert. That really knocked a star off this review for me. *That Mac and cheese was sooooo good!

We went for lunch on a Sunday so it wasn't crowded. The atmosphere is nice and fancy. I had the French dip which was very tasty, but I realized after I ate it that they didn't give me the horseradish sauce. The Mac and cheese was outstanding. My lunch partner ordered trout that was supposed to come with a sauce too and was without. My mom had a swordfish sandwich that she said was delicious. The warm carrot cake that we all split for dessert was fantastic.

Beautiful restaurant. Simple and classy. Our waitress was so nice and respectful. She spoke so soft and kindly. She offered suggestions when I asked since it was my first time there.

This has been my favorite restaurant for years and is a half hour from my home - totally worth the drive! Food is excellent and beautiful with soups usually being exquisite. The warm carrot cake is the best I've had in my life. The service is top notch, always, which is amazing so they must require servers to be well trained in super customer service. We liked it so much we gave a $100 gift certificate to our daughter & her husband for their upcoming anniversary dinner and we usually don't give anniversary presents - they also LOVED the food and service. Plenty of free parking, right off the highway, comfy darker atmosphere (romantic), and window booths available up on a higher level around 2 sides. Never went to the bar there but it is probably awesome. I even like there is such excellent service as you enter the door with more than 1 person to take care of you - 1 stays up front and immediately there is another person appearing to walk you to your seat. Apparently there are some other locations including Pennsylvania and elsewhere in Florida. Their old name was J.Alexanders but the newer name is Redland's Grill - I totally recommend it! Another fabulous meal! Rib dinner and parmesan crusted trout excellent. Pasta and chicken soup outstanding. Carrot cake served warm is best we've ever had, same for the toasted almond drink- est ever! Service flawless!

Our party of 4 was more than impressed with our experience here. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left - perfection. The salmon, steak, French dip, drinks and carrot cake were all incredible! Our waitor was amazing as well. Kudos to management 👏

My recent dining experience at J. Alexander's Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped inside, the inviting ambiance and attentive staff set the stage for a memorable evening. The menu's diverse offerings cater to a range of tastes, and my choice of the "Wood-Grilled Salmon" was a delightful treat. The impeccable service, coupled with a well-curated wine list, elevated the experience. Capping it all off was the heavenly "Carrot Cake" dessert, leaving me with a strong desire to return and savor more of what J. Alexander's has to offer.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at J. Alexander Restaurant in Tampa, and I must say, the experience was quite enjoyable. The restaurant itself has an inviting atmosphere with its appealing decor and cozy seating arrangements. One thing worth mentioning is their policy of having a single bill rule when dining with a group of five or more. While this may not be ideal for everyone, it does streamline the process of settling the bill at the end of the meal. The service was generally prompt, as our food arrived quickly after ordering. However, there was a slight hiccup with our drink order. We had ordered beers, but unfortunately, they were forgotten by the staff. Thankfully, we had water to quench our thirst in the meantime. Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food. I must say, the culinary experience at J. Alexander was exceptional. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and each dish we ordered was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. From the appetizers to the main course, every bite was a delight. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients were evident in each dish we tried. Overall, despite the minor setback with the forgotten drink order, my dinner experience at J. Alexander Restaurant was fantastic. The delicious food more than made up for it, leaving a lasting impression. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Tampa.

I don’t typically frequent chains much less do I review them, but seriously…grilled artichoke appetizer, damn. As someone who cooks my own artichokes, these were really good. We also had the pork tenderloin (literally was what appeared to be a whole tenderloin) and the salmon ginger glazed entree. Broccoli was cooked perfectly and was great. Awesome service and a great meal.

Brad runs a tight ship here. We had such a wonderful experience here. This truly is an outstanding establishment. Alex was so courteous and he went above and beyond. This is the best steak house/ restaurant in Tampa thus far by far. Such beautiful atmosphere and decor of the restaurant and the staff are all working so hard to entertain the guests. We are now planning our next trip to come back out here again next month and we definitely are excited to return thank you Brad and Alex for treating us so well and giving us an experience that we really needed today badly. It is my fiancé‘s birthday and you made her birthday The best in the past six years that we’ve been together. Once again, thank you so much.

From the moment we walk in the door, we were very impressed with everything that we saw. When we sat down, the waiter was very quick to take care of us. There were some great selections on the menu and he made some awesome suggestions. Throughout our meal the manager, Brad, had stopped by our table at least two or three times to check up on us to make sure our meal was outstanding. Brad was very polite and very professional, and he showed us that he truly cared about taking care of his customers. Thanks to Brad and the staff we will be returning again to this excellent experience. Thank you Brad!

Great experience, great service, and food. We always stop and eat a J Alexander's when we are on vacation, and they never disappoint. Missed some photos of the man meal but the devil eggs and mex chips and queso was a great starter.

This is actually one of my favorite restaurants in Tampa. I’ve been coming here for years. They have the best calamari in the city! Everything I’ve ever eaten here has been outstanding and they give very generous portions. Only thing I wish is that they would put the calamari, and both versions of the egg rolls on the everyday menu instead of on “Today’s Specials” so they’re always available to order. But, 5 stars anyway because I really love this restaurant.

It was our first time at J Alexander’s and will certainly be back. We had a wait so we had a drink at the bar. Ryan greeted us immediately, my dirty martini was perfect. Our server was Scott who was knowledgeable and friendly. I had the filet Mignon with the orzo and wild rice. My steak was cooked perfect and the orzo and wild rice exceeded my expectations. We also had the prime rib which was amazing. The carrot cake was one of the best dessert I’ve had, super moist and delicious. My only negative complaint is it was kind warm in the restaurant other than that everything else was great.

Food was petty good, steaks were cooked as requested, salmon was tender and had good flavor. Broccoli could've been cooked a little more but artichoke appetizer and deviled eggs were yummy. Drinks were good as well. Service was very good. We will definitely be back. The carrot cake dessert was delicious! Chocolate dessert was okay.

Service is great. Staff is great. The food is get-what-you-pay-for quality. It’s great for burgers and ribs and things like that. Steak is ok, side salad was hurting as was the broccoli. Love the staff though. Hate rating anything below 4 or 5 stars but this is a good solid 3.5 star place and very affordable.

Always a great time at J Alexander’s. The food is great. The service is very good. We went for an early dinner today for the best soup they serve on Wednesday’s. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The carrot cake is unbelievable. The best you’ll ever have. I highly recommend it.

I had a reservation and was seated immediately. There was several celebrations happening including my own but service was still quick and efficient. There was also a server who was kind enough to take my pictures outside. Had spinach dip for starters which was good. For entree, I had the salmon which was seasoned well and not dry. The margarita was made to my liking. I had a great evening

I have been dining at JAlexanders for at least 10 years and I eat there at least once a week. It NEVER disappoints. I am a huge fan of its chicken pasta soup, fried shrimp, sourdough bread, crab cakes, burgers and so many of their entrees. Their carrot cake is THE ABSOLUTE BEST I have ever had! Luv this place!

I was excited to see J Alexander's was in Tampa only to arrive and see that it had been renamed. Our server was exceptional and attentive. My steak was overcooked and bland, but the Mac n Cheese did not disappoint. The queso was a nice touch for our appetizers.
