Staying 12/17 to 12/24 2022. The first bad review is for the free continental breakfast. On our first attempt we got to breakfast at 830 and barely anything was left. The following day we got up earlier and still barely any items. The next day we were told by the attendant that they didn’t receive the breakfast delivery and they couldn’t help not having the full breakfast. We partially chose this hotel for the free breakfast instead of a slightly more expensive hotel that didn’t include breakfast. The second review is for the cleanliness. On Sunday morning at 830 we alerted staff that someone had thrown up outside our door. We were told it would be taken care of. As of right now as I write this review it’s Thursday and the vomit is still outside our door. Absolutely disgusting. The third review is for the lack of hair dryer in the room even though room details state there is one. I always check this before I go to a hotel so I know if I need to pack one or not. I ended up having to buy one at a local drug store. When I asked the front desk about the hair dryer I was told I don’t know anything about hair dryers being in the rooms. Would not stay here again or recommend.

Do not recommend! I would not stay here.. Me and my family came in today and the lobby was nice as well as the front desk guy but the area this motel was at is horrendous. Very strange people around and as soon as we walked into the assigned room it smelled like straight up cigarette smoke and marijuana. The other room smelled like a fish tank.. disgusting! Got a refund immediately, thank goodness.

Its very nice hotel located at Tampa City. Good for family, travellers, offers good breakfast. Staff is good, good service, warm pool available from 08am to 10pm. Fair price. Offers laundry service (paid separately).

I recently stayed at the South Tampa Motel and was pleasantly surprised by the well-kept and renovated appearance. The cleanliness of the facilities stood out, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The modern upgrades added a trendy touch, creating a positive overall experience. Highly recommend for a convenient and stylish stay! The staff was friendly, and the location was ok as well.

Budget Hotel that's working to change their appeal. Super friendly service from Indian girl at desk. Room definitely can use some up keep. The door looks like it's been kicked in prior. I do appreciate the big softglow vanity mirror and the hotel's toiletries items. Great restaurants nearby. (District South & Kitchen)

This was the worst place we ever stayed at. Toilet broken. Blood on sheets. ROACHES!!!!!!! Breakfast was left a lot to be desired. Barely anything there and staff was not keeping up with the demand. If this was supposed to be smoke free, well that was not true. We woke up and walked to breakfast in a cloud of Pot. Didn’t need our kids smelling that or being exposed to it. Yes we were given a different room with a working toilet, but the roaches did it in for us and made us check out 3 days early. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else with better reviews that is clean and won’t make you check out early.

From the front desk clerk to breakfast assistance everyone was awesome. The kids enjoyed the pool and the entire stay. Staff was very personal including the manager during breakfast. I would highly recommend them. Thanks for your service!

Pleasantly surprised as it used to be a holiday on and that’s a Tampa native I had not yet been here and all the years since it was taken over by the south Tampa inn and lodge! When I went into the front office I was greeted by the most charismatic friendly and welcoming gentleman HARREEM! Took in the view Nice lighting at night and the rooms were literally clean and they are environmentally friendly! Would definitely recommend and they have a free breakfast buffet with everything imaginable! Great place if you don’t want to break the budget and still enjoy great amenities and a wonderful ambience and people!

So far so good! An old hotel but pretty clean and very friendly staff. Rooms are big and partly renovated. I couldn't find hairdryer in my room and front desk staff brought it to me. They have heated pool and area around was clean. Looks like hotel management cares about their customers. Very simple breakfast but you can always find something for yourself. Good price/quality.

Very clean hotel. Rooms were nice. A/C worked well. Stayed NYE 23. About 4.5 miles from Raymond James Stadium. Only issue, carpet was sticky feeling in area's. lobby, property, pool area were all clean. Morning on departure. Employees cleaning the grounds and pool area. Breakfast was good. Hot food eggs, croissants, pancakes, sausage ect. Dining area was very clean and stocked. Lady working breakfast was very fun and taking great care of the area and guests. This is a hidden gem. Would recommend staying.

I stayed at this particular hotel for one night last week. (as opposed to going to a hurricane shelter) The front desk staff were all friendly, professional, and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that they advertise a "hot pancake breakfast". However, the pancake machine was broken the morning I was there. Overall, a pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again if the need ever arises.

Let me start off by saying the customer service at this location was great. Upon check in, we were welcomed with a smile. One night we needed something and Dymmy went above and beyond to help us! We were so grateful for that. The rooms were just okay. When we first walked into our room, there was a weird wet smell. We got used to it after a while. I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and there were two live roaches running out when I turned on the light. I also saw another dead roach behind the toilet when I was in the shower. The shower floor was also quite sticky. The hotel was quiet and comfortable for the most part. Just solve the pest, smell and deeper cleaning issue and everything would be perfect for the price!

We loved the place from the moment we walked in. The staff are excellent. Loved the breakfast and the cleanliness. Everything was perfect for us. They even provided us a crib for the baby which made our stay so much easier.

This is a motel style hotel with large very clean and comfortable rooms. We stayed one night before a cruise and it was just what we needed, We arrived late and asked for an extended check out time, which was quickly and happily granted. We will certainly stay here again!

This hotel met our needs. The bed was comfortable, check in was fast and it was clean and well maintained. I recommend it and would stay again .

The hotel was perfectly located for my needs. The staff was very friendly during check-in and check-out. The room was updated and extremely clean. We even saw the housekeeping staff wiping down the window sills outside of the room. The room has a nice walk-in shower, no tub. They offered a free breakfast but I wasn't able to sample it as the hotel was fully booked so the breakfast was too crowded. It would be helpful to extend the breakfast hours to accommodate all the guests. Overall, we had a great stay and I would recommend this hotel.

This place is a hidden gem in Tampa. The rooms are huge and have all of the necessary amenities. Breakfast is very inclusive of all choices of things to eat. I leave pleased with each and every stay. Dymmy was very helpful and pleasant.

The bed sheets were very dirty. The kitchen sink was not accessible because of the weird room design and there was lots of noise outside. The receptionist lady in the morning was very inconsiderate and loud. The house keeping lady knocked very hard on the door in early morning and woke us up when we were super tired. I do not recommend this hotel!

The service from the front desk to housekeeping was great, the beds were super constable, athe daily breakfast was satisfactory but could use a little more variety. The grounds are well manicured. Thanks for making our stay comfortable.

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at and I've been staying at hotels for 30 years. Room is large clean and well laid out. Coffee machine good size refrigerator soap shampoo all first class and a nice touch. The best part is the staff they are friendly helpful and try as hard as they can to make me comfortable and meet my needs if I could live here I would LOL. The breakfast buffet is very good and once again the service is five star

This hotel was perfect for the price. Nothing fancy but it was clean, older but comfortable bed, and the staff was so friendly! For just sleeping and getting ready for the day, Hotel South Tampa was just what we needed. The breakfast was incredibly basic but it did the trick, I'm not a big breakfast person anyway. Never used the pool but it looked nice and clean, apparently it was heated but did not try it. I would stay here again

Keep in mind this is a low budget motel. I've stayed in many remodeled motels before, but never one where the rooms were this clean/new, the grounds were immaculate and the staff this friendly. Kudos!

Wouldn't even give 1 star. Left my bag by mistake.which hasn't come yet. Refused to ship it even after receiving label. Terrible communication. They don't notify you of anything. So you best be sure your lost items there.. Terribly rude & disgusting staff along w the owner himself. one employee was kind enough to help but forced her to stay off case so didn hear from her again. Front desk receptionist instead of helping, explaining, hangs up calls. So you can see where they get it from so don't expect customer service. If you leave your belongings dont expect the help you deserve. These ppl will hang up on your face and tell you that it's "your" problem. Claiming im not a customer when we sure paid for 4 ppl. said by owner LOL . Wouldn't recommend the stay. bugs anyway.very UNprofessional. not sorry for my words. Ew. Nasty environment of staff. Will never come here again.

Very nice and comfortable. The price is great for the location. The owners are amazing and you can tell they truly care about people and their business. Free breakfast is nice touch. The hotel itself is an older building, however the outside is fresh paint and clean landscaping, and the inside of the rooms and other common areas is completely renovated. They made me feel like I was their own family. Thank you to you all at Hotel South Tampa and suites🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I will recommend you to everyone!

Service was great, to our surprise so was breakfast. A bigger variety than we ever expected. The pool was nice but the rooms are not very clean, our shower had mold, and the CARPET was disgusting our feet were black after walking around. I put a towel down so we didn't get the carpet wet from the pool and the towel was black after a couple of mins. Please shampoo your rooms. The bed wasn't very comfy, but it was one of the cheapest semi nice hotels we found.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was excellent: beautiful residential neighborhoods to walk around, a very nice park with kids playground in easy walking distance, convenient to plenty of restaurants and stores. Convenient to: airport, downtown Tampa, Bayshore and Davis Islands. The pool was very nice, and warm enough in November for my grandkids to play in. Plenty of parking and every room close to the parking lot. The rooms were large and well furnished, with comfortable beds, a small refrigerator and microwave and - in some cases - a kitchenette. The breakfast was not fancy, but adequate: cheese omelets, cereal, bagels, coffee, milk. I will definitely go there again.

The room was nice and clean. The staff upgraded my wife and I to a room with a king bed, which was a super nice treat we weren't expecting. They were all very friendly. Lots of interesting shops and restaurants nearby.

My name is Ryan My wife was in a wedding this past weekend and this is where the bride and groom chose for everyone to stay. The young guy at the front desk was probably one of the rudest people I have ever met. The room we got looked like it hadn’t been updated in over 10 years. Bathroom was small and A/C didn’t really work. Our room had a really weird and bad smell the sheets on one of the bed were dirty. when I asked to be moved I was told by the same young adult that he was busy and couldn’t talk. After this I politely asked for a refund and was met with a “you are funny.” I would never suggest staying here for anyone.

We had a very nice and comfortable overnight stay. This place fit the bill as we were attending a concert at Amalie and didn't want to drive back home - the price was affordable and nicely located. There were quite a few people staying here as well, so you can hear people passing by the room, but nothing major for being as full as it was. Breakfast was okay, wish the pancake maker worked, but the attendant kept on top of stuff making sure to refill when necessary. We would stay here again :)

Hotel (from the outside feels more like a motel) was very clean and nice. Much bigger than anticipated. Bed was very comfortable and shower had good pressure. The rooms are stylized like in a motel with no lobby and located in the middle of downtown south Tampa so I was a bit startled to realize this. There is no gate at the entrance so anyone can wonder around the hotel and linger outside the rooms. Reception was very comforting informing they have watches all throughout the night. Did enjoy my stay!

Our room was clean and quiet. Towels were changed daily. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to the airport and downtown . We can recommend this hotel in Tampa. We booked it 2 times. Value for money

Absolutely wonderful customer Service!!! Great team! MR.Patel was so patient with me. I’m older and it’s very hard to get such great customer service. The price is right, rooms are beautiful! Lidia makes the BEST oatmeal I have every ate!!!! Have to add to my review. Crystal & Thamra, help with keeping rooms so clean & supplied. What a ream they are! almost like Jennie’s in a bottle!!!

My family and I were impressed on how nice the hotel was! the Manager Rubin gave us premium service on our stay and even provided us with a pretty sweet deal regarding our stay. The pool was great and clean, staff was wonderful and breakfast, while a bit generic, was always ready every morning with no exceptions. Would definetly stay here again.

  • 1/5 Cherie B. 1 year ago on Google
This hotel is outdated, no microwave except the employees lounge, the parking lot and rooms are tiny, and our room had roaches! We were there less than 2 hours before checking out because of the roaches. We seen at least 6 different live roaches. We called the front desk to change room but none were available so we left. I find it hard to believe they are unaware of the roaches considering how many we seen in such a short time, yet the still rent the room out for $143 a night?! This hotel is horrible and overpriced!

Honestly this is one of the better hotels I’ve stayed at for the price. Very quiet and clean. Furniture needs to be updated but I had a great stay here. Staff is very friendly.

  • 1/5 Doemi H. 1 year ago on Google
They have quite thr pest problem. We had to change rooms and still had little roaches. Their customer service is pretty awesome and the location is good too but they need to do better at cleaning.. especially the rooms with kitchens cause that slacking is bringing bugs.

If I could give 10 stars I would this has been such an amazing experience from the start the front desk staff are so friendly and welcoming 😁 Nice neighborhood, clean pool and rooms, AMAZING friendly staff, Continental breakfast. Definitely recommend staying here. Best hotel in Tampa

For a “smoke-free” establishment, we sure did leave smelling like an ashtray. The stench was heavy coming from the AC unit which soiled the bedding also leaving a long lasting stench on us and our belongings. The shower won’t help since there’s no hot water, let alone enough pressure to throughly rinse any product you might put in your hair. There’s a sign on the mirror “turn water off while brushing teeth and/or shaving” - apparently the other guests didn’t, leaving our unit rather dry. Lots of tiny ants covering the vanity, so keep your toiletries packed up until you’re ready to use. Location was convenient along with parking - definitely not worth the rate for the Schitt’s Creek experience. GM did offer a 25% discount for a future stay - happy to pass that along if anyone wants it!

Our stay was very comfortable. The location is great; many restaurants in the neighborhood. The rooms were decent and the staff at the front desk was very polite. Breakfast (included) has limited options.

  • 5/5 Meriah B. 1 year ago on Google
First, I made a mistake on the website for the wrong day and they were very nice in adjusting it and helping me out. Second, the beds were nice and the showers were good. We enjoyed our stay even though it was only for a day!

  • 5/5 Dani C. 1 year ago on Google
Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!! The staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean and have 3 mirrors, which was a bonus for 4 girls getting ready for the Taylor Swift concert lol. We were allowed to check in early for a small fee which was fantastic as well. 10/10 would stay here again!

  • 4/5 Marishka C. 1 year ago on Google
Only reason I'm giving it 4 is because we had barely anything the card in the room said we had...but the experience was amazing we had a blast. We visited a college and this was the closest hotel and it's great for the price. My first experience in Tampa and it was amazing. And the breakfast was good too. Y'all are doing amazing

  • 1/5 Mary G. 1 year ago on Google
If I could give a lower review I would. The room stank like musty mold and it was not cleaned appropriately. For the price could have been better. At least they had a nice swimming pool. And the view was nice.

  • 1/5 Marla F. 1 year ago on Google
I wish I could give 0 stars. Booked a king suite online with multiple beds. We were given a room with 1 double bed for 3 people. Had to go back to the lobby to get another room. The lady was arguing about what was booked even after showing her the reservation. The rooms are very outdated, not clean, dust and grime on the walls and carpet. Definitely not worth what is being charged. I wouldn't even try the breakfast because of the dirtiness of the motel. The description of this place is very deceiving. It is not a hotel. There were homeless people sleeping across the street. It is not a safe environment. Save your money and book somewhere else.

I stayed here for 2 months, was one of the greatest experience i had. My friends on the front desk as well as they managers were always kind and warm. My room was always clean and comfy, I couldnt expect more. Att. David Palencia

Amazing resort! All of the staff are friendly and helpful, no matter the issue. The grounds are amazing. The indoor atrium is a sight to see. They were setting up for the holidays and it is going to look great. The pools and water park are a ton of fun.

The food was really good, they had a great variety but make sure you are aware of the times as if you miss it, you’re out of luck! The bartenders were friendly and attentive. All the employees had excellent customer service, just walking past them, they showed they cared. They also were streaming the fifa games on the big screen which was awesome!

  • 5/5 Joe Y. 1 year ago on Google
I was very happy with my 5 day stay here. It's older, but it's been nicely updated. The staff were amazing, especially Ronald. Breakfast was decent, but get there early because they aren't the fastest to refill stuff. South Tampa is extremely safe, so no worries about crime around the hotel, but you are in more of a residential area. Ubers were fast and cheap down to Amalie Arena, Sparkman Wharf and the airport. All in all for the price it was great. I've stayed in a lot worse rooms for a lot more money.

  • 4/5 Hanna D. 2 years ago on Google
Decent clean hotel. The beds are comfy. Can’t say it about the pillows though. Good water pressure. Not bad breakfast. Minus one star because of teeny tiny bugs near the sink. I understand that these bugs came from outside but the hotel has to do something about it.

  • 5/5 James N. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel South Tampa was a very pleasant surprise. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff was so friendly and helpful. My travel plans changed twice while in south Tampa and the hotel was able to easily accommodate those changes and even able to keep us in the same room. I couldn't recommend the hotel enough, if ever in Tampa again, I'll definitely stay at Hotel South Tampa again.

  • 2/5 John H. 10 months ago on Google
Staff was nice. For an OLD hotel, it was just OK. Room smelled, but your nose forgets. What they call an exercise room was sad machines and some free weights. No mirrors. Bed was comfy. I walked around the room bare footed.. When I got in the shower the next morning, the dirt on my feet when they got wet...gross...

  • 1/5 Maya J. 2 months ago on Google • 1 review New
0/10 don’t recommend they should change the name to motel not hotel. Because this for sure isn’t a hotel! They are not worth the price their rates are set at. They want a certain type of guests in their hotel but majority of their guests are dirty and poor. If you want a real hotel with great customer and no dusty’s allowed visit The Godfrey. P.S y’all need to hire an exterminator because your cleaning protocols isn’t effective y’all have roaches everywhere. Maybe the guests y’all allowed is bringing them in
