Five Star Dim Sum, no question. Plus, the excellent wait staff make this restaurant a top pick for me. Have been eating dim sum for 30 plus years and Yummy's is without reproach; made to order (hotel style) so comes out hot and fresh and of excellent quality. Ok, one ding, the hot chili oil - needs to be hotter! Pics of chive cakes, shrimp/scallop dumplings, stuffed tofu, stuffed eggplant, and shrimp filled rice cakes.

I have been eating at YH since they were a little hole in the wall over by Waters Ave. I haven't been here once and not liked my food. Favs are Salt and pepper calamari, pork chops and egg plant, XO beef, Singapore noodles, lo mein. The sizzling pots are yummy too! If you want to try different things, go in for dim sum (small plates.) Great way to keep spending down and try several diff dishes!! There's plenty of seating that is spaced out well and there's a bar. If you have a large party, they have the tables with the spinning center pieces for shared dishes.

This is a solid spot serving authentic Chinese cuisine. Expect bold flavors and large portion sizes. Service is on point and efficient, but I wouldn’t expect white glove service at this restaurant. High lights included salt and pepper calamari and walnut shrimp. Soup portion sizes are large and can be shared by the table as apps

I really liked Yummy House! I got curry shrimp and dumplings and they were great! The service was pretty good. They served my food though five minutes before my boyfriends. Other than that it is really nice! You can definitely dress up or wear casual clothes.

The food you will get here is no nonsense Chinese food. We went in for the Dim Sum and had to wait 35 minutes for a table. Expectations were high considering the popularity of the location. The dishes were okay, nothing spectacular or worth going back for. The Hong Kong sticky rice was interesting and a cool eating experience. The Shanghai dumplings were by far the best thing we had. Everyone seemed to be ordering the fried calamari, so maybe go for that. Nothing really to complain about, not that exciting of a meal.

Food was delicious and fresh. The green tea was amazing. Great portion sizes for the food and I had leftovers for another meal. Only thing is we got a side of broccoli and it was $16 which seemed a bit excessive for a vegetable. We’ll be back though because the food was great and the service was good!

I used to go to the original Yummy House on Hillsborough. It has been a few years, so I was excited to see there was one on Dale Mabry. Only it's not. It is YHS south. I went during lunch hour so it was a bit crowded. Most of the diners were eating Dim sum. I wanted to try the pan fried dumplings. They were only on the dinner menu, so I splurged. A bit pricey. But my real complaint was they looked more like steamed dumplings. Only 2 had a slight hint of being browned. The filling appeared to be chicken. They were served in a shallow pool of sauce, the dumplings themselves had no discernable flavor. Next I ordered off the luncheon menu the house special rice, which included shrimp, pork, beef, and scallions. These were on a large serving of jasmine rice. The shrimp were far from being thoroughly cooked, the protein was small bits, and any flavor besides jasmine was undetectable. I had a few fork fulls and gave up. Total bill, $23. I will not be going back to YHS or Yummy House.

The restaurant is located within 10 minutes from Tampa Airport. The parking lot is located behind the building but limited space depending on the time of day. Nice ambiance and prompt service. The food portions were generous; however, the rice roll with shrimps (cheong fun) lacked the sauce.

🍚Is it Yummy? You Bet!🍚 Not only is the food served steaming-hot, fresh, and delicious, but it also comes in *massive* portions. I ordered the Vegetable Fried Rice and was shocked when I received enough for four people to split. Plan on requesting a take-home box, because whatever you order at Yummy House will feed you for the next 24-48 hours, easily. In fact, if you're planning to dine with a group, consider each ordering something and then splitting whatever you choose among yourselves. The menu is vast, with a variety of soups, rice-, noodle-, and meat-based dishes to choose from (lots of vegetable-based options also, for those steering clear of meat). The price is incredibly reasonable for the amount of food you receive. I recommend looking at the menu before going to the restaurant so you can fully browse the options at your own pace. The restaurant is a popular luncheon spot. I waited a brief 10 minutes before my table was prepared. Highly recommended!

Wow! We loved this location. The restaurant has a high end feeling but casual. The service is really good.Super friendly and attentive. Everything here is absolutely delicious. You can tell that they do no use MSG. Each dish has its own distinctive taste and fragrance flavor which does not happen in a lot of restaurants. We had Dim Sum and food was freshly made to order. My favorite is clams in black bean sauce. We definitely will go back!

If you want Dim Sum, this is the place for you! Come early if you want to have the items on the menu, especially the weekends, because they sell out certain items fairly quickly because they only make limited amount, such as the pineapple buns! Make sure you get the pineapple buns as your dessert! Stuffed eggplant, salted calamari are some of my favorites. I come here at least a couple of times a month!

It’s my 2nd time here after awhile, the quality of food still stay the same. Roasted duck is the best, but also fried rice and dim sum are all good too. No complaint about Service and atmosphere ! Best Chinese restaurant in the Bay!

Food is delicious, portions are huge, staff is friendly. What more to ask for in a restaurant? We had the salt and pepper calamari as an appetizer and it was excellent. The portion was too big for an appetizer but we finished it to the last piece. We then had the sea food XO sauce fried rice, the kung pao chicken and the sweet and sour chicken, all meals were very good. We’ll definitely be back soon!

The portion size is incomparable to anything in tampa. Yes the food costs more here but they more than make it up with the taste and quantity. There are very few places in tampa bay with such good tasting Chinese food. Lunch specials are great. Love the roominess inside. The place feels very peaceful and bright.

Great spot to grab some American Chinese food. Staff is friendly and quick. Food portions are enormous so don't let your eyes fool you into ordering to much. Parking is decent and good pricing.

We went on a Sunday afternoon. The place was busy but we got a table for 4 in less then 5 min. The services is attentive and fast. All the food we tried was excellent 👌. We will be back.

The restaurant said authentic Chinese so my Chinese partner and I tried it out. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that it's NOT authentic and they only have expensive American Chinese food. We didn't get good service and had to wait a long time for the bill but I think it was only because they were short staffed that night. It has a pleasant atmosphere and nice decorations but we definitely won't be back

I tried a few of their locations from Sarasota to tampa. 2 years ago, was the last time as the quality and taste went downhill. This time, family took me to this new location which as usual, fancy and service is too excellent (clean the dishes while am still eating). Besides that, everything is good, pricey, but good. This will add to my go to dim sum with dim sum king and dim sum house. Update: 1/2023 Dim Sum was amazing with great selections. Here for dinner and the menu is surprisingly limited. The dishes are good with decent portion and the restaurant is actually packed. So small menu works for them.

Great Chinese restaurant, we ordered the salt and pepper chicken wings, seafood pan fried noodles and salt and pepper seafood combo. The service was on point and very attentive. Would recommend coming here.

I enjoy a good curry and it is the item I can typically eat in Asian fare, as it doesn’t generally have gluten. I explained my need for gluten free and selected chicken it tofu curry. The waiter returned to tell me both the chicken and tofu contained gluten, but they could make me a vegetable curry. Ok, I’m on board. Soon he returned with a big bowl on beautiful veggies in a fine curry sauce. The vegetables with a bowl of white rice on the side was a flavorful and satisfying meal. I felt like my meal was made just for me… and it was!

It's a good place to go if you are craving Cantonese comfort food like dim sum and chow fun but expensive. The quality is a hit or a miss at times. I got chinese specialty green beans ($16) and they were a real bummer. Over-cooked to the max. No crunch. Just sad.

  • 5/5 Lauren S. 9 months ago on Google
Been in Tampa for over 27 years from the Northeast and this is by far the best “Chinese” food I’ve had here. It’s authentic, FRESH and delicious quality cooking. Portions are huge which makes it shareable and therefore, very affordable. Every single server we’ve had has been kind and attentive. Atmosphere is bustling over the weekend but makes for a comfortable and festive experience. Love it & highly recommend!

Great pepper spare ribs....but everything else was a let down. We usually go to the Hillsborough Av Yummy House. Now we know why. No dim sum carts, but they did have a nice picture menu to order dim sum. The shrimp balls (pictured) are like hush puppys with shrimp. Bigger, but not at all like the Hillsborough Av store. The buns were so over cooked, they fell apart when we picked them up. The sticky rice stuck to the leaves they were wrapped in, so I wasted a bunch just trying to scrape the overcooked rice into my plate. They tried to overcook us too! The A/C was hardly working, and the place was almost completely full. If it wasn't for the very friendly staff, we probably would have left. We planned on buying more to take home for dinner, but the pepper ribs were really the only thing we liked out of five dim sum trays we ordered. We trusted the name Yummy House, but we learned they are NOT equal.

This place is still the best Chinese Restaurant in all of Florida! Authentic Chinese with so much flavor. From the crispy salt and pepper shrimp to the orange chicken my mouth was bursting with flavor. Come early on Saturdays to get parking. We had to wait about 25 minutes. The place was packed, but well worth the wait. I had to take 1 star off , though, because on one of the hottest days of summer the air conditioning felt like it was on low, and it was warm inside.

Yummy House is deceivingly large on the inside. Very clean and plenty of seating for large parties. We started with fried salt & pepper eggplant, steamed bbq pork buns and spring rolls. Wasn’t crazy about the spring rolls pretty plain and was really in the mood for an egg roll. Food came out quickly and the eggplant was a hit. Mains we had Chinese broccoli plate , lunch lo mein special (had to try the homemade noodles) and Spicy Szechuan Chicken. Yummy house did not disappoint food was clean, not greasy and service was great. Would definitely love to go back and try dinner.

Probably the best Chinese food that I've found in Tampa. They proactively shut down their dining room when covid numbers started climbing but are still operating a strong take out business. One strange thing was their hand sanitizer smelled like tequila.

  • 2/5 Stars Above s. 3 years ago on Google
Food was pretty basic it didn't impress me at all nor made me want to go back. If you want a good place to eat I'd recommend The Genghis Grill they serve you more than enough even with a small order and the food is very well done. I ordered a shrimp lo mein from this yummy house and they literally only put 2 shrimp in my bowl and the place on top of that I think is way too expensive for basic food.

  • 5/5 Rachel L. 3 years ago on Google

  • 5/5 Emmy R. 6 years ago on Google
Excellent! Authentic top notch Chinese cuisine with great service and cool, contemporary ambiance. Very chic. Food is succulent, tender. Part of the Yummy House China Bistro family. Table service. White linens at night. Ample parking. Nicely priced lunch specials. Across the street and just north of Village Inn, south of Wawa. This is not your typical Chinese restaurant, which is a good thing. Table service, not a buffet. Not a place for loud children. Walkable from area neighborhoods.

A very good place to have Chinese food in Tampa. Taste of the food is very similar to Srilankan Chinese food. The only thing is the food here is little bit oily. There are lot of options for Pork lovers. Big potion for a good price. Busy place during lunch hours. But the service is quick. I like “Seafood fried rice”. Tried “Sizzling Chicken with ginger sauce” too this time. It was delicious.

The food is pretty good but when they messed up both of my orders. I called back and described the situation and the women on the other end asked if it was tonight and trying to remember who i was called me "the american" and asked what was wrong with the food with a little 'tude. So i said they got both of my orders wrong so she asked what i wanted to do. I said I wanted a refund and she chuckled and said we can give you a free entree next time you come. She took my first name and 'wrote it down'. Upon trying to redeem this free entree 1 1/2 weeks later they had no idea what I was talking about and apologized and said that they couldn't do any thing about a situation they knew nothing about. LAST time I went and never have been back. I had nothing but good experiences up until then but that whole situation should have never happened and had to jump through hoops to try to get it remedied. Very unfortunate but customer service like that won't be rewarded with my patronage.

The yummy spicy combo, the bbq pork buns, the dumplings, the the spicy chicken combo are all amazing. I havent had fresh good Chinese food in a while, and after trying multiple places in tampa this place definitely had the best Chinese food, service, atmosphere and hospitality that I've encountered. They have a great lunch special menu with almost everything under $10 and I usually always leave with a left over box to go. It's a must try if you are in the area craving chinese food.

  • 4/5 Kadeem S. 4 years ago on Google
The salt and pepper chicken was great; I couldn't get enough of it. The shrimp and broccoli had good flavor, but I was expecting a more significant portion because it doesn't come with rice, and I guess a little more in terms of presentation and taste. I can get the same quality shrimp and broccoli if not better at my local Chinese food restaurant. I also ordered the seafood fried rice, and the honey walnut shrimp, which was delicious as well. The honey walnut shrimp wasn’t as good as others I’ve had in the past but still great. The ambiance of the restaurant is delightful. The waiters and hosts were fantastic, and I think the floor managers (at least I thought they were managers) were very attentive and cared about our needs.

  • 2/5 Carmen W. 3 years ago on Google
I'm sorry but I think this place is overrated and over priced for what you get. I've had much better on a buffet. Rice is pretty good but after trying this place twice I cannot return and would not recommend. I'm surprised by the good reviews.

I placed a Togo order tonight and when I arrived to pick up my order at the bar I received poor service. The manager glanced at me a couple of times while tending to the register and talking to a server that came to speak with him after I arrived and neither one said anything to me. Atleast 4 servers also walked by and never said anything until one of them finally asked if I had been helped several minutes later. The manager walked by me and never said anything about not greeting or seeing if I needed help. Even a “Hello, I will be with you in just a moment,” would have been fine.

Well first of all the food tasted really really good. At least what we tried before we found in hair on her dish. We told the manager. I said I didn't want to eat and lost my appetite. Still had to pay for the food. Only gave me a ten % discount. Wth. I didn't want to argue so I paid and left. Never again. With better manager this review would have been prevented.

Live 45 minutes away from this excellent restaurant and it was my first time here, sadden we cannot dine in... They recommend me the calamari and beef upon and pepper sauce. Couldn’t go wrong with the calamari as appetizer.... very YUMMY. Their service is worthy the young lady Sherli was great she explained to me half of the menu... and they were busy... great service. I will be back. Thank you yummy house for being open. military discount are well appreciated.

Let me start by saying this used to be a 5 star review for good food and great service. However my most recent visits has not been the same experience that I have been accustomed to. The last two orders were terrible. I called in my order and picked it up within the 10 min time slot given. The food appeared and tasted as it was previously prepared and sat for hours. The female there was less than pleasant as well. Spend your money elsewhere.
