I order the Pu Pu Platter. It was delicious, except the shrimp toast which were deep fried fold slices of bread with stuffing inside. I tasted it, but it had too much oil. The BBQ beef wasn't that good. Instead of receiving two BBQ beef, I received one BBQ beef and one BBQ chicken. The BBQ chicken tasted better.

I ordered a Singapore Mai Fan, there were not enough vegetables or shrimp for the exorbitant price. Also, the woman taking my order was extremely rude, treating me as if I didn't know what I was ordering. The wonderful thing about living in New York is being exposed to all nationalities, so therefore knowing what different languages and foods mean, I was totally insulted by the experience.

I ordered the Four Seasons Combination Dinner and was thoroughly impressed. I normally ask for dumpling sauce to pour over the entree just incase it’s not so good but I didn’t even have to use it. The pork fried rice was flavorful, the entree was nicely portioned but the sauce was the key. The brown sauce they made was excellent. Few places can nail that, but they did. It wasn’t too watery and had the perfect consistency. The egg roll was good too, however I believe it would have tasted its best if eaten hot. I’d dine here again and recommend to others.

Beef Sichuan i ordered spicy was so bland Minnesotans could eat it it. The only distinguishable flavor was of star anise and even that was mild. I've had better food in the hospital. My friend ordered honey chicken for $15 and change and got a box of dry chicken nuggets and rice. Never ever ever again.

It's clean and fresh, but definitely bottom-tier Chinese food. Everything is super basic and cheaply made. For example the House Special Lo Mein was 99% noodles. The only good thing about it is the price.

Very mediocre. I don’t like going to restaurants where they make me feel like they’re doing me a favor by serving me. Also, $4 to switch from rice to plain lo mein? Really? It’s just noodles!

Worst hole I’ve ever made the mistake of eating at. Wouldn’t feed it to my dog if he was starving. What they call fried rice is just plain yellow rice— gross. But definitely a hospitable environment with flies, no AC, and broken labor laws around you! Avoid at all costs.

What you would expect at a fast food Chinese restaurant… had all the regular food selections and was served quickly.

Food is always fresh to order but I will not recommend this place just based off of my recent experience with the lady at the front counter. She is very RUDE!!

We tried China Garden to compare it to the Chinese place right by our house where we regularly go. We got the same thing we regularly do. China Garden was pretty good, but not as good as China Moon (on MLK). I always get the General Tso's Chicken. China Garden's General Tso's Chicken was good. Solid 4 out of 5. The sauce was a little browner and richer than the General Tso's Chicken we usually get, which usually has a slightly redder sauce. The difference in flavor was rather subtle, but I prefer China Moon's. Even so, it was good. My wife got the homestyle tofu. It was also very similar to China Moon's. The difference there was even smaller, though my wife said she was give the edge to China Moon. My son got the fried dumplings and shrimp lo mein. The dumplings were good, with a fair amount of flavor without the sauce. The sauce was more of a seasons soy sauce with a fair bit of kick (not really spicy, but there was some spice). China Moon wins on the dipping sauce, but it was probably sixes on the dumplings themselves. The shrimp lo mein was the big disappointment. It was the most bland lo mein I have had in a long time. There wasn't any real flavor to it. Lo mein can be done a number of ways, but it should have some flavor. China Garden's shrimp lo mein was very underwhelming. The price was similar to China Moon - perhaps slightly more. Service was fast (we ordered online). The store itself is definitely a hole in the wall, but seemed fine for that. It looks to have a reinforced counter area, suggesting they are trying to avoid robberies. I'd go back for the General Tso's chicken, homestyle tofu, and dumplings, but definitely not for the lo mein.

I ordered the party tray, The food was tasty and season right, however, i have never been disrespected from the portion size in my life they legit gave me 80 percent rice in the tray and 20 percent of actual hunan chicken on top. They were slick by putting hunan Chicken over aluminum to separate it from the Rice tray. I ordered hunan chicken tray and received a rice tray

Everything was abundant and delicious! The only glitch was that the Wonton Soup needed more flavor and salt. I can fix that. The shrimp was very clean and fresh-tasting. The General Tso's chicken was very flavorful and tender. The egg rolls were crispy and large. I will definitely order again.

The building was clean. First time trying their food didn’t care for the food very bland. teriyaki chicken on a stick, mixed white meat and dark meat on a stick with gravy on it, yuck.!! We also got bourbon chicken, the flavor is very bland. First and last time!

The only place I've found with Philly cheesesteak eggrolls. Quick service on takeout orders. General tso is always spicy enough. Portions are a good size. Ragoon always come out perfect. My go to Chinese place

Love this hidden gem. Food is always delicious and the staff is great. Been going here for years and as long as they are there, will continue to go.

I ordered Hunan Chicken for take out at lunch. The food was made fresh in about 10 minutes, which was a huge plus. Portion size was standard. The person at the counter was very nice and quick, as well. Inside of the restaurant was clean. My main issue is that the food was fairly bland; I don't usually get the hottest spice level, and veer toward medium or mild. In this case, spice was nonexistent, as well as the rest of the food just had oil and a little bit of sauce to taste. Imo not worth the $12, I'd have been more satisfied if it were a few dollars less expensive or the seasonings had wowed me.

I have been attending this place since 2005 and I also have to agree that it has not been the same. Starting with the small food portions but skyrocketing Prices. The lady upfront is rude and not professional especially when you confront her on the smaller portion of food and higher Prices. I'm Moving on from this dumpster fire and I'm looking to a new place with dignity and the Correct food portions for a affordable price much Lesser than this place of crooks. CYA China garden I'm taking my business & loyalty to your rivals on 1743 E. Hillsborough ave.
