Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. We are from the Midwest and used to Kc & Memphis style BBQ, and this held its own against both of them.

If you are looking for good food at a great price, go somewhere else. My meal was nearly $20. I don't consider myself a foodie but I know good food when I taste it. This was not good. The brisket was room temperature. It had very little if not any flavor and it was by far the driest brisket I have ever had. Don't waste your time on the sides. The mac and cheese is nothing more than a box brand with a cheese packet. I make these for my kids at home and they taste better. The baked beans were okay but too sweet. It seems like they're way of adding flavor is to just and sugar. This place should get rid of all its meat and just start selling its baked goods. They were the only thing that was worth the trip.

Ordered on uber eats and they take advantage of the online ordering. The portions are so so small. The "two meats" was a a cut up slice of brisket and some burnt ends tossed in. Thr amount of fries was laughable

Very nice spot to grab lunch. The menu is typical of this kind of chain BBQ spot. The prices are competitive. I recommend the 2x2 platter if it is your first go at this place. The indoor seating is great for any group and the outdoor seating was pleasant and covered from the sun.

I went during lunch and I truly wasn’t impressed, my sides tasted like it was from out of the can. The turkey meat tasted pretty good, I spiced it with a lil bbq. They have desserts that I didn’t get to try. Maybe their other dishes would be a satisfaction, but not this one.

We were in town from Louisville, Kentucky and I’d order my husband and I some food through Uber Eats; because he loved BBQ and I was vegan and they had a vegan option which is very rare at barbecue restaurants! When our order was delivered my meal was not included and the restaurant was closed. So I called their customer service line and make a complaint at which time they told me that my name would be recorded and I could receive my order free the next day. So the next day my husband and I went to 4 Rivers Smokehouse on MacGill and the manager and staff were awesome everyone was very understanding and friendly! The manager provided my meal for free as well as my husband’s! So glad we came in the food was EXCELLENT!!!! The atmosphere smelled amazing 😂 and was cozy, clean and welcoming! There was a hostess that was one of the kindest ladies I’ve ever met and the manager Steve was very nice and hospitable! Any time we’re in Tampa we will surely be back! This place is a must try if you love BBQ and kind people! Even if you’re Vegan 😁

Had the Cuban, Mac and cheese, and a cookie delivered through UberEats. The Cuban was ridiculously good. The smoked meats add a nice spin. Mac was ok. Cookie was great.

Atmosphere and service were definitely excellent but the flavor fell a little flat for me. I ordered the brisket Platter. The brisket was great but I probably got about 50% pure indigestable fat. Mac n cheese had no flavor at all and was very soupy, beans were good, cornbread looked good but had jalapeños and I'm allergic so I couldn't eat it so couldn't tell you if the flavor was there, and lastly the collard greens were pretty good. A few hits and misses. I would consider coming back and trying other items on the menu, the pulled pork looked really good. I think it's worth giving a shot.

**Absolutely Amazing Food and Even Better Customer Service!!** After my Uber Eats driver literally ripped the take out order I placed out of my hands and threw it on the ground, I went to the restaurant and spoke to Steve (The Manager) and shown him pictures of what had just happened and he replaced everything on my order for free! Obviously I couldn’t allow that because it wasn’t their fault this had happened so the very least I could have done was leave a generous tip for their expedited and kind service! Upon getting back home my brother and I feasted on by far the best BBQ I’ve had! The beans are sweet and tangy and has delicious meat inside; the Mac and cheese is something you should only be able to get at a family reunion, creamy and delicious; the jalapeño poppers are exactly how I make them at home and just as good! ; the bread pudding must be the owners great great grandmother’s secret recipe because it was better than I could have imagined!! ; the smoked chicken and the St Louis Ribs were literally falling off the bone and delicious; and the pulled pork sandwich was the best I’ve had, and I grew up in NC! 100% will be back for more!! TLDR: Uber eats driver assaulted my delicious order but the restaurant made up for it by giving me the best BBQ I’ve had for free!!!

If your looking for bad service and small portions with cold stale food this is the place to go! God forbid you request them to serve you your fries at the same time your sandwich is finished. Do yourself a favor don't waste your money, the staff could care less about what they are serving you.

Definitely not what I expected! The pulled pork was awesome! I was skeptical about the potato, but it was pretty good! They have a great selection of sides and the prices aren't ridiculous. I'll definitely go back when we're in the area!

4 stars for the service and side dishes, many great sides to choose from. I’m giving 3 stars on the BBQ. The brisket was tough and chewy. The pork was decent and the ribs were okay. I’ll eat here again and update the review if BBQ improves. This place has the potential for five stars, just not consistent. Overall a great place to eat.

GREAT food. Clean inside and out. Attentive and friendly staff. Not too loud inside. Tender and flavorful meats. Well-marked menu shows allergy-friendly items, including GF French fries! Our daughter selected 4Rivers for her birthday dinner. Military discount too!

We tried to go to The Mill but they are very much closed, likely for good. I saw 4 Rivers on the map and my old coworker said he used to work there and also went back.. Soo, we decided to go here and were kind of glad the other place was closed. I had the six shooter with green beans. It was so good I loved the grits , but the green beans were alright . My SO had a 2x2 platter; brisket, burnt ends, mac and cheese and cornbread. Everything was delicious, the staff was friendly. We'd definitely come back here again!

I live in St Pete and had a doctors appointment in Tampa and decided to take out for lunch. I ordered $45 worth and when I got home 1 of my entrees was missing. We were the 3rd customer of the day. I called to ask for a refund on my entree and now it is 11 days later and I have not received my refund. Do I just check it off as a loss? I expected something better.

This place is so flavorful and clean! Went here for the first time in a while for some good BBQ. I had the Brisket with green beans and baked beans and it was so good. The brisket was perfection!! And I made sure to get a dessert, the pumpkin bar was very sweet and savory. Got my food fast and the place is very roomy and clean. Amazing place you guys have! Best BBQ in the Bay!

Had a meal here recently and found it to be fairly average. We tried the brisket, cornbread, and collard greens. While the food wasn't bad, it was nothing to write home about. With all the hype surrounding this place, I was expecting more. Overall, it feels a bit overrated. If you're looking for an exceptional BBQ experience, you might want to consider other places.

This was $24 🤯... Dry pulled chicken that had hard chunks in it, velveeta macaroni and cheese, beans were ok and the Brisket was extremely salty. I told them to give me the moist part of the brisket and it was nothing but fat. 4 Rivers used to give you cornbread with your meal and they said not anymore and its $3.25 for a tiny sliver that cost them cents to make. Dont even waste your time, there is better BBQ at the local food truck.

The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the brisket had a perfect smoky flavor, and the sides, especially the coleslaw, complemented the meats perfectly. The service was attentive, and the rustic ambiance added to the overall charm of the place. I highly recommend it…

Really small to-go portion sizes. The sides are about as small as sauce cup. Plus they don’t even fill them all the way, disappointed with that. The meats are cooked / seasoned very well 10/10 on those. Just order the meats and skip the sides.

we were really disappointed it with the brisket we asked for it to be moist & lean we order half pound from each ..but unfortunately first was super cold and 2nd it was very very dry we were there for dinner and am sorry for that

Katelyn is what made our trip here an awesome experience today! Her friendly and fun banter while ordering set the stage. Then she followed up with positive interaction and high touch service on the floor while we enjoyed our meals. The food quality was very good and price points were spot on. Atmosphere was nice. Plenty of drink options. Great desserts. But Katelyn is what made us decide we will be visiting here again and again and again! Kudos to this great young lady!

Great good! Love that gf is marked on the menu. Friendly lead on the line but the line moved kinda slow compared to other locations. Slight mix up on our hot dog special being delivered. Overall, liked it there.

  • 5/5 Jen A. 8 months ago on Google
Brisket, burnt ends, turkey, chicken and sausage were all excellent. Fries were crinkle cut and crispy. Loaded potato was huge. Slaw had the slightest hint of heat. Burnt ends (pork & brisket mixed) were untraditional in that they were almost shredded pieces but good. Ribs were subpar from our experience. Mac n cheese had a watered down flavor. Prices were competitive. Counter service made for quick service. Cheerwine at fountain for the win. Service was friendly and quick. We'd definitely go back.

When you think you’re a Pit Master and you meet your competitors, 4 River BBQ is the Best Southern BBQ with a Texas twist. Everything was a great experience from the the front door to the exit. General manager took the time to introduce himself and share a little history. We also meet a young lady from my hometown Louisville Ky. Who was very nice and welcoming. Hostess/manager.was very nice and had great customer service skills

Did pick up and Julia was amazing. She made my week with her beautiful smile and sweet disposition. She deserves to be promoted or given a raise. I was not a big fan of 4 Rivers, moved to South Tampa a year ago from winter Park area. I will return to this location again only. Thank you 😊

Ordered Uber eats and got the worst pulled chicken sandwich. Charging almost 10 bucks and picture on uber looks amazing and I recieved the most unappealing and small portioned sandwich ever. Giving 2 stars just cause quesadilla was worth the price. Stay away from the sandwhiches.

I ordered thru Uber eats (smoke house 2x2. Pulled pork, sausage, fried okra and corn bread). The cornbread was the only eatable thing. The rest was so salty that I had to throw it away. Maybe I was the last order of the day but I couldn’t eat it and I do eat salty food. This was just salt. Horrible experience.

Three words: Vegan. Burnt. Ends. As a gluten-free vegan who misses barbecue very deeply, this hit the spot better than I could have imagined. Obviously I didn't partake of the actual meat, but I'm sure it was amazing based on the level of understanding that went into making these burnt ends amazing.

Good Pulled Pork! Get the 1/2 lb. Sweet Texas Cornbread & lots of good southern sides. Downside: they served Pepsi products instead of Coke.

Went for take out and was pretty surprised when I got home to find such a small portion of meat (2x2 platter) Was very tasty but felt pretty unhappy with the amount as it didn't compare at all to an in store meal. Not what you would expect from a typical BBQ experience and I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a normal portion lunch.

As soon as you walk in, the smell is delicious!! We visited the day reopened after Ian so the menu was limited. We both got a pulled pork sandwich and it didn't disappoint. Can't wait to go back to try the loaded potato or maybe the ribs. The service was great and the restaurant was very laid back and adorable.

I received more meat when I ordered just 1 Burnt Ends Sandwich than I did with preceding 3 sliders. I can’t see how that’s even possible. Especially when the sliders cost more. The meat still tasted good but a little dry.

I ordered the burnt end platter... What I got looked more like pulled pork matter of fact I'm sure it was pulled pork. I am from Kansas City, MO born and raised. I know BBQ, I paid $30 for a sandwich Styrofoam container slop of pulled pork which is not what I ordered and paid for. I am visiting Tampa so I DoorDashed my lunch. Then to add injury to insult I am sitting on hold and it keeps going from 3 to 7 to 15 to 10 minutes. I then spoke to an answering machine. There was nothing to eat with and my soda was flat. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I will make sure to tell anyone I know visiting Tampa or Orlando to avoid eating at this so called "BBQ" restaurant btw if I could give a -10 stars I would.

Wow! Been here several times so far. The food is delicious and very quick given the way it is prepared while you order. Also, It took me a while to figure out why my bill was so low every time we ate here: kids eat free! I don't understand how they make money but the food and atmosphere are excellent!

First time. Heard a lot of great things. Staff was very polite and helpful. The brisket and pulled pork was some of the best I have had. Green beans and greens were just OK. I still would 100% recommend.

4 Rivers Smokehouse was a great find for a quick family meal on a busy Friday evening in Tampa. Even with Spring Break crowds, 4 Rivers Smokehouse was able to accommodate the crowd and feed everyone extremely well. When we arrived, the dining area was approximately 75% full, but tables turned over fairly constantly. We easily found seating for 6 adults and 1 infant. There was a line of 20 people when we arrived. After seating a couple of adults with the infant, we sent runners to wait in line, order at the counter, and returned with meals for all within 15 minutes. The brisket was excellent, as was the turkey, pulled pork, and burnt ends. The beans and collard greens were a bit wet for the paper boats, but had good flavor. The baked cheese grits hit just the right note, especially for the Gluten sensitive in our group.

It would be beneficial if you ordered food from here and you know RECEIVED BBQ SAUCE. Meats all dried and terribly smoked , DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE. Unless you like dry meat that has no flavor or smoking.
