From outside it’s a super nice church. I like the wooden look, convinces with the colorful tops and the golden tips. Inside is okay. I didn’t like the fact that they sell candles to visitors, who light the candles for someone, and as soon as the visitor leaves the church, they blow the flame and reuse the candles for the next visitor. Kind of a scam, I’d say. But 4 stars anyway as I really love that nice building and the beautiful attached Picknick area directly next to it.

The architectural style of the cathedral is unique and fascinating. Could do with better maintenance for the exterior of the cathedral

Wonderful church with an interesting history. Was once the tallest building in Karakol and for decades was not used as a church. This was completed and consecrated in 1895.

An old Russian build cathedral maintained still and used by the people of Karakol. Still well maintained and remains calm and serene. The architectural style is unique. The outdoors of the church are well maintained too with a beautiful garden.

Built in the 19th century without any nails used, this cathedral is an interesting place to visit in Karakol.

They are open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. And the church was not opened, but you can visit the outside of church

A really beautiful place and worth visiting. It’s just a small church and you can’t enter inside

At first glance it is rather faded and appears maybe abandoned. But nope it is definitely still operational. I loved the appearance and atmosphere of the place.

Beautiful church in Karakol, not far from the other main attraction (the Dungan mosque). Certainly worth a visit and folks around the church were very friendly.

Beautiful orthodox church. Unfortunately there was no guided tour available in English so non-believers are not able to understand and fully appreciate the place. Also bought some postcards which were very overpriced.

Lovely wooden cathedral with lots of history. Peaceful rose garden outside and some souvenirs and postcards inside. Cover your head, knees and shoulders

Very cool 19th century Russian Orthodox Church, with a unique wooden facade and interesting Soviet-era history. Worth a visit if in Karakol

Interesting and well preserved wooden orthodox church, which reminds the multinational history of the town. During your tour around Karakol, you should visit the church, as it is one of town's main attractions. No fee is charged, women should enter the church with covered head. Scarves may be found inside.

Beautiful cathedral but the people are not so friendly

Looks interesting from the outside, but the interior seems to be too ordinary to "aww" somebody. For some reason, they forbid you to take pictures inside which doesn't appear to be tourist-friendly.

Large wooden cathedral in Karakol City. It was locked when I visited but the gardens were lovely and the building is definitely striking albeit a bit weathered looking but that adds to the charm.
