😠 Good concept but Service sucks! The staff member didn't give me any introduction. They're interested in only big group. I felt like I was ignored. We're waiting for long long time but no one pay the attention. Am I the air?? You know before I was really wanna come here but you guys made me feel down... People often mention cafe, room, life, death, escape, experience, Bangkok, coffee,

One of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had while living in Bangkok was here This is not a “cafe” in the traditional sense, it’s more of an interactive gallery / experience where a ‘tour guide’ of sorts brings you through a series of rooms, each one representing a different stage of life. For those who are maybe uncomfortable or uncertain about the process of death, a visit here can help you overcome your fears and achieve mindfulness. For those who are comfortable with death, it’s a beautiful reminder that life is extremely special BECAUSE we will die one day. It’s unfortunate that the name and the fact that they serve coffee (once you’ve paid an admission fee of 500 baht) has led to the misconception that it’s more of coffee shop, and I think this sets up certain expectations for visitors. Even after reading a number of articles and reviews about it before visiting, I felt almost blindsided by what it actually was. I hope they can market it more clearly in the future, as I think it would attract MORE visitors if their branding was a bit clearer.

WARNING - This place charges foreigners more than locals and has two different menus. As a Thai, I'm disgusted that there are places still operating the illegal double standard pricing. This kind of xenophobia is unacceptable and I strongly advise you not to support this. This double pricing applies to all foreigners whether tourists or those who are residents of Thailand and pay taxes here. Update: reply below from management of venue clearly states they do not understand that it is illegal to charge foreigners a different price from locals.

A very weird yet interesting cafe in Central Bangkok (Ari skytrain Station). Good coffee menu and reasonable food. Probably better at night than during the day.

Magnificent peaceful & mindblowing awareness cafe. Truly stumbled upon this place. Drawing in the spooky dark tunnel from busy passersby on the main street. At first browse, the another one Halloween theme cafe. But after carefully studying each area, came the true meaning of 'Awareness' as in the cafe tag. Recommended for both who just want to try some new experience, and also who study Buddha philosophy. Free wifi and air condi. room still available here. Also have some snacks and foods served. There are 2 opening time here, please check which one is fit to your desires.

Interesting half day out, There are escape rooms as well as exhibition area. When you buy exhibition ticket you will get one free drink. The escape room is 50 minutes long but trust me once you get out you will need a drink and a sit down lol 😆😆

Everytime I go to a new city, I play every escape room.  In Bangkok, there are 14.  5 in Puzzlebangkok and 6 in Escaperoom Thailand, the latter being an international chain.  It has been my experience that an escape room associated with a coffee shop tends to be low tech: simple puzzles on paper more akin to a scavenger hunt.  But Death Cafe's puzzle room are on the level: without giving away any of the puzzles, they do use lasers, hiddens rooms, magnet placements, positioning triggering special sounds, and many features you would find in popular escape room chains.  In particular, I was impressed by the Egyptian escape room, and found it superior in theme, puzzles, and final escape far superior than Escaperoom Thailand's room (which is, to reiterate, part of a massive chain).  I highly recommend the rooms here. My one and only advice is that the Thai Room is played with someone who speaks Thai and understand a little of Buddhist culture.  But overall, excellent rooms that should not be underestimated.

A very unique cafe with a greater idea behind. The owner ( Khun Mai) is a researcher and combining the research and his interest runs this cafe to promote death awareness as well as death contemplation concept in buddhism. The cafe operates as a knowledge hub and provide support to elders in order to help them become asset as Thailand is moving towards aging society. There are many interesting ideas to read. Cool things to try ( go and lay down in a coffin, try to be an elders and other things ). A must visit.

Interesting and interactive displays with great English speaking guide. A tat morbid but hey it’s reality. Let us realise the hard truths presenting in our face so that we will reflect and start thinking for the future and our close ones. Treasure the time we have now. The only drawbacks are the mosquitoes and air conditioning can be stronger.

A OK place about death. Service is OK but a bit dirty. Overall its ok. Taste is fine, but a bit too mild. Could be more sweet. The game was really challenging and fun, even scary. But a little too expensive, about 3,000 THB for the whole family! Anyways, this place is recommended for people who like puzzles or creepy things. 3.87/5

What an awesome, eye opening adventure of a place. So much to see and experience. Didn't get to experience the escape room, but the museum was interactive and interesting. I would definitely visit again.

We thought this would be just another hip, quirky, weird Bangkok instagram stop (and to be fair, it is all those things), but it also had purpose and real depth and research behind it! There's a branch of psychology that studies how the death awareness impacts our decision-making and behavior, and this "cafe" embodies that research, along with a pro-social bent. Read all the plaques. Definitely worth the price of admission.

To call this a cafe is underselling it. This is an enlightening thought provoking EXPERIENCE with a powerful message. Not just about death but about life itself as well, and what is important in this life. It would be good for society as a whole if there was this type of exhibition around the world.

Review for the escape room game, we played the beginner one. It’s challenging and fun and make us use time over the limit because it’s not very difficult but not easy. Cafe and another service we didn’t try but really recommend for escape room game, 4 ppl is funnier. We would like to try next game. ;)

If you think the goals you are chasing and the path you are walking are what you really need, I would like to invite you to this cafe. This cafe will make you RETHINK about your life. The exhibition depicts magnificently the circle of life, birth, old, pain and death. Don’t miss this cafe. Find you TRUE life purpose.

Great place for both team building and learning through active learning (activity-based learning). Only Escape room that you can also learn about life and good karma.

Our guide was Cue and she was so friendly and informative. I don’t want to give too much away because this is definitely an experience everyone should do when in Bangkok

It was a great place to see a different view of the concept of death and life in a light way. I’d recommend to get a unique experience and if you meet Ciu, she’s amazing and a great guide. She helped us through everything and make the tour engaging despite the language barriers! Recommend visiting and giving the games a try!

Very fun place to visit depicting a life cycle of a person, please note that it is 500 baht per person entry with 1 free drink and a tour :)

A must do experience. Makes you think. The girl-guide who was explaining us the whole story behind all of it was amazing, spoke english very good. Bit expensice entrance, however I would recommend this to everyone as it is worth it.

Entry fee is 250 for Thai and 500 for foreigner, even if you’re resident with a work permit. Why so much more for foreigner? You’re not a national park. Just for a coffee and to take pictures. Ridiculous.

My class went, 500 baht was pretty expensive! But it was cute for an immersive museum. Make sure you say you want a tour

Today I choose the cursed diamond room, about the mummy and Egypt. The narrator gave us the good advise and some clues. Very recommend to people who want challenge activity in Bangkok.

Went to the cafe hoping to have a brunch but the reception lady told us we will need 500baht for entry. We double confirmed if we need entry fee even if we’re only going to the cafe and she insisted. TLDR: 500 Baht for entry, seemed a bit fishy to me.

I have never had such a fun experience at a museum. The staff was amazing and informative. It made me think about life in ways I never had before. It’s worth every penny!!

An unusual cafe close to Aree BTS station. Select your coffin from the menu or just order a coffee.

Interesting theme. A lot of introspection and thinking of your death. Though it's meant to be a positive result by thinking of how you'd change your life. The cafe was ok. Coffee average. Service was great. Thanks for the tour.
