You can hike down to the waterfall at your own risk. It took us 30 minutes to walk all the way down. It's a moderate hike but only if you have the right footwear. I also recommend putting on long trousers or leggings instead of shorts.

The most magical experience I have had in my life to date. The walk down to the falls is about 20 minutes from the viewing deck, try crossing to the other side when walking along the river bed as the current gets stronger the closer you get to the falls. An unforgettable experience, will come here every year from now. If you're visiting Graskop, make sure you come to Lisbon falls, cost R15 per person to get in.

This is the most accessible of the large waterfalls in the area and perhaps the prettiest. You can walk down a path to the bottom and then a few hundred meters along the river to get to the bottom of the falls. The path is partly marked as closed but no one is watching. The waterfall pool is not swimmable due to the force of the water and the formation of the rocks but it is nice to feel the water fumes.

Yet another beautiful, must see stop on the Panorama Route. It is easily accessible and the queue to pay was not too bad considering it was probably the busiest time of year. Both the surrounds and waterfall itself is quite spectacular - definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

The falls were flowing in 2 streams when we visited earlier in September A quick r20 entry fee , paid via a card machine which was helpful Plenty parking, and only a few metres down to the viewing area past a few curio vendors . No one hassled us to buy anything

Beautiful views! Very quite and peaceful atmosphere around the falls! You can hike all the way to the plunge pull at the bottom of the falls where you can take a swim to cool off the hot temperatures of the Mpumalanga heat! Entrance fee of R20 pp at the gate but the view is worth the price!

Amazing waterfall, you can view it from the top viewing point but the short hike down to the base of the waterfall is really worth it. The hike down takes 20-30 minutes at a leisurely pace. You can swim at the natural pool at the base and the water is crystal clear. There is also safe parking.

This waterfall demands attention and I strongly feel it becomes worth it when you take a hike to base. It is not necessary to do but you don't experience it in all its glory any other way. The viewing point is just a few short steps from your car but the hike is a good 15 min each way. (I found it slightly quicker due to the fact that I am young and fit) but some other people would say around 30 min each way. The hike is steep and not easy on the way back but again, SO WORTH IT. This is a good stop to meet a lot of international tourists too which makes it more enjoyable. Be careful when you get to the base as the winds pick up substantially from the force of the water but you can swim in the base pool. The rocks are slippery too so proceed with caution but an awesome place to take pictures and spend time in refreshing water.

Great waterfall experience. Excellent view from the lookout point at the top and a short hike down to the bottom of the falls where you can also swim. This looks like it might close soon after our visit on 19 March 2022, but unsure.

Very beautiful waterfall. Parking was super easy, the view was breathtaking. We paid 16 zar per person to enter. You can park before hand, there you have the river bed for picnic. Also saw a lot of people swim. Overall very nice place

The views of the ravine and mountains in the backdrop were breathtaking. The area was clean and felt safe. The waterfall and its surroundings really create a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Truly one of nature’s best works of art. I’d definitely recommend coming here for a date or a picnic just admiring the view.

We love the rock pools. The dogs had such fun there. Not allowed to take then into the main waterfall area but they were nice enough to let me park inside quick to take a photo

My favourite falls on the route. I could spend hours exploring every part of Lisbon Falls. RIP Bethany, iykyk. Glad the graffiti was cleaned up from when last I visited 👏🏽

Wirklich tolle Aussicht.

The view and the waterfall are nice. But it's only a viewing point, no walk to go there. Still if it's on your way that's a nice place to stop. There are also several shops with good prices if you want to buy local items.

As much as it's dramatic, it's just beautiful. I spent quite a few minutes just staring at the waterfall and couldn't help but admire how it's goes from an extremely calm stream to such a huge fall. This place is a must visit and be sure to purchase a souvenir from the lovely market! Fun tip, there is a secret path from here to Berlin falls if you ask the security!

Do a steep hike down to the river, enjoy the great view and swim into the waterfall. Then a hike back up. Lots of fun!

Breathtaking waterfalls!!! Worth visiting Mpumulanga and all attractions. You can walk down to the falls, takes about 20 minutes to get there. The view from the top is beautiful but the views closer to the falls is so much better and worth the short walk. Once you have reached the falls, you are able to swim and admire the view as the waterfall gushes. My favourite waterfall visited in Mpumulanga.

This is a spectacular double waterfall in an area with many beautiful falls. A smaller upper falls adds to the majesty of this place. The modest admission fee is well worth it, and there is plentiful parking next to the short, easy trail leading to gorgeous views of the falls. Berlin Falls is very close to Lisbon and should be visited as well.

This is one of the most beautiful water falls i ever seen, but the place looks like it's not maintained well enough but nonetheless i enjoyed there, we were lucky we got there before the mist

Really nice falls, and the scenery around is gorgeous. We saw some people going down a path to the bottom of the falls, but a sign a the entrance of the path said no entry 🚫 so not sure what s happening there. But worth seeing even just from the top.

Very beautiful waterfalls in a dramatic scenery. Easily accessible, it takes just a couple of minutes from the parking area. You won't spend much time there but it is definitely worth a visit if you happen to pass by the area. There is also a small local art market right there is you're interested in buying some souvenir.

After 2 weeks of rain, this was quite a sight! Relative easy access (not wheelchair friendly though). Clean restrooms.

Beautiful view from the top - much like all the waterfalls in the area. BUT Take the time and scramble down to the bottom - the path is to the left of the viewing area. It's quite a steep descent but the view from the bottom is out of this world! As with all the waterfalls in the area, there is an entrance fee of R15 per person. Spend the cash, pack a picnic and make a morning of it.

Wow! An absolutely incredible experience. The walk down to the source is steep but good, the experience at the source is absolutely magical (including a swim) The walk back up is very tough in places. Overall, if you can, DO IT!!

The Panorama Route, which is an exquisite part of the local countryside that showcases some of the most beautiful vistas in the country. The waterfalls here are particularly gorgeous, and plentiful. The Lisbon Fall, the highest(94 metres high) waterfall in Mpumalanga province,Southern Africa.

They accept credit cards!!! Don’t miss the rocky river area 300m before the falls. It is free. And you can enjoy the cold water. I wish I knew there before so we could grab some drinks and snacks

Visiting Lisbon Falls in Mpumalanga, South Africa, is akin to stepping into an enchanting dreamscape where nature showcases its artistic prowess. Our recent visit left us spellbound by the sheer beauty and ethereal ambiance of this majestic waterfall. The aesthetic beauty of Lisbon Falls extended beyond its grandeur. The natural surroundings, including the native flora and fauna, contributed to the overall allure of the area. As we explored the trails and viewpoints, we were treated to a sensory feast, with the gentle rustling of leaves, the invigorating mist of the falls, and the songs of birds providing a symphony of natural sounds. The enchanting fragrance of the surrounding vegetation added a delightful olfactory element, enhancing the sensory experience. Photography enthusiasts will find Lisbon Falls to be a paradise of artistic inspiration. The interplay of light and shadow, particularly during golden hour, casts a magical glow upon the falls, creating a photographer's dream. The dynamic nature of the cascading water, the intricate rock formations, and the rich hues of the surrounding landscape provide countless opportunities for capturing breathtaking images.
