Phi
Phi
Island,
just
off
Krabi
on
the
west
Thailand
coast,
though
small,
is
a
very
beautiful
island.
It
has
a
rather
rocky
mountainous
area
on
the
northern
half
and
a
hilly
area
on
the
southern
half.
The
center
is
narrow
but
has
the
boat
harbor
on
one
side
and
a
beautiful
beach
on
the
other
side.
In
between
is
the
town,
which
is
a
labyrinth
of
narrow
streets
full
of
shops,
restaurants,
and
bars.
It
can
be
difficult
and
confusing
at
first
trying
to
make
your
way
from
the
harbor
to
the
beach.
From
Phi
Phi
you
can
take
various
boat
tours
to
beautiful
rocky
islands
with
hidden
bays
(which
can
be
so
crowded
with
tourists
that
enjoyment
is
lost)
or
other
places.
We
opted
for
a
boat
trip
to
Monkey
Beach,
which
is
actually
on
the
northern
mountain
area
of
Phi
Phi,
but
only
accessible
by
boat.
The
boats
stop
on
the
beach
and
monkeys
decent
from
the
mountains
to
ask
for
treats.
If
you
throw
food
in
the
water,
they
will
swim
out
to
get
it,
or
climb
up
on
your
boat
to
ask
for
more.
It's
interesting
to
see
the
monkeys
swim.
After
that,
we
went
on
a
nearby
snorkeling
tour.
There
were
many
beautiful
fish
to
see.
There
are
various
places
to
stay,
from
moderate
to
expensive,
so
check
the
discount
travel
companies,
like
Agoda,
to
see
photos,
location,
and
prices.
Don't
miss
this
lovely
island
before
the
seas
rise
and
the
center
is
gone.
