Somdet To is referred to as the most famous Buddhist monk in Thailand from the period of the Kingdom of Rattanakosin (1782-1932). He is widely revered and said to have possessed spiritual powers. For this very reason, his amulets are highly sought after. Monk images are also among the most popular religious icons in Bangkok. The memorial is located at the temple of Wat Rakhangkhositaram, where Somdet To served as abbot (1852-72). The monument is very nice and delightful.
