Five years ago, I came to Koh Tao with no plans and no friends. One thing led to another, and I truly found my family at Roctopus. From day one of Open Water to becoming a certified DiveMaster. I’ve been diving in solidly 20 countries and tons of dive shops around the world… trust me when I say that this place is second to none. The vibe, the people, safety first, and an encouraging environment. John is an excellent program director, and pushes you to do your best. A super thorough program, that checks every box and more. Also, how can you beat unlimited fun dives for two months! Don’t burn yourself out by trying to crash through courses. Roctopus has it all right. Choose Roctopus - choose the best!

His extensive knowledge, professionalism, and passion for diving made the course enjoyable and engaging. Frankie's teaching style was outstanding, conveying complex concepts effortlessly. He ensured everyone felt comfortable and confident in their skills. The dive sites were breathtaking, and Frankie's guidance was exceptional, prioritising safety. The equipment provided was top-notch. Roctopus Dive School's commitment to safety and environmental conservation was evident. I highly recommend Roctopus and Frankie for an unforgettable diving adventure. Thank you, Frankie, and the team at Roctopus Dive School!

I did both open water 20, and explorer 30 at Roctopus! I did the open water 20 was ich Matias and the explorer 30 with Frankie, both amazing instructors. I learned so much during my training, I fell in love with scuba diving and I feel confident in the water. Hopefully I will be back in a few years to do my dive master at Roctopus too. Super recommend!😍

What an adventure! After much deliberation I decided to do my Open Water 20 Diving course with Roctopus, and I cannot recommend them highly enough! Liam was an amazing instructor - patient, passionate and super friendly. I truly felt in safe hands at all times with him and it made for such a great experience. Although the course is very intense and challenging the chilled and friendly vibe at Roctopus made everything much more enjoyable. With the HQ located right in the heart of Sairee beach it was the perfect location too. Choose Roctopus if you’re looking to dive in Koh Tao!

I did my Open Water course with Roctupus after a friend who is a diving master recommended the school to me. They perform at a high level and I've always felt save. Mati our instructor had a great balance between fun and seriousness. He shared his knowledge and managed to explain the sometimes complex topic very clearly with different examples. Our group was small with 3 people (initially there should have been 4) which made the learning effect even better and also individual needs where considered (e.g. I suffered from motion sickness, so we conducted the first dive briefing before entering the boat to shorten the time on sea or bigger tanks to increase diving time for whole group). Also for fun dives, they take safety seriously and brief the group in detail before starting to dive. The admin part was easy too, I missed my ferry to Koh Tao due to a delayed train and they were open to postpone my start date by 1 day which I appreciated a lot. Overall, a great experience which I'm really grateful for.

I could not recommend this diving school more! I was very hesitant about going diving in Thailand because I was very scared of sea life and was not able to swim underwater without closing my nose before the courses, but it ended up being one of the best things I have ever experienced in my life. I started with the open water 20 course with instructor Will (10/10!) and struggled a lot during the pool session with taking my mask off and on under water, which made me so stressed that I was too afraid to go into the ocean. Will then stayed late practicing with me on the first day and practiced more early on the second day and made sure I felt completely comfortable during the skills in the ocean. He was flexible with on which dive I could do which skills, which made me feel very much at ease and confident that I would be able to do it. Seeing what actually is under water made me completely get over my fear of animals under the sea and I had the absolute time of my life. We saw all kinds of fish, schools of small barracudas, great barracudas, and even a sea turtle munching on some seagrass. I ended up loving it so much that I also did the advanced 30 course with which we got to go on deeper dives and improve buoyancy, navigation, and knowledge about the sea life of Koh Tao (both during the day and at night, we saw multiple sting rays!). Also on this course I felt nervous from time to time but Will was willing to slow down and made sure everyone was comfortable at all times. I really could not recommend diving with Roctopus more, don't hesitate and book your course or fun dive (and ask for instructor Will!)!!!

So first of all let me thank the entire roctopus crew here for an amazing diving course (did my open water and advanced back2back) but most definitely ‘scubadaddy’ Frankie. If you are looking for a dive school to get your licence(s) this is the place where you want to go, why? Because the classes are small, the RAID method is defintely a way to learn fast but tailored to where each student has their gaps (knowledge or ability wise) and the instructors are all very skilled and friendly (Frankie was my instructor and I would definitely recommend asking for him if you have the chance). And if you have some talent? They will learn you stuff not even manditory to complete the course but they will make you a better diver. I will definitely come back!

I was recommended Roctopus by everyone I’d met on my travels who had dived at Koh Tao. After shopping around I decided to go in and check them out myself, instantly I was greeted by the incredible staff who are super friendly and super informative and it didn’t take a second for me to make my mind up. My instructor for my open water course was Ant, honestly he was incredible, a super experienced diver with amazing knowledge. Couldn’t of asked for a better instructor, so a big shout out to Ant. It took me 2 dives to realise I wanted to do my advanced course and if you’ve dive before you’ll know why. On our Advanced course (same team -/+1) we had a dive master in training with us Leonore, again she was super informative really helped out and also lead us a few times. I had the best experience ever with these guys and huge huge Thankyou to them I’m never going to forget it and will absolutely continue diving! 10/10 recommend.

I just completed the Open Water 20 and Explorer 30 dive course with Sam as my instructor, which was a fantastic experience. Sam’s knowledge and dive teaching skills were evident throughout the course, making the curriculum interesting and informative. The open water dives were conducted in spectacular surroundings, allowing us to practice the skills we learned in real situations. Sam's teaching style is patient and thorough, making everyone on the team feel confident and safe underwater. The Explorer 30 added an exciting dimension to the course, introducing us to more advanced dive techniques and underwater navigation. Sam truly proved to be a star, especially when I got scared during my first dive on the open water 20 course. He helped me to calm down and and ensured that I felt safe throughout the entire dive, and helped me overcome my fears. His skills as an instructor really shone through, adding an extra quality that makes me feel comfortable recommending this course to others. Sam was a huge contributor to my overall confidence as a diver. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to explore the beauty of scuba diving with a knowledgeable and passionate instructor like Sam. Thank you for a fantastic experience "Nung" Sam & Roctopus Koh Tao

I don’t post too many reviews. But man. I just have to. This was my first diving experience and it exceeded all my expectations. Very professional diving school. The instructor found the perfect balance between making the team feel comfortable and confident while maintaining a very high, but fair, expectations of the diving skills. There were a lot more techniques that I did not expect when applying for my license. However, all of the techniques were explained in a very intuitive manner. The school also aims to really push the skills of their student by using a different method than most diving schools which has a higher diving standard which was a very welcome bonus. Additionally, even though the diving conditions were not optimal at the time we went (November), there was still much to explore. There was even a (paid) option to shoot a personal and professional video which was presented at a chill night. Huuuge bonus in my opinion. I can’t think of any point of criticism. But if I had to really squeeze out of point for improvement it would have been nice to get some physical license after you complete it. Oh and please consider a good photo if you want to look good and professional on you license. All in all, an exceptional school. Lots of adventures, and a memorable experience.

Amazing experience! Went out with Ty who was excellent. I am not a great swimmer and have a fear of not being able to touch the floor. All my fear was taken away and I felt so so safe. We done two dives and they were both incredible. Would highly recommend and will be back! Ty was amazing and couldn’t recommend him enough.

Just a week ago I came to Koh Tao with no plans to go diving, but after being persuaded to give it a try I headed to Roctopus Dive. From the moment I walked in (looking very clueless), and received a warm greeting by Matias, I knew I had found the right place to start my dive journey! He coincidentally became the instructor for our group’s Open Water 20 and was absolutely incredible from start to finish. He created a fun, exciting, comprehensive, and most importantly, safe environment for us to learn in, giving us the tools to feel capable and confident in the ocean (with a healthy respect for the dangers in open water) and I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor! In fact I was so overwhelmed with a newfound passion for diving and felt so at home at Roctopus, that as soon as I finished my Open Water, I enrolled straight into my Explorer 30 programme and had the pleasure of having Mati as our instructor once again. All in all, I can’t recommend Roctopus enough, to anyone considering starting or continuing their dive journey, absolutely 100% go for it with Roctopus on Koh Tao… and if you get the chance to do a night dive - it was hands down one of the best experiences of my life!

I have completed my Open Water 20 and Explorer 30 with Roctopus. I planned to do Open Water only originally, so I think you can guess how much I liked it! We had Matias as our instructor (total group was 4) and he taught us everything we needed to know, with a perfect balance between fun and being very professional. The theoretical part contained a lot of information which made me feel very comfortable once entering the ocean. Whenever I had any concerns I could always go to Mati and he would help me with everything needed. Being so excited after the Open Water, I wanted to do the Explorer 30 course directly afterwards. Mati was very flexible and changed his schedule to teach us this course as well, which was a lot of fun (including a spectacular night dive and wreck dive!) All in all, I would definitely recommend Roctopus!
