I recently successfully completed my IDC at Crystal Dive Koh Tao. I would like to thank the course directors Matt and Andrea for going above and beyond and investing so much time in our success. Crystal Dive have 5 star facilities, offer the best support and mentoring, the Instructor Examination was a fun experience and each candidate was very well prepared. I just finished my IDC with Black Turtle. The level of guidance we received from our Course Director Lucas was truly outstanding. He was available all the time and they were willing to share his experience and knowledge with us. A special thanks to Beard, Jake and Batu for their support. They helped me not only refining my skills but also to excel in the Instructor Exam.

I finished my Divemaster course at Black Turtle Dive in November/2023. During my DMC, I was really amazed by the professionalism of this Dive School. And of course, I continued with the Instructor Development Course. Again, I understand that their instructional approach, professionalism and perfect scheduling skills made my IDC very fruitful and fun journey. I have no regrets and I'm planning to go for MSDT and other speciality courses with BTD. Special thanks to our course directors Kieran Hooley (a.k.a Beard) and Matt Bolton, also staff instructors Batuhan Ganiz, Yoan and Jake Molnar. (a.k.a. Molnar) They were amazing. They have taught us more than everything not only to score high in instructor exams; but also firstly to be a good instructor. Their feedbacks were so precise, supportive and timely. Besides recreational diver levels, if you want to be a dive professional and go beyond, this is the place to go. You will never regret!

I recently completed my IDC with Black Turtle, after researching several options for instructor training on the island. The decision to go with BTD / IDC Koh Tao was 100% the correct choice. Expert Course Directors and Staff Instructors helped me and my group excel at our Instructor Exam where we were without a doubt the best prepared candidates. I had an incredible experience with IDC Koh Tao. I did the Divemaster program with Beard in December, worked as a DM for 3 months, and then did IDC with Lucas and Matt in April. The quality of the education and the amount of preparation I received made the Instructor Exams seem like a breeze, and I feel like I’ve really gained the skills and confidence to work as a dive professional. They were really great at giving each person the amount of focus and attention they needed to help them succeed throughout the courses, and the foundations of ocean conservation and how to be an environmentally conscious diver were awesome! Can’t speak highly enough of the experiences I had with them, and I’m really looking forward going back to Koh Tao next season to work as a scuba instructor!

I did all my pro-level training at BTD and couldn’t recommend it enough, especially the IDC. We had the best course directors ever, Beard and Lucas, who are both very calm resulting in a comfortable learning environment, while also being very detailed and precise, particularly about PADI standards. I’m not going to lie the first few presentations were tough as I lacked confidence in myself however Lucas, Beard and staff instructor Oso were very knowledgeable and helped me grow more confident giving presentations in the classroom as well as during our confined and open water sessions. Initially, the hours may seem long but in comparison to other dive centers, the time management and how the course is scheduled at BTD allows for a lot more work to be done in a shorter period of time. This was beneficial to me personally as I had a lot of time to practice more skills and learn from my mistakes. BTD goes above and beyond PADI standards and properly prepares you for the IE which was a total breeze. Not only did Lucas and Beard prepare us for the IE but they also offered more presentations and knowledge for our future diving careers such as more insight on dive equipment, the importance of buoyancy for marine life as well as how to market ourselves as dive professionals on social media. I also did my MSDT with them which was a lot of fun. If you’re considering a career in diving, BTD is the place. The dive center is well organised and managed, the course directors are perfect and so are the friendships you build during the course. You also get an opportunity to team teach with more experienced instructors which can help you develop your own teaching style and gain some experience.

I just completed IDC with Blackturtle dive in June 2023. I would like to say thank you to Matt bolton, Beard and Colleen for the amazing training. They helped me to develop my knowledges and skills during the course. My friends and I were trained so well with high standards and we were so ready in the IE. I would highly recommend to take the course here either entry level or professional level. You won’t be disappointed and you’ll become a better diver.

I did my Staff Instructor with IDC Koh Tao and it was a wonderful experience.
