We
just
finished
a
2
day,
1
night
liveaboard
with
Khao
Lak
Explorer
on
the
Mv
Lapat
boat.
We
did
our
Advanced
Open
Water
Certification
with
diving
instructor
Tom.
Overall
our
experience
was
fantastic.
From
dealing
with
Theo
for
booking,
and
Gaby
the
day
before
for
the
equipment
preparation,
everything
was
very
clear
and
efficient.
Pickups
to
and
from
our
hotel
were
easy,
straight
forward
and
on
time.
Our
diving
experience
on
the
liveaboard
was
amazing.
I
can
absolutely
say
that
Tom
(our
diving
instructor)
went
above
and
beyond
for
us,
both
on
the
boat
and
during
our
dives.
He
provided
world
class
instruction
and
knowledge
about
diving,
PADI,
the
dive
sites,
fish,
safety,
and
absolutely
everything
we
asked
of
him.
He
is
so
passionate
about
diving
and
shared
his
passion
with
us.
I
would
give
Tom
10/5
stars
for
our
experience
and
we
cannot
thank
him
enough. We
would
like
to
thank
Tom
sincerely
for
all
his
hard
work,
attention
to
detail,
and
passion.
His
knowledge
and
expertise
gave
us
6
amazing
dives
and
helped
improve
our
skills
and
confidence
as
newly
advanced
divers.
He
kept
us
safe
underwater
and
gave
us
all
the
tools
to
continue
to
advance
in
our
diving
careers.
I
have
no
feedback
on
what
he
could
have
done
better,
he
was
absolutely
superb.
Of
all
of
the
dives
we
have
done
in
different
areas
in
the
world,
Tom
has
been
our
best
guide
and
instructor.
One
day
we
are
going
to
dive
with
him
again
and
we
look
forward
to
continuing
to
learn
and
work
on
the
skills
and
the
lessons
he
taught
us.
We
did
have
one
issue
when
we
received
our
shoes
back
from
the
speedboat.
They
took
them
from
us
on
day
1,
saying
“no
shoes
on
the
boat”
and
there
was
no
communication
what
would
be
done
with
them.
We
are
backpacking
and
they
are
our
only
pair
of
shoes,
but
we
went
with
it
because
we
trusted
the
company.
When
we
arrived
back
to
shore
we
found
our
only
shoes
(running
shoes,
not
flip
flops)
soaking
wet
and
covered
in
sand.
This
is
not
the
condition
we
left
them
in.
It’s
extremely
frustrating
and
disappointing.
The
fine
sand
is
in
our
shoes
and
it
is
too
late
to
dry
them
as
the
sun
is
down.
As
I
mentioned,
we
are
backpacking
and
we
have
a
travel
day
tomorrow
that
now
we
will
need
to
do
with
soaking
wet
shoes.
We
were
very
frustrated
and
expressed
our
concern
to
the
company,
in
hopes
this
would
not
happen
to
any
other
guests.
We
felt
that
our
belongings
were
not
treated
with
care
or
respect.
How
a
complaint
is
handled
really
determines
the
quality
of
a
company.
Within
30
minutes
of
my
email,
Khao
Lak
Explorer
replied,
apologizing
heavily
for
what
happened.
As
they
work
with
partners
(Similian
Seven
Sea
Club
in
this
case)
and
do
not
have
their
own
boats,
they
explained
that
the
partner
company
had
been
in
charge
of
the
shoes.
However,
they
took
ownership
and
responsibility
for
what
happened,
offering
many
solutions.
Theo,
the
manager,
even
called
us,
offering
to
come
get
our
shoes
that
evening
to
dry
them,
and
going
to
a
store
near
our
hotel
to
see
what
their
hours
were
if
we
needed
to
get
new
shoes
for
our
journey.
This
was
all
occurring
at
around
7:30
pm.
Thank
you
to
the
team
at
Khao
Lak
Explorer
for
taking
ownership
of
the
issue
and
for
caring
so
much
to
help
us
resolve
it.
All
the
advice
and
recommendations
were
really
really
appreciated.
It
meant
a
lot
to
my
husband
and
I
that
our
concerns
were
taken
seriously
and
all
steps
to
ensure
it
did
not
happen
again
to
other
guests
were
taken.
After
the
shoe
incident
we
had
thought
we
would
be
leaving
a
lower
star
review,
and
were
sad
to
finish
such
a
fantastic
trip
on
a
negative
note.
However,
the
team
handled
the
complaint
with
grace
and
as
I
said,
did
everything
they
could
to
help
us.
They
said
they
would
be
following
up
with
the
partner
company
and
would
not
be
using
them
until
they
could
guarantee
that
this
would
not
happen
again.
These
are
the
qualities
of
a
5-star
company.
Thank
you
Tom,
and
the
whole
team
at
Khao
Lak
Explorer
for
a
great
experience
on
our
first
liveaboard
and
for
the
incredible
dives
at
Richelieu
Rock
and
Koh
Bon!
World
class!
