The old governor house. More than 100 years old, beautiful garden and nice rooms with some furniture and decoration. If you are in Kantang it is worth to visit!! Almost all info is in Thai, but it is just a nice building to see. The statue of the governor is the governor who was married a few times, had houses in Ranong and Penang (Malaysia) He is responsable for the first rubbertree in Thailand: He took ik from there, back to Kantang. It still can be seen...well sort of, seems to be the third one, but all from the same old tree. He is burried in Ranong, on donated land that the family got from the King at that time.

A museum dedicated to one of The older governor of Trang province who shifted the city from Trang to Kantang. The house use to be used by him. It’s a pretty old house made of wood. Decently maintained. However the lack of funds could be observed. Overall a place to visit if you are interested in history of local place.

Anyone who loves old houses and the history of the Andaman strait towns will appreciate this mansion, which is a neglected national treasure. It was free entry also. There are still some period furniture pieces to give a feel for its heyday. Go see before the termites eat it all.

It's a bit run down and doesn't have many items inside but the photos on the walls are very interesting and give a snapshot of what life was like for the governor.

It's temporary closed until further notice. Not certain if it's part of COViD-19 preventive measures.

An interesting little tour. I can’t help but point out that a visit from the termite sprayers would help in its preservation - many planks have been damaged by termites /woodworm, I have seen older places with less damage Loss of a star as I would like to see a bigger thing made of the garden and what is the building above this?
