Very beautiful time of the year. Thousands of lanterns decorated lighting up the cooling night. This is for Yi Peng festival (Around mid Nov.) It was totally stunning!! Totally recommended!!! Parking along side the road, (quite plenty)

Landmark of Lumphun city with statue of Princess Chamathewi in front the the ancient wall. The festival of colorful lamp has started. People donate money and get the Lanna design lamps-like, write down there prayer and hang their lamp on the cable which provided all around the yard.

The blend of beauty, sacred, and spiritual. The monument is right in the middle of the city welcoming visitors to the land that was once Lanna kingdom. Best time to visit is always December and January. Else the weather maybe too hot for many.

Just rest and photo stop for me. Rather quiet when I was there in the morning. Sellers of lottery ticket and life birds were present. Some lights were being put up for some festival I think. Not too impressive but nice to if u know the history of the monument.

Beautiful little monument to a great queen, it is a pity that the murals behind the statue are not looked after and a few not lit as the info signs are not lit fir each one

The monument to the legendary Queen Cham Dhavi, or Cama Devi? First ruler of Haripunchai. I was told people come to pray to her, in the hopes of conceiving. Amazing numbers of lanterns on show, part of preparation for Loy Krathong

This year went after Loy Kratong because the Lantern Festival was extended (it usually ends on Loy Kratong day). Even on the weekend only a few people wandering around, great to avoid crowds. Parking with a car is still a bit of a challenge though.
