Located on Yarang Road on Yarang-Pattani route in Pattani Mucipality, this is the most beautiful and largest Mosques in Thailand. Built in 1954, the construction of this mosque took almost nine years. It is the centre for religious ceremonies to be performed by the Muslims in the south. The architecture is western, with similarity to the Taj Mahal of India. With the big dome in the centre, there are four surrounding small ones with two finerets. A big pond is in front of the mosque and inside is a large hall and two sided corridors.

This place is one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in Thailand.  It has a large, central dome surrounded by four smaller ones and two minarets. The mosque contains a large prayer hall and long corridors. It is fronted by a big pond. When i see the mosque i remember Taj Mahal in India because i think the architecture has some similarity with Taj Mahal. May Allah Subhanahu wata'ala bless all our Muslim brothers and sisters in Pattani.

As a tourist, I think I like pattani better than hat yai due to muslim population. The mosque is big with history. They have different culture here. It looks stunning. Kept well but not fully maintained. People here are all friendly and kind. 🫰🏻 will come again next time by car

What a beautiful grand mosque! I was lucky to enjoy its magnificent exterior not only during the perfect sunny day, but also during Eid when many families came in their matching holiday costumes.

"I recently embarked on a journey from Songkhla to Su-ngai Kolok, and one of the standout highlights was our stop at Pattani Central Mosque. The mosque, a true architectural marvel, surpassed expectations with its immaculate cleanliness, shiny floors, and the natural flow of air through its open doors and windows. The design allowed for a serene and refreshing atmosphere, enhancing the overall spiritual experience. What made this mosque even more remarkable was its multifunctional nature. Beyond being a place for prayer, it served as a comprehensive community center. The vast land surrounding the mosque was dotted with numerous food stalls, each offering a delightful array of local cuisine. It wasn't just a place to pray; it was a hub for social interaction, gastronomic exploration, and relaxation. The presence of well-maintained washrooms and designated rest areas further emphasized the mosque's role as a community focal point. It became evident that this mosque was designed not only for spiritual practices but also for broader community functions. The seamless integration of cultural, social, and spiritual elements showcased a thoughtful approach to architecture, making it more than just a place of worship. As we continued our journey, this unexpected gem left a lasting impression, challenging preconceived notions and adding a deeper layer to the cultural exploration of Thailand."

Must visit place when visiting Pattani province. The mosque is considered to be the iconic symbol of Islam in Thailand and considered to be the most beautiful mosque in Thailand as well(?). Inside the mosque is not that wide compare to other grand mosques in Thailand, but its design is spectacular and unique that well represented Pattani and 3 border provinces of Thailand.
