This beach could be fantastic but there is obviously nothing being done to keep it clean, tidy and safe. So dirty it presents a hazard for walking barefoot. Feral dogs everywhere - with new litters on the way.. obviously nothing being done to control the population.

Serene beautiful beach, not touristy yet. Beware of the monkeys though. Best visiting times are dusk and dawn so you won't get sunburn.

Samila Beach 29-2-2024 The beach is beautiful Clean - quiet - lots of beautiful old trees But not for swimming My experience in Samila Beach and Chalatat Beach. These are the best places to relax and unwind. Many stalls sell souvenirs and food But at four in the evening the beach is full of locals I enjoyed the peace and fresh air Beautiful mermaids

Such a lovely beach and not too crowded. Local shops and food sellers on the beach were not so hard-sell. I Love this beach a lot.

A good place to relax and unwind and just enjoy the sound of the waves hitting against the white sands. The mermaid statue is a popular attraction among tourists. Can do horse riding or take photo on a horse or just enjoy a coconut drink while watching the beautiful scenery.

Samila Beach, or some people call it Laem Samila, is a clean area, a sandy beach, and there are many activities to do. Walk around, fly a kite, play in the water, play football, or do other types of exercise. In the city It is considered a good place to relax. The area has food to choose from. Looks like it's safe and not dangerous. The beach is public and anyone can come. The atmosphere is good. Arrived on 2.3.2024

Good spot to take lots of pictures and learn a bit of their folklores. Not overly crowded for a nice stroll except for the statues. I tried some of the food there (coconut ice cream, fried food, etc) and it's quite tasty.

Things To Do @ Samila Beach (แหลมสมิหลา) ‍️️ which is about 2.5 km from the fresh market ie. Thalat Supsin or Thalat Sot Thetsaban It’s now trending for the Thai locals to enjoy picnic style or food truck local Thai breakfast at Samila beach ️️ SiennyLovesDrawing loves & enjoyed her tasty local Thai breakfast here & learnt from her tour guide, Kuhn M to end her Thai breakfast with a hot Thai tea ~ Yes , the local Thai culture which similar to Chinese culture too She has enjoyed local Thai breakfast here with friends ~ Thai Nasi Kerabu (It serves with purple rice, as compared to butterfly pea rice in Malaysia ), Thai purple chicken porridge & Thai egg pancake breakfast. She loves her cuppa of Macchiato All foods from the local Thai staffs & food trucks by the Samila beach ️️ It’s well known for its white sandy beach, shady pine groves & the golden mermaid statue ~ A prime spot of Songkhla’s symbol as momento Read more of her review at Golden Mermaid Statue TripAdvisor page ya ️ East of mermaid statue is another Ko Nu & Ko Maeo statue, a cat sitting on tail & looking at a mouse that holding an orb in its mouth. There is a plaque with a story behind these sculptures ie. A local fable about a dog, a cat & a mouse which all wished to escape from a ship to return back to dryland & their home at Songkhla Visitors can opt for a pony ride on the sandy beach especially those with kids Do enjoy the beach swing that overlooking the Ko Nu & Ko Maeo aka Cat ️ & Rat ️ islands & lovely comfy with the wind blowing Before leaving the beach, do enjoy some shopping ️ for souvenirs eg. Beach pants, T-shirts, seashell souvenirs etc. Hmm…Do a slight bargain with the Thai sellers since this is a famous tourist spot. Ohh ya…Each of the stalls here with toilet & each entry for THB 5 or 10. If you’re their customers, toilet entry ya Then, enjoyed a songthaew ride to the nearby Khao Kao Seng (เขาเก้าเส้ง) Viewpoint & a rock that the locals call it “Hua Nai Raeng”. Come here twice in a year. Personally I like this beautiful beach with clear water, fine sand, windy, walking along the beach while enjoy local coconut ice cream. The statue of mermaid, cat, mouse & black stone each represented an interesting story. Crowded at weekend and shops are open too. 2nd came on weekdays, less shop & stall are open for business. Bring umbrella & cap especially on hot noon.

The sandy beach is quite dirty. The restaurant prices are high and only sell seafood, but there are plenty of vendors with more affordable choices and good icecream. The waves are rough, so no swimming. Incomparable with the beaches up northeast towards Surat Thani and the west coast of course. But worth a stop.

Beautiful beaches with white sand and clear water. The water is not too deep, and is suitable for children. Quite busy on weekends and evenings. 🏄🏻‍♂️🌴

Imagine beautiful long sandy beach like the one you can see in Miami. There are actually two beaches connecting at the mermaid sculpture. Personally, I prefer starting taking a walk from the mermaid to the end of the shorter beach called Samila, while the other is called Chalathat. If you are a sunset collector, you come to the right place. Peace ✌🏼

Nice place for horse riding, only 150baht for a horse ride along the beach. Very friendly horse guiders, my kids enjoy so much and ride 4 rounds.

Didn't stay long enough to see what this place has to offer, but we got to see and have photos at the place' famous mermaid statue. Expect to see monkeys around the place. There are usual food and drink stalls around, mats for rent and horseback riding.

one of the must-visit places. many shops on the side of the road selling local food & drinks.. quite a lot of parking.. clean beach & beautiful view.. only stray dogs roam quite a lot in the beach area looking for food from tourists.. overall recommended👍🏻

Very pretty beach, however not good for swimming. There are snack sellers and several clothing shops, but if you want to eat a meal, you need to go a little farther along the peninsula to where the restaurants are. You can ride a horse along the beach. Toilets are ok, and cost 5b. There were a few tour busses stopped at the beach while I was there, so the area around the statue was really crowded, but there's enough room to spread out. There's a 7-11 right there and Amazon Cafe across the street.

It's like normal beach side with stall and food. There are kite, riding house activities but definitely not recommend to swim. Not bad

Long stretched beach with lots of spaces. Though you will find lots of ppl, there will be place for you to just sit and enjoy. It has free public parking nearby with lots of spots. If full, you can just park along the road. Wish Bangkok has a place like this

Well, after visiting some traditional market, modern market. Now come to beach, yap Samila Beach. If i am not mistake, corellation among Samila Beach and Songkhla City is, Samila Beach is situated in Songkhla City. Yet, I am not visiting another places in Songkhla City, just Samila Beach only. Then I can say Wow, the waves of this beach is too high and risk and also wind blow too. How to describe then.. 😁 For sure, every edge of beach settled by red marked or red flag, it means that DANGEROUS. Be carefull, if you want to take picture no need to close to the waves. 😁
