It is in the Sukothai historical park. it has a monument and statue of the great king of the Sukothai kingdom

Not for me to describe as I am not familiar with the history. This is a great place to visit and take a peep into the past of Thailand.

King Ramkhamhaeng Monument and Songkran; just rinse with water but only his feet for good luck.

The monument is in the Sukothai Historic Park. You are free to wander among these ancient ruins with spectacular Buddha statues everywhere. Uncrowded, serene with water filled moats and wonderful ambience. A place to relax, absorb history and amble out cycle around for a full day. Quite extraordinary and personal.

Beautiful statue to the third king of the Sukhothai kingdom. He developed the current Thai writing system, so quite an important figure in history. Occasionally there will be dance performances in front of the statue.
