Sally wasn't able to make it but Jim gave us a very interactive and fun class. The class consists of picking the dish you want to cook, learning about the ingredients, preparing/chopping and combining the ingredients, cooking it under his supervision, and then eating. Learning the proper way to cook with a wok was probably my favorite part Value-wise it was worth it since we got a ride to and from our hotel, a 4 dish meal made from fresh ingredients, drinks and a very interactive cooking classes. I've definitely paid much more for the same food back in Canada except it didnt taste as good as what we made in class

The cooking class was very entertaining and insightful. We learned a lot about the Thai cousine and got to learn how to cook our favorite dishes. I can only recommend this weather you can cook or not it will be fun. All 4 dishes we prepared tasted better than most of the food we had in restaurants around our hotel. You get to learn what ingredients to look out for and how you can make those dishes back home. And a great activity to do if the weather has you inside anyway.

I don’t know where to start: this was the most fun we had in Thailand! I booked a session with Jim as a Christmas present for my boyfriend and another couple of friends joined us. My boyfriend does these sort of classes in every country he visits and even he says it was the best one he did so far! I looked at a few other cooking classes, and there was one that was just 5 mins away from our hotel, but I am super happy I went with this one. Our group’s cooking experience ranged from none to home cook, and Jim made all of us feel at ease while teaching us the basics of Thai cooking. It also helps that he is HILARIOUS, the man has jokes! The set up was very professional: all stations were ready for us beforehand and all the ingredients; we had aprons and bandanas and notes for us. He also had an assistant who’d help us out while he instructed. Jim took his time introducing the ingredients to us, also adding where we’d find them and the alternatives for when we’re back home, he also told us about the logic behind everything. At the end of the course we ate the things we prepared and boy it was soooo good! I highly recommend this to everyone who comes to Phuket. Honestly the best time ever. And for this price you learn something new about the Thai cuisine and traditions AND get a looot of food. We couldn’t finish it, they give you cups to take home whatever you cook. Dishes we prepared: - Tom yum soup (with variations) - Green curry - Pad Thai - Mango sticky rice

What a great experience. My wife, kids and I did a cooking class with Jim in December 2022. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Phuket. Jim was not only fantastic at explaining all of the ingredients and techniques, but he was also very entertaining. We cooked four dishes which culminated in a very tasty lunch. Tom Yum soup, green curry with chicken, Pad Thai and sticky rice with mango. If you enjoy cooking, you will love Kata Thai Cooking Class. I highly recommend it.

Not only did we learn how to cook great food but we had the best teacher. Thank you so much Jim for your hospitality, talk about larger than life character! Definitely recommend going on an empty stomach so you can eat your amazing cooking (but they do provide doggy bags just in case).

The best part of my birthday was attending this class. It was so fun and a wonderful learning experience. The best Pad Thai I’ve had since landing in Phuket. Can you freaking believe that? The owners are super friendly and sweet. Would recommend everyone try this class. I love how Jim made the sticky rice with natural food coloring ie butterfly pea=blue, red cabbage =purple, etc. also they are huge dog lovers and rescue advocates too! Fun fun fun! They run a very clean facility!!! Can’t wait to recreate these recipes and make Jim proud lol

Everyone has posted photos of their cooking in class already so I’d like to upload a photo of my Thai green curry that I made at home months after joining the cooking class with Jim. Guess what? I could still make it as delicious as the one I cooked in the class since Jim made it really easy to understand and memorize thanks to his great teaching techniques and personality. I’m hoping to go back to Phuket soon to study more about Thai cuisine at Kata cooking class and strongly recommend this place to all of you guys. Gem Nguyen

Wow, it was so lovely!! I loved it from the begging, Jim was so nice and caring. He also has a great personality, such a great humor. The class was so much fun, it was totally worth the price. This cooking class was one of the highlights of our trip in Phuket! Jim was our instructor and he made the class so interactive, exciting, and informative. Jim took the time to know each one of his students and made each person feel included. Not to mention, the price of the class is very fair compared to other cooking classes. The class consisted of learning about each ingredient and why it’s important. We then prepared the ingredients as a class and each cooked a 4 course meal.The food was excellent and we will definitely be cooking these recipes back at home. I would highly recommend this class if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed, Jim and sally are amazing!

We had an amazing time with them. We had a lot of fun and also learnt a lot about how to cook so many dishes. We can wait to cook these dishes for our families when we are back at home. Most amazing cooking class I’ve ever taken. Jim and Sally are absolutely amazing teachers , funny and kind and very considerate for accomadations (i am a vegetarian and we also had a vegan in class). You cook so much food, you can take some home. Super super recommended!

Phenomenal cooking school. Jim is a fun and funny guy. His antics and jokes make the class amazingly fun. I was only able to attend an hour of his night class because a stomach bug got me. Jim didn't charge me, and his assistant brought me back to my hotel. 5 stars is for excellent service. Looking forward to coming back to Phuket so I can attend this class next time.

The place is nice, the chef (Jim) was very funny and friendly. You have all the instruments and ingredients to make the recipes. the food excellent. If you want to have a good time, learn new recipes and discover new ingredients, this is the place. It was a very fun class. Good Thai food

Jim was very entertaining and knowledgeable in thai food. My husband and I each had one of our twin 6 year old as helper. Our girls enjoyed the cooking and banter. And yes food was delicious. Now I know what I was doing wrong in Australia.

This was a fantastic class - I really enjoyed it. I did another Thai cooking class in Chiang Mai, but the food from this class was 3x better and the recipes felt 5x more dialed-in. I especially loved the attention to the order in which everything was cooked and the education on the first principles of ingredients, layering flavors, and creating balance
