Please don't tell yourself the elephants look happy and you're doing them a favour by visiting. They seem exploited for us, the tourists. A real sanctuary doesnot operate this way.

Best experience ever! Highly recommended. You can get up close with the elephants, and the guides walk you around and give you the history, let you hang out with the elephants. You will prepare the food, feed them, and the shower with them, and then you will make papaya salad to compliment the lunch the provide. It was a very remarkable experience. All the staff were extremely friendly, kind, and you can see their love for the elephants. Our guides were Angie and Ticha, they were amazing. They don’t get supported by the government, only by tourism and they have a small store (takes credit cards, 3% up charge, common in Thai). They have restrooms and showers (make sure not to forget your towels).

We had a wonderful experience at this elephant sanctuary this morning. They were punctual, collected us from our hotel and taught us all about the elephants. The staff was great with our young children and all very friendly. The lunch was great too. Next time we're in Samui we'll be back.

I cannot rate this sanctuary highly enough. Please don't ride elephants in Thailand, go to support places like this that save them. We helped make their lunch, feed them, bath them and coat them in mud. It was magical. I'd happily give up my day job and do this for the rest of my life.

EJS really does feel like an ethical sanctuary from the moment you arrive. All of the activities you hear about which could harm these beautiful animals dont exist here. Only 4 elephants at this camp and all looked in fabulous condition and very relaxed about life. We had the opportunity to feed, carry out a medical check and bath with them. At the end of the trip the camp put on a traditional buffet which was also great. Well worth a half day out if you have the time.

This was hands down one the most beautiful day trips I’ve had. From start to finish , I did this trip alone and it never felt that way. The staff , the facilities and the information was 10/10. They took so many photos of us which will be memories to keep forever. We started by making the food and feeding them , the mud and bathing was great but it was the staff that really made it all very fun two. I did many islands in Thailand and I’m so happy I choice to go to this sanctuary. The pregnant elephant just blew my mind too. Thank you for a amazing day keep doing the amazing work with the elephants

This was the one of the best activities on my Chiang Mai trip. The ride to and from the sanctuary were a bit long lasting from 1-1.5 hours but if you’re sharing a truck with fun and friendly people like I was, the commute will be no issue at all. At the sanctuary we got to feed, pet, and wash the elephants. The elephants were so cute and friendly, the baby elephant was funny too. They looked very happy and had a playful relationship with the staff, you can tell they treat the animals very well here. I highly recommend visiting this sanctuary, I had so much fun.

We did the half day tour and it was very good. Not only do you get to feed, touch and had a mud bath with the elephants but you learn all about them and how the sanctuary look after the elephants. A great cause all funded by themselves and tourists. The guides there really care for the elephants. A must go.

Fantastic day out! Expensive but worth every penny. Staff are superb and make for a really unmissable experience. Elephants look to be well cared for and happy. Make sure to take your camera as there's loads of opportunities for close ups with the elephants. You get to feed them, wash them and even give them a mud bath. Not to be missed, this was the highlight of our holiday.

Amazing day from start to finish....guide was fantastic definitely one for the memory bank . I feel the very few negative reviews they have received are completely unfounded and come from either a malicous perspective or from a general nut job.

An amazing place with a couple of rescued elephants. You can go for a full tour or a 1 hr feeding session. Come and support the sanctuary, instead of typical elephant rides where these animals may be mistreated. It was a great experience and you can go rain or shine. Great activity for kids!

Lovely place. Strongly recommend. Good attitude to animals, they save elephants from working on riding, carrying logs, Circus. You will feed elephants with watermelons, may hug and touch them. A guide will give a detailed information about particular elephants and in general. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere, you will be offered free drinks, included in ticket's price. Nice place to visit, suitable for families with kids 👍🏼

An absolutely lovely day, we prepared food and fed the elephants, learnt a fair bit along the way. This sanctuary is rescuing work elephants from horrible situations, and they need our support, one day hopefully there won't be a need for these sanctuarys but until then. There was no riding or anything touristy here, it's all about the elephants and caring for them.

Not only you get to spend time up close with the gentle elephant but also the foundation is a big part of rescuing elephants from logging life and hard work, and show 🎪business. So please visit here and donate to the foundation it really helps elephants to have a more nature connected live and peaceful retirement and free them from hard life and cruelty of training.

This was an unforgettable experience. The owners and staff set up a very professional experience, complete with free professional photos being taken throughout the day that we downloaded right when we got home. We were able to spend the whole afternoon touching, feeding, mud bath then swimming with and cleaning the elephants. They’re very gentle and used to humans being around them. The staff made this enjoyable, funny, interactive and cared for our needs. The day ended with a huge buffet of food included in the ticket price. Free water on site and free gifts at the end for each person. We could see how well cared for the elephants are. One is actually pregnant too! Should give birth in the next year. (It’s December 22’ now) We’ll be returning for another rich experience.

Above and beyond my expectations. Settled on the feeding option for 900 baht instead of the half day for 3000. We got to feed the elephants fruit but also got to hang out with them for as long as we wanted after that. Touching them, taking pictures and learning. Out guid was very knowledgeable and had very good English to explain the history, treatment and overall lifestyle and attributes of these gorgeous animals. I really can’t recommend this place enough.

Animals were treated very well, they looked healthy and happy. Staff was very kind and all together a unique and unforgettable experience. Definetly worth the money especially since a lot of it is used to rescue more elephants!

A must do experience when in Thailand. Unlike many places we saw, the elephants were treated well and free to roam. You get to start the day by preparing some food for them while hearing about each elephants background. Followed by washing them and finally preparing your own meal before leaving.

Absolutely incredible. Like a dream come true. Angie and the team were amazing. We were given a brief on what to do and not do and then we....wait for it. We went and fed the elephants and had pictures and we then walked down their enclosure and were able to stand, touch and rub the elephants. We then had refreshments and went and got into the pools with the elephants and scrubbed them whilst they were laying in the water. Then we went into the mud pool to help the elephants with their mud pack. After showering we had some lovely food before our transport took us home. I cannot put into words how incredible of an experience this has been and one worth visiting samui for again in the future. The staff were incredible with pur wheelchair and assistance they provided us. An experience that would not of happened without them so thank you everybody. Please visit and if you can, donate. They care for elephants and get no government funding yet protect these beautiful animals. 10🌟

We loved this morning excursion. First of all they rescue elephants that would otherwise be dead. You don’t ride them here but you will interact with them. And the lunch was surprisingly good. Highly recommended, elephants are some of the sweetest animals. They are truly gentle giants but like anyone else can get agitated.

Truly a paradise on Earth. One of the best elephant spots in Thailand, really cares for the animals.

Amazing experience. Went for feeding only and was surprised that they let us get near the elephants afterwards for photo taking and teaching us more about the elephants. Our guide was patient with the kids and answered all their questions. The only thing is that there are loads of mosquitoes, but thankfully, they provided individual packs of mosquito repellent cream to each person. Would come again!

The tour was fun and informative. Our guide spoke great english and had lot of fun with us. Our group was small which allowed us each to spend more time with the 🐘 Feeding and washing the elephants, I even got a hug. Jay the photographer is very talented and made sure we all got beautiful shots with the elephants and all for free! My partner and I will be returning !

For me,feeding the elephant cost 800bath is a little bit pricey,it is really not that interesting.Anyway the staffs is friendly and knowledgeable, the elephants is taken care well.

The experience was amazing. I done the half day at 3000 baht if you can afford it is is worth it. Very up and personal experience and very hands on. We were supplied with a very good lunch as well. Water, tea and coffee on arrival. Staff were very friendly, funny and open to all elephant related questions and photographer was there as well.

A very special morning with a fun guide called Angie. We listened to talk about the elephants then prepared food for them and fed them, followed by watching them eat in the pastures and having some good photo opportunities We then put mud on them, messy but fun and then helped to wash it off. The tour finished with a lovely buffet lunch. A slightly expensive trip but absolutely worth it to see how the elephants are rescued and looked after. Thank you Angie for making us so interesting and fun.

Amazing experience with the elephants, but I've never been so close to one and be able to feed them amazing fruits. We got a nice guidance from Angie. Ask for her.

I loved this so much. I found our guide engaging and entertaining which makes for a much nicer experience. The photographer and rest of team made for a seamless morning. The experience with the elephants was magical and I felt ok because very conscious of the exploitation of animals but they prioritised the comfort of the animals over our enjoyment. The facilities are good and had a lovely lunch before departing. I have seen comments on the price but think tourists should be willing to pay this much for experiences like this because they would for an average lunch in Europe, or wherever home is. Time to give back to the places we visit.

Worst scam ever. They pretend to be a “sanctuary” where elephants are happy but it’s actually not. You pay 3000THB (!) to see elephants being mistreated, beaten and having their ears pulled when they don't do what the team wants. The main activity is feeding them, but I doubt they're very hungry when the 40-person groups go on all day and walk around them. The medicine cabinet with the words "medical supply for elephant" on it is such a joke that is shows what a money factory this place is destined to be.
