This was the best tour I have ever done. I did not know what to expect and this exceeded any expectations. First of all, my tour guide Pam was very knowledgeable and loved by the elephants. She is very sweet and a perfect photographer. She took like 200 photos on iPhone. This is a perfect habitat for rescued elephants that were very gentle. I could not ask for a better day. Highly recommend and ask for Pam as your guide. We fed the elephants, walked with them, spa them lol and played in river!!)))!!!

Fantastic day! We had an experience that will stay with us for a lifetime! Elephants are happy eating all the treats and playing in the mud! All the caretakers are kind, and guide is very informative! Pam’s English was great and she knew everything about the elephants! If you are looking for an ethical tour this is the one to choose! The included lunch was also delicious and the waterfall was beautiful :)

Brilliant trip with guide Tim to meet two elephants at a small sanctuary. There was just the two of us on the tour in a very comfortable 8 seater vehicle. Tim was very friendly and knowledgeable and took lots of photos of us which he sent later. After a delicious lunch we went to the Sticky Waterfall - absolutely amazing and fun. Highly recommend this tour company while in Chiang Mai.

Truly beautiful experience! Pam led us and taught us so much. The elephants roam free and are gently loved and well taken care of. A safe and ethical way to interact with these amazing animals! You are on the elephants terms-if they want to eat if they want to bathe! Lunch was delicious and Pam was a great photographer!

This is the best elephant sanctuary! Very ethical! They give the best care to the elephants. We had the best time with our 23 month old and 3.5 year old kids. The elephants were so special and all rescued from either circus, riding camp or a factory. They live a much better life now and it’s clear the second you see them. They are cared for so well. Lunch was also amazing. Can’t recommend this place enough. We will be back! Pam our guide was also amazing. She was so kind and great with our kids. Explained everything very well and was so welcoming. We then went to the most amazing waterfall. Everything was perfect.

Chiang Mai elephant legend was the most amazing experience. Starting from the moment Pam (our guide) picked us up from our hotel! Immediately Pam made us feel so welcomed and made us even more excited for this once in a lifetime experience. I love elephants so much and wanted to make sure I went to a sanctuary that was perfect for the most beautiful majestic creatures and I am beyond grateful I supported this beautiful Sanctuary. The elephants were so healthy looking and so happy. We had the pleasure of feeding them, giving them a mud bath and then bathing them in a river! We then ate the most delicious pad Thai I’ve had in Thailand so far! The sanctuary showed the utmost respect for the health and well-being of the elephants! You can just feel the love the mahouts have for the elephants. It was so beautiful to experience. I can’t wait to visit again! Thank you so so much Chiang Mai Elephant Legend for THE BEST experience!

I had such a great time with our tour guides Pam and Tim. The were very friendly and knowledgeable about the elephants. We were able to feed the elephants, make medicine balls (food) for them, play in the mud, and bathed them. Pam and Tim took many photos and emailed them to everyone that night. For lunch they fed us an excellent meal of Pad Thai and chicken. They also had a vegetarian option available if needed. After saying goodbye to the elephants they brought us to Sticky Waterfall. It was a nice break from the early afternoon heat climbing up and down the waterfall. I recommend anyone looking for a fun experience to see the elephants while staying in Chiang Mai to go through Chiang Mai Elephant Legend.

Incredible day seeing and feeding the elephants. Also getting a trip to sticky waterfall. Beautiful scenery and amazing people that are a part of this. Our tour guide Pam was brilliant and we couldn’t of asked for a better experience. The food is also lovely and authentic. The elephants here are free and rescued from previous traumatic living conditions. They are treated well at this sanctuary and it is so lovely to see such happy elephants. Would highly recommend!!

Ken is the man!!! We had the opportunity to a have a private tour with my wife, got to play with 3 elephants at the time ( yup just the 2 of us ). He’s the kindest human being around and his English is great. We couldn’t recommend this tour more. It’s as well verywell priced, which helps in the decision. Stay away from the large groups and get to spend a day with Ken that will also bring you to the waterfalls. He was once a Monk so during the drive, we had a very interesting chat on Buddhism. Should I go on?

All activities of this program treat elephants nicely, i came here with my family to learn about elephant life and tribe culture, for the tour like this should be supported by government for eco tourism policy, ethical tours in Chiangmai are not still popular enough, keep doing your tour for nature and community god bless.

Chiang mai elephant heritage is a preserved camp by Karen tribe community, it's such a nice place for experience about elephant and community, these elephants used to work for logging and riding till now become a preserved elephant camp. It's such a good change for the Elephants for better life. Highly recommend !!!

There are many different types of Elephants tours in Chiangmai but i choose the ethical elephant tour for my frist elephant experience, it's so exciting for me to get closest to elephants. they're so adorable and enjoying bananas that we're feeding them int the same time we take a picture, Our tour guide such a very nice guy he has a lot of knowledge about elephant and culture of tribe community that we visited on the way back we go to the waterfall called sky curtain we spent a great time with amazing ethical elephant tour.

Always do your homework before booking, there are plenty of other sanctuaries that claim to be ethical but there is a lot going on that you do not see behind closed doors. Elephant heritage is completely transparent, the elephants are kept pretty much in sight all day and you can see the way the staff interact with the animals even when you're not 'supposed' to be looking. It's a community ran project and the passion from the staff really shows. I highly recommend this tour, it also has a really reasonable price of 1900 baht. Elephants pretty much got to do what they wanted, when they didnt want to be fed or bathed staff did not try and force them to participate. Truly great experience. Also, the tour guide, Ken, was just great - you will see why!
