We wanted to try deep sea fishing and went with a budget P-series boat. For first time anglers it was a good experience, our captain took us to several fishing spots around Racha Yai, some spots were not as good. Our captain made sure that if we didn't have anything on our hooks after 15 mins we would go to the next spot. All in all, we caught more than enough fish we had them for lunch on our boat and had a few more that we took to a local market to get deep fried when we got back to Patong. There was an incident on the boat where one of the guys' fishing rod broke from normal use. I quickly emailed Steve and let him know because there was a hefty fine if any of the equipment broke and my buddy was worried. Steve's quick reply, was don't worry and just enjoy the trip. We were given a pass and was grateful for that. All in all, I would definitely recommend Phuket Fishing Charters and Steve's great customer service. We are planning another trip back and we would not go with another fishing charter other than Phuket Fishing Charters. We would probably splurge a little bit more and go for a Phuket Promax boat and hope that could take us to better fishing spots for bigger fish. By the way, this review was long overdue, the trip was back in January.

Had an awesome day even though it was raining intermittently. Day started with a bit of confusion with finding mr whale but he was standing in the taxi both beside the toilets. After that everything was smooth sailing. First cast, got a massive mackerel, then a bunch of tuna. Did some bottom fishing got a bunch of groupers. Kids had a blast snorkeling around the bay. Crew cooked up an amazing lunch, we had to ask for seconds on our fried tuna (which we just caught) Highlight of the day was landing a massive sailfish!! Took the malinda 3, the crew was awesome and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing day.

Great experience from start to finish. I've used Phuket fishing charters three times now over the last two years and cannot speak more highly of the service, the efforts by the crew and captains. I have fished in many places over the world and Phuket fishing charters easily compares with the best. Highly recommended.

We had a private fishing charter, the Malinda, and we spent the entire day on the sea. The chef provided an exceptional lunch for us. My husband loves fishing and was able to catch so many fish. This was truly an experience i’ll never forget! Check out the tiktok I made from this day @dahalalia

DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. We scheduled a fishing trip on our last day in Thailand, for a group of 6 people, and they never came and picked us up for our trip. We confirmed with them the night before that they would pick us up at our hotel for 8am, and it was confirmed by Steve. We waited from 8am until 9:45am, called Steve multiple times, WhatsApp'd him, and emailed him with no response and nobody every came to get us. What a waste of a day. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Great day spent fishing on one of the budget boats. The crew knew what to do and where to find fish. We had some slow patches, but that's what happens when trolling. Highlight of the day was the lunch they cooked on the boat. They used the fish we had caught that day and made sashimi, fish soup and fried fish. Awesome meal. 👌

The awesome Phuket ProMax 40ft speedboat 2x175hp purpose-built for fishing had everything we wanted. The skipper, Kim is as passionate and knows as much about top-level fishing as anybody that I have enjoyed fishing with anywhere in the world. We got out to Racha Noi fast, had the lines in, changed spots, changed gear, had over an hour of fishing before another boat arrived. Magic. Excellent day, good fishing, great boat and crew, and all under $1000 bucks between 4 of us.

We went out with Phuket Fishing Charters in February 2020. Kim was on board on showed us some of the remote fishing grounds around Phuket. Kim is a smart fisherman with broad knowledge about marine biology and passion for his technical equipment. This paid of and we caught a giant sailfish!! Thank you very much to Kim and his crew!

Fishing with Steve's crew was a superb day from start to finish. His new Phuket ProMax speedboat was fast and plenty of room at 40ft long. Apparently this is the only fast fishing boat in Phuket. This boat got us from spot to spot so fast, we spent so much more time with lines in the water. We had been fishing Racha Noi for over an hour before one of the boats that left the pier the same time turned up. They left to return an hour earlier too. Ha, we probably had 3 hours more fishing in the day! captain Kim and crew are exceptional fishermen and great hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. I had a sail fish on my bucket-list and Kim found one ! A second big fish got away but the fresh tuna and mackerel were keepers. Jigging for GT with quality gear wasn't successful this day nevermind that's fishin! The bottom fishing landed a couple of solid groupers we took back for bbq. We have fished in many countries and can definitely say, Kim, crew and boat are an excellent choice, can't find better, really. Special thanks to Steve for sound local advice. See you next year!

"Sensational Fishing Charter Company" Our day 4.11.19 started with ontime and courteous pickup and 25 minutes later we departed before time. Our boat was the new Malinda, a lovely Thai style cruiser. It was immaculately clean and kept tidy by our helpful crew all day. I was pretty happy there was a clean western toilet onboard, thank goodness, my worst fears over. Hubby and the boys are keen fishermen and were absolutely impressed by rhe quality of tackle and equipment as well as the attention from the Captain and deckies. Fishing was fun for the boys with a mixed bag in the morning but after some bottom fishing they trolled again and now we are telling everyone about the two sail fish landed late in the afternoon. Everybody happy, even me. Worth every dollar!! Thank you Phuket Fishing Charters!!!

Great to deal with the Phuket Fishing Charter specialists I chose Phuket Fishing Charters because I realised that Fishingbooker at the top of Google was a paid international website and with no local connections was a commission charging, bulk "booking for everywhere website" and the other search results were travel agents trying to book everything from cooking schools to shopping tours! What do these know about Phuket fishing? I just wanted sound local, on-ground information and this is Phuket Fishing Charters. Steve's years local knowledge about fishing in Phuket is impressive and he seems to know every fishing boat around the Chalong Pier. We finally decided on 2 days of fishing. One day to be on a private charter on one the P-Series boats which was the cheapest price for a charter boat in Phuket. Then after reading the Trip advisor reviews we couldn't help but go for the Phuket Promax fast speedboat with Captain Kim. The first day on the cheaper boat was quite a good day and such good value. Unbelievable 13,000 baht for all of us starting with our hotel pickup, ok boat with cabin, flybridge and fighting chair, the fishing gear, food and drink. The trolling was an easy few fresh tuna for lunch but the bottom fishing gave us some groupers to take back to cook for dinner,. The crew were very helpful and it was a pleasant day all up. We are still amazed at the cheap price for game fishing for a day with everything included. The next day was totally different. This speedboat was awesome. 40foot long, twin big engines, wide and it was a blast! We got to the furthermost fishing spot, Racha Noi so quickly and no tourist boats, nobody else there! and when Captain Kim got the lines and gear ready it was obvious we were fishing at a different level. checking fish finder, changing tackle, scanning for the big fish, we were obviously in for a serious day fishing. My first Giant Trevally and assorted reef fish in the morning and after lunch my dream came true and ticked off the sail fish box with a beauty. Over the moon and still grinning, boasting and bragging. Capt Kim, you are a legend! I am so glad that I found the real fishing charter company in Phuket, We had the best 2 days of fishing in Phuket anyone could ask for.

I booked Malinda 2 in Feb and had a great trip. Full day out trolling, bottom fishing, snorkeling, swimming and had a huge lunch. The crew were friendly and did everything they could to ensure we caught some fish. I would recommend going when the weather is good and it's the best season for the fish you want to target.

Great experience overall for 2 friends and me, will repeat if possible. Steve managed to book us a boat at last minute, pricing was competitive, we left at 8.30AM and come back by 5.30PM. Crew was nice, it was the first time fishing for my friends yet they managed to catch a few fishes. We got a nice red grouper that was cooked later in the evening.

We had an incredible fishing experience in Phuket. Our fishing trip was somewhat spontaneous and the guys at Phuket Fishing Charters were very accommodating to fitting us in during our short holiday, especially at such short notice. I couldn't recommend them more, thank you once again!
