Stayed at the lighthouse. Beautiful view from lvl 5. You can catch a sky full of stars at night and if you are lucky, a couple of shooting stars. The rooms, jacuzzi and private pool were great too. Mini bar on all 4 floors included and topped up each day so you won't be thirsty (beer, soda, perrier) or hungry (some chocolate, peanuts and chips) in the day. Restaurant was definitely pricier than town, maybe 3x, taste was great.

This review is based on my recent experience at the Racha that makes me believe this is one of the worst resorts in the world. First of all, their Chalong lounge and boat transfer are chaotic, the staff members do not provide adequate information and are indifferent towards guests. The space is tiny and people all squeeze inside. Once arrived, it’s another chaotic s**tshow where we have nowhere to sit and have to wander around for 20 mins before they call out your numbers. And we they so kindly choose to introduce the room to TWO groups of guests at the same time, so we have to wait by the sidewalk under sunlight for 5mins while the staff member does intro for other guests. I don’t believe any other luxury resort in the world would do this. Once we check into our room, things just start to get worse: Wi-Fi doesn’t work at all; SPA got completely booked for our duration of stay; requested a shaver on the “convenient” app they forced you to download and it came 10 hours later; two sets of lights in the room are broken; beach area packed with people coming for day tours. And the food, gosh everything is so bad. They figure it’s hard to find alternative options on the island so they just don’t care about the quality of the food they serve. Luckily we walked 15 mins to a nearby seafood restaurant and the food is much better. On our departure, the transfer boat was 30 mins late, then once we arrived at the Chalong pier we waited another 40 mins for the bags to arrive, and we nearly missed our flight because of this. To people still thinking this is a getaway paradise worth visiting- don’t go. Staying at the Racha could easily become your worst nightmare at Phuket. They are places that provide everything better with more reasonable price.

Nice villa, great and friendly staff, beautiful and private beach. I booked with social giver website which is the platform that participated hotels contribute 'half of the room charge' not from the profit! Super generous owner. The Staff and hotel's activities are arranged well. Swimming is best! I though visit the most beautiful island for diving why need to swim in the pool but I swim in the pool everyday. :) The diving area is not far but have to pay a bit high but private. Breakfast is great, on Sunday Morning it was buffet self-service, but on Monday mooring it was a la cart but we can ordered as we can. The speed boat service is nice too, even it has only 1 time a day but staying in the Racha hotel is not boring.

The hotel is situated in an unbelievably beautiful location. The beach is the best that we have ever seen and our room was perfect. The transfers ran smoothly and despite it being a small island we never found ourselves short of things to do. Having said this, I wouldn’t quite call this hotel luxury. The staff were friendly but could be better trained e.g. sometimes staff would not answer the phone when we called reception. We were told to order room service on the app but the first time we did they didn’t register our order so we ended up waiting over 1.5 hours and there was not even an apology, let alone compensation. Our room was generally cleaned to a good standard (the cleaner was also very nice) but the outdoor area had not been cleaned - there was a plaster left behind in the outdoor area by our pool when we arrived and it wasn’t cleaned up throughout our 5 night stay. The pool also required cleaning due to dead bugs, we requested this just once towards the beginning of our stay and the staff seemed delayed/reluctant to do this. The Fire grill restaurant had decent food. The other restaurants were okay but compared to the majority of restaurants we visited in Thailand, they left a little to be desired and we would often not receive what we asked for. Despite the resort's focus on sustainability, to our surprise, staff engaged in snorkeling excursions threw numerous cigarettes into the sea. At the end of our five night stay, and a considerable bill, our stay was overshadowed by a dispute over two coconuts which we had ordered and cancelled, which was met with unnecessary scrutiny. In summary, a beautiful hotel in a stunning location, but sub-standard service due to untrained staff let this hotel down.

beautiful clear blue sea, friendly stuff at bar / restaurant, the facilities could perhaps need a post-covid maintenance refresh, but the place is beautiful and in this period (January 2023) there are still few "day" tourists /cruisers coming from phuket. overall excellent value for money in the context of other tropical spots globally, relative to local Thai clearly food&bev and other services (SPA etc) is bit expensive .

We really enjoyed our 6 nights here. The team are a polished act. Stunning location and very nice villas. Food was very good and we particularly liked the grill restaurant. Aircon is set to fix at 22 degrees did feel that this needed to be set lower as it took a bit too long to cool down. Water was chrystal clear and plenty of fish to see. I am a committed snorkeller and ventured out along the left side of the bay, passed all the snorkellers and shallow water divers, passed the last row of boats and to the final point of the bay and then spent 20 minutes swimming with a very friendly turtle. Toward the end it passed me and I stroked its shell as it disappeared into open ocean. Spent a few hours trekking around the island inland not the most pristine around the village areas but plenty wildlife and loved seeing the many large monitor lizards. All in all loved the beach, the bay, the poole terrace and the attention to detail by the team. Thanks Racha.

Stunning hotel on an even more stunning beach! You can rent bikes, kayaks etc. direct with the hotel. The pool overlooks the beach and is beautiful during sunset. Villas are clean and spacious. Food was okay.

A perfect place to enjoy the beauties of Thailand and to relax. From the beginning everything was impeccable. The transportation, the beach, the views, the room, the service, the little details, the food, the spa, the dive shop and the atmosphere, the whole experience was wonderful. I would definitely come back! What a dream!

Didn’t go with them but was at the same port for another boat trip. I can say they look as good as any other operators here. Also I purchased some sunscreen and beer from the shop, they accept credit cards but add 3% surcharges, it is what it is really.

We stayed at The Racha with my family very recently, and had a really amazing time. The beach and nature that the resort is located in is beautiful. Cherisse, Jane, and Waen were so warm, welcoming, and hospitable. They helped us with any requests and questions we had, and were very kind and helpful. We hope to come back and see you again soon!

This is a very good hotel but I wouldn’t call it luxury. The villa with the ocean view is nice, roomy and well equipped. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Bay and beach are just amazing with white powdery sand, turquoise water and beautiful marine life. You can find stingrays, sea turtles ,sharks and many more. Hotel spa offers great treatments and massages. Special thanks to Nuch:) She is great! The only bad thing is the restaurant and the food. Sorry to say so but the food is quite bad. I love Thai cuisine and it’s hard to believe that the quality of the food and dishes they serve are so poor:( It should be improved because it’s a shame. Anyway it’s a great place to relax, peaceful and not so crowded.

The most amazing place I have ever met. Not only location is amazing, but also the staff is very friendly. I’ve stayed here nine days, so I got the complimentary transfer from Phuket- the very comfortable Mercedes. My Villa was very spacious, clean and well-equipped. There are restaurants located in the resort area- that offer delicious food at a reasonable price. The beach provides white sand; nevertheless, you can go snorkelling and admire the sea fauna and flora. The SPA offers high-quality massages. I’ll come back 😄

Overall we had a lovely stay at the hotel over Christmas, all the staff are incredibly attentive and friendly. The hotel is starting to look a little tired and in need of a spruce up but that didn’t take away from the overall experience. The major downside to the hotel is the commercial day trip boats and crowds that swarm the beach every day from Phuket which takes away from the relaxing “private island” feel we felt it would be. For example the hotel had to stop lending out kayaks and paddle boards between 10am - 4pm due to the busy crowds in the bay which was a shame.

What was good: - nice location with exclusive access to the beach and nice swimming pools - quality of breakfast buffet - interior of rooms What was not so good: - housekeeping forgot nearly everyday something (amenities or coffee not filled up for example) - staff on the beach wasn‘t attentive (used towels laying around for hours) - quality of lunch in Earth Cafe (childrens food heatet in the microwafe was just lukewarm, even after reclamation and heating again…) Summary: Five star prices, but no five star service. Unfortunately the money not really worth.

Super recommended👍👍👍 The hotel itself is amazing, clean and great hospitality. Great for couple as well as family with children. They have 2 restaurants for dinner and there are some restaurants in the island outside of the hotel (walking distance), so you will never get bored. The water in front of the hotel shines like crystal and can see far away in the water. You can see fishes above the water!! Water sports: Can borrow snorkeling set for free. And available for SUP and kayak after 15:00. To go: take taxi or grab (THB750-800) from Phuket international airport to Chalong pier. Should book hotels’s boat transfer from Chalong pier to the hotel. They have a lounge at the pier, so you can wait the boat comfortably. Will be back there definitely!

Lush landscape and beautiful setting next to the bay, and nice bathroom scented amenities. Unfortunately, the room is very dated and needs attention to general maintenance and appearance, the gym needs to have the air conditioner filter replaced and cleaned--smell is not pleasant. The wifi at this resort is terrible, their are so many networks--you constantly have to reconnect to a new one, entering the credentials each time and it is pitifully slow ALL the time. Some of the staff is very friendly but not nearly like the level we typically find in Thailand. Coupled with the challenges of getting to the resort, I would not return to this property--an overall disappointing experience.

There were too many problems to call my experience great, but it was ok. I'll start with the good: beautiful location, very nice staff, rooms were nice. Bad: the beach had too much trash, I never once saw staff cleaning it, but I saw guests picking up trash frequently. Many features in my room were not working- the coffee machine, the wifi, even my keykard didn't work. Finally the food was average at best. Overall it was not bad but it was not great. This hotel is advertised as luxory and it needs readjusting. Not bad, just needs work.

Terrible wifi and breakfast quality is bad. I saw 5 bugs flying on the same pastry. Overpriced food and drink. They titled themselves as a 5 star resort, but I have stayed dozen of 5 star hotels. The only 5 star about this place is the island itself. The resort doesn't seem to improve as I read the reviews from 7 months ago. People mentioned exactly the same problems (wifi/ terrible breakfast and not enough masks) and the manager always reply the same and here I am, experiencing the same issues.

The Racha is the best holiday destination I stayed with my girlfriend at the Racha resort for 2 nights on our anniversary and it was the best hotel and island destination ever , It is just perfect visiting this resort, from the beauty of nature to the luxurious hotel set-up to the best service ever with the most trained and professional staff that is not easy to find in Thailand - Nothing to complain about , we are super happy to spend few nights at the Racha and we will be back for sure ... Thank you The orange car Phuket.   you made our vacation in Phuket more exciting! Thank you guys - you are just a great host !

This is paradise on earth, wonderful well kept resort and garden, awesome views on clear blue and clean ocean, wonderful spacious rooms with private pool, great Thai and western food, very very kind staff, the resort is perfectly organized, even with a coral reef for snorkeling, the only problem is at the end of holidays you need to check out! The best luxury resort on Thai Island!

What a stunning resort. Pure luxury. The rooms are gorgeous, the property is well maintained, and the attention to the tiniest details blew us away. Even the toiletries were of good quality. The infinity pool is amazing - towels and cold water are provided by the pools and at the beach. The food is actually quite good. We read reviews that it was not up to par, but we found it to be quite good. The breakfast has a lot of variety, and they even served champagne with it, which was a first for me. My favorite bit however was the yoga shala, nestled inside their spa. It's such a beautiful setting - calm, peaceful, overlooking the ocean on one side, and gorgeous greenery on the other. It's a place I want to practice in, every single day. One of the best yoga shalas I've seen on my travels in Thailand. The only let down was the amount of garbage inside the otherwise clear ocean. We were looking forward to spending time in the ocean because the water is so clear. But we just couldn't. There was plastic everywhere. The resort does organise beach cleanups, but it was sad to see what we are doing to our oceans. Highly recommend this resort, I would love to come back!

Visited in Feb 2022. The beach is pristine. The staff is very warm and friendly. The hotel also offers equipment such as paddle boards and snorkelling masks for free. We also rode KTV around the beaches on the island which was super fun and adventurous. Definitely recommend to do the in-villa bbq: it was great value and food.

I had a wonderful two days at the Racha. The beach and the views on the island were stunning, and the entire place was extremely well kept. Staff were very friendly and one member even gave us help securing a different boat ride back home, as we wanted to spend more time on the island. We were told that there were still not as many visitors as usual due to the lingering effects of the pandemic, so our restaurant choices were more limited than they usually would have been, but the meals we had at the Earth Cafe were excellent. The view of the ocean from the main pool was amazing, and we could have spent an eternity there. Overall, I could not recommend this place more and would definitely choose to come here again in the future.
