This is an interesting location especially if you are interested in Thai history. It is an outdoor park and monument dedicated to King Mongkut, the 4th king of the Chakri dynasty. It has some monuments to the king and a large open plaza where many locals come for daily walking and out exercise. At the end of the park opposite the monument is the city shrine. It is a very pretty area surrounded by a small moat with fish and monkeys to feed. The shrine itself is also beautiful and inspires a moment of reverence.

Just a monument on very hot square during the day. People are coming there in late afternoon and evening.

The monument is well worth a visit, if you are in the area.

There is a museum underneath with a small but most excellent museum on King Rama IV. I had an English speaking guide. There were VR displays, hologram eclipses, loads of English translations, and it was empty when I went. A great starting point for Petchaburi as it explains how most of the important destinations.
