Even with some mask issues underwater, she helped us keep our cool and helped us overcome and learn from the experience! She, and the company are highly recommended by myself and my boyfriend. I started this experience as someone who's afraid of water. Worried my ears would block. And concerned I wouldn't be able to find my breath underwater. I'm now a qualified diver 🙌🏾 and LOVED it. If you're debating it, JUST DO IT! Our instructor Jose was amazing. She is able to be clear and communicates in that sort of way that cuts through your panic, keeps you calm and helps you to take your time to master the skills. As a teacher, I couldn't be more impressed with the way she covered all learning styles, different abilities which translated to the 3 different languages in our group. I’ve had the best few days! We started our trip diving with Oceansound, and it was the best start! Our amazing instructor Les made me feel so safe in the water (none of the four people on the course had ever been diving before) and it was a bit scary in the beginning as it was totally new, but Les really made it feel safe and calm. I loved that we only were four people per group, it made it feel much less stressful and Les could keep a very close eye on all of us when we were under water. It really was a whole new world down there, and I can’t wait to dive more during our trip in Asia! Thank you Oceansound and Les!

Ocean Sound is an amazing dive shop! They have a very welcoming and experienced team - every staff member we worked with was exceptional. My partner and I did a try dive and fun dive here two months ago. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to come back to Koh Tao and end our time in Thailand by getting our Advanced and Open Water certifications. We were always led in small group or with one-on-one instruction, which made for a great learning environment. We ended the trip with an unforgettable night dive led by Chris who was truly a wonderful instructor. He was the first person we met from Ocean Sound and was so helpful about helping us find the courses that worked best for us. Thank you Chris! Can’t recommend diving with this shop enough!

I used to dive with those big diving school in Koh Tao, but the experience with the ocean sound was absolutely amazing. I joined their reactive class while my boyfriend was taking his OW course. I was able to join their group and dive together. Thank you so much to my instructor Les; he was very patient with us and showed care in the details to make sure everyone understood and kept up the pace. I couldn't be happier to have Les as my instructor on my first dive after a couple of years since my last dive.

Coming to Koh Tao, as so many others, the search for the “ perfect” diving school seems overwhelming. As a complete novice when it came to diving we weren’t entirely sure what to look for, so we chose a couple diving centers that popped up and read the reviews. So if YOU, person reading, are on the hunt for a good diving school - then look no further, you have found the one. With absolute confidence and gratitude I can say the great rating is legit and well deserved. We came for our open water course but ended up doing some additional advanced adventure dives eg to get the 30m certification, which is a common theme if you look at the reviews. It’s addictive. Everyone we met at ocean sound has been nice, helpful and knowledgeable. It was easy to schedule relatively last minute. Further when I had problems with my ears due to a badly timed cold, it was no issue at all to reschedule the remaining dives at a later date. Thanks to Sam for that! They also organized an extra night dive for us the day of, which was really special. So no matter what happens the support is great. We couldn’t have wished for a better diving instructor.👌🏻 Chris was always calm and reassuring, we felt really safe with him to take the plunge. The teaching was excellent, and he was always willing to share his personal diving experience beyond the scope of the course. Professional, yet great fun like diving with a friend. Will be missed! First day of lessons in the pool was not done center but a communal diving pool, it wasn’t that busy though when we went, but that might have been luck. Even if it’s a lot of skills to learn it was great fun. The homework wasn’t that bad and we got some videos that made all the material a lot more approachable compared to the book. The diving boat they rent is really spacious and nice, equipment is well maintained and you have your own dive computer and compass. They also have 100% O2 on board and the diving insurance would cover the trip to a hyperbaric chamber in case of emergency, so you are as safe as can be. Price for value is great! We had a hard time saying goodbye to Koh Tao and oceansound diving was a big part of that. Thank you to the entire team for the perfect first diving experience in the most beautiful dive sites. We will be back 🤙🏻

Ocean Dive team is simply fantastic. They have attention to every detail and made my experience incredible. It was my first dive and I feel very lucky. I want to thank especially my instructor Josi. During the dive I had 5 minutes of panic and just wanted to surface. Thanks to her help I kept control. She was amazing, making it one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Just finished Open Water Diving certification. We booked Ocean Sound Dive from Spain several months before, communication and flexibility with arranging dates was fantastic.They have e-learning, so once there everything was quick. Ernesto was our dive instructor and he's really enthusiastic about diving, which transmits into his teaching. He made it fun and easy by using a very hands on methodology, we had a great time with him and I'd definitely recommend.

Our open water course at Ocean sound dive was so so good. Both me and my boyfriend were excited for the course beforehand, also a bit nervous to dive for the first time. But our instructor Sam at ocean sound made us feel very safe and calm. She took everything step by step and had a very professional but chill approach which made us only excited for the dives! Ocean sound is located in a nice area of the island. Close to the beach and to plenty of restaurants. They will handle all the transportation and logistics for you during the course. You feel like you are in good hands at ocean sound! Best of luck and happy diving 🐠

Ruta is the best instructor you'll ever have. She's very knowledgeable, patient and a great teacher. Definitely recommend Ocean Sound Dive and Yoga for you PADI Open Water Certification or any diving courses. Will definitely come back again if I'm in Asia in the future

Ocean Sound Dive + Yoga were just perfect for our Open Water dive certification. My partner was extremely anxious with the idea of diving but wanted to give it a go. The entire team are so welcoming, friendly and kind that she crushed it and got the certification. Honestly, make sure to book with these guys. The guys at ocean sound couldn’t have been more helpful and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this great dive shop. All the equipment was new and the dive boat well equipped. Our girls qualified with their Advanced Diver certification and we were even lucky enough to see two whale sharks!!!! Our instructor Ruta was so patient and knowledgeable and made the whole experience lots of fun. Highly recommended! Only wish we could rewind and do it all again!

He is really calm, patient and he explains the important things for diving very well and understandable! Ocean Sound is a 5-Star diving centre!! We had an amazing experience… They organised our accommodation (which was lovely), they were super friendly, helpful and understanding, and they had the best price on the island!! (At the time) Our groups were kept small with only 4 per group. We had two groups, with an instructor each: Super Ruta and Bart(man)! They were both very experienced, professional and entertaining. Each had they’re own style, but they complemented each other well and rounded the training off nicely. I definitely recommend Koh Tao as a diving island, and highly recommend Ocean Sound as your dive centre. Everything is so easy and flows nicely. They make the experience enjoyable, and became more like friends… Bartman even played Sax at a gig in town. Very fun, but made diving in the morning the next day a challenge. Myself and a friend had the good fortune to get our Open Water Certification at Ocean Sound. Our instructor, Super Ruta, was incredible! She explained things so clearly, including some of the more complex physics at play when diving. She was also super high energy and made everything from the initial meet and greet, to the classroom/pools sessions, to the ocean dives a fun experience. We were initially a bit nervous about diving, but by the time we were in the water for our first ocean dive we felt very well prepared, confident and excited. Most of all the entire process felt very safe and extremely well organized. Ruta did an amazing job helping us hone specific skills (like buoyancy) and challenging us as we got more confident in the water. She was also a great guide and pointed out all the amazing marine life during dives. After completing our certification we also opted to do an additional night dive. We were accompanied by both Ruta and Jesper. It was really magical experience, and had we been in Koh Tao longer, we definitely would have done additional fun dives with the Ocean Sound team. Beyond our experience diving, everyone at Ocean Sound (Will, Jesper and Ruta) went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensured everything went smoothly. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience and hope to be back in Koh Tao to see you all someday! I cannot recommend Ocean Sound enough for any fun dives and certifications!

Loved my experience with Ocean Sound. Went for my Open Water Diver Course and couldnt be happier with how it went. Ocean sound was very professional in their work while maintaining the element of fun & enjoyment. Loved their hospitality as well ! A huge shoutout to Samia for being our Dive Instructor. She was really patient with us and brought so much energy with her everyday ! Her enjoyment and enthusiasm in diving inspired us all, we had loads of fun with her. Couldnt have asked for a better dive instructor:)

We did a refresher course and the Advanced Open Water here at Ocean Sound and had an absolutely awesome experience! They are well-organized and the equipment is in great shape but the best thing here is certainly: the team! Our instructor, Sam, was both super fun and very professional — we felt safe and sound, even in challenging condition. I would definitely recommend for a course or just for fun dives :) Thanks a lot for everything!

We were a group of 7 split up on 2 instructures. The instructors were very attentive and explained all necessary steps in a simple manner. They were very flexible. We were supposed to start one day earlier but due to horrible weather conditions we needed to change our starting date. The dive center was quick to reply and changed it for us immediately. Overall it was a fun experience to get our open water certificate from Ocean Sound Dive.
