easily one of the more fun and memorable experiences i had during my trip to HCMC! my host vi was very welcoming and patient— and she speaks fantastic english too. her family is lovely and just as hospitable as she is. the class was fun, very hands on, and the food vi makes (and teaches you to make) could very well be the best meal of your trip. in addition to the class itself, vi introduces you to other things you can do in the area, and is very generous with sharing about vietnamese culture! so if you’re in the city looking for something “less-touristy” to do that’ll tick off both an activity and a meal on your itinerary— this is something you do NOT want to miss.

Unforgettable day in the Mekong Delta The decision to book the one day non-touristy Mekong Delta trip is one you‘ll not regret. Our guide Hieu (and his girlfriend Spring) were amazing and the tour itself incredible. We got to try local fruit, visited small villages and went for a lovely boat ride without seeing any other tourists. We were served a delicious lunch at a local family’s house in the most beautiful setting. It was truly one of the best trips I‘ve been on while traveling in Vietnam and I can not recommend it enough. Definitely worth the money!

Vi was amazing! This was one of our favorite tours of the trip. Like the title mentions, I think we saw one other tour group the whole time. Vi was incredibly informative and really immersed us into what life is like on the Mekong Delta. It was truly a special day and I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a tour in this area.

My and my mate decided to spend a day in Cu Chi tunnel area without hassle and large crowds to follow. See, we are from Finland where common culture is a bit reserved when it comes to chit-chatting or excessive small talk (= anything over 1-2 sentences). That's why a private tour. Lose The Tie Tour is a small private company specialized in private tours in Saigon area, which suits our needs. Booked and paid the tour (PayPal) and received instant confirmation with a proposal for non-rush hour departure. Overall, seamless and spot on communication. Worked like a charm. A few words about Vi who guided us through the day. She is accurate, timely, knowledgeable, funny, educated and courteous. Vi is energetic, knowledgeable and have a good sense of humour. She knows everything about the subject plus tons of interesting details on local culture without sounding boring or overly heavy, even though the matter is deadly serious. Besides a thorough recap of history we received much needed information on local culture and habits, from educational systems to lifestyle and national production, not forgetting the best restaurants near our hotel (Grand Hotel Saigon). Truth be told, Cu Chi needs an expert like Vi to unfold and become something more than just a monument. It's a cliche but history comes alive when you hear in depth stories. Will I rely on her expertise and Lose The Tire Tour again? Absolutely.

My partner and I were lucky enough to spend time with Vi and her beautiful family last night - they were so kind, warm and welcoming to us, and I truly hope we can see them again when they come to our countries in the future! Vi made a fantastic chicken pho for us, and treated us to some green mangos for dessert! Can't recommend enough - this has been an experience we'll never forget!

Best cooking class ever! Our host Vi was wonderful and had a pristine sense of humor. My partner and I learned how to cook an authentic Vietnamese four course meal and went home with an inflated belly. Highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for things to do in the area! She also recommends us many good streetfood places in Saigon after the class which is a huge bonus!

Had a fantastic tour with Vi!!! She took me to some very unique places you would not experience alone! Vi was very welcoming and open to talk to about Vietnamese culture answering all my queries about the present culture and history of Vietnam. The tour was done at a relaxed pace that let you take a lot in and Vi got us safely through the traffic (a challenge for most pedestrians not used to it here). Awesome! 😄😄😄

I would sincerely like to thank Vi and Hoang for inviting me to their home for a wonderful dinner. Everything was so delicious. Their hospitality was wonderful and they have two lovely daughters in their family. If you ever have the opportunity to enjoy time with them it will be a highlight of your time in Vietnam as it was mine.

Vi was fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgable, and provided great information. I would highly reccomend her. My Mother and I had only 1/2 day in HCMC. Vi provided the perfect tour for the short time we had.

Vi was a wonderful guide and showed my family all the highlights of Ho chi Min. We enjoyed our authentic lunch and all the sights we saw, such as the reunification palace, the emerald jade pagoda and war museum. Thank you Vi for a great day!

Vi is the best - her food tour takes you to out-of-way places which are just incredible. It's great to experience the city with someone so knowledgeable and kind, and she readily customizes with respect to your preferences. Vi's English is second-to-none, also a rarity in Vietnam.

Traveling with our 2 boys (8 and 5) we booked a two day private tour with Vi after coming across her great reviews, and agreed on spending a day around the Cu Chi VC tunnels and HMC itself, and a day on the Mekong Delta ‘off the beaten track’. We met Long (our tour guide) on the first morning around 7am, and immediately knew we are up for a real treat. Long was knowledgeable, open, funny and great with the kids who loved every min of these two long days. Everything was planned and timed perfectly, we got to learn A LOT about local people, culture and history. While we were able to beat the crowds on the first day at the tunnels and enjoy a very personal experience, the second day at the Mekong was really off the beaten track, full of thoughtful surprises among locals, boats, bikes, tuk-tuk, and more - which kept the whole four of us engaged at all times. To conclude, we met with Vi and her family for dinner, and had the opportunity to end as real friends. We couldn’t recommend Vi and Long more!! This is a must if you are in town, and two days we will remember with a smile for a very long time.

Ms Ngoc was friendly and the class was funny. I was offered a free Saigon Beer and it tasted good. Thank you Ms Ngoc. Highly recommended.
