Visited this restaurant after lots of positive reviews here. But strongly advice to visit without any expectations as compared to Actual restaurants in India. We expected a lot thinking it taste really awesome but it just met the expectations. The starters Gobi Machurian was sweet but okay for first timers. Sambar Vada was below average, I felt the Sambar was missing the actual Sambar flavour. The Naans were partially cooked. The gulab jamun with Ice cream was a disaster, the Gulab jamun is very very sweet spoiling the complete taste and ice cream was average. In all giving one time visit restaurant for us.

Food was good but service was not !! Food: Chat and starters are good. The main dishes like idli, dosa are very good as it’s their specialty. Desserts were not that great. The rasmalai was hard and too much saffron. The moong dal halwa was not really a halwa it was a like a kesari. Must try would be: idli, dosa varieties, chilli bajji , butter milk and filter coffee. Service: booking a table was quick easy even at the last minute. Initially the service was good , but when the restaurant is full, they struggle to manage things. They mix up orders and tables, slow service. Almost all the tables were served late by 45-60min, but the food was always served fresh and hot. I also noticed that they are listed in too many online ordering sites, so there were too many online orders at the same time and the people dining-in where kind of kept on hold. I find the food and service in The Hague branch better !! Price was reasonable for the quality and quantity they provide.

OMG! This is one of my favorite places in Utrecht and in The Netherlands. The food is so delicious and full of flavors, they prepare really amazing food and you will be surprised with the very convenient prices. You will be amazingly surprised with the great food you can taste without any meat. I come here every time I can. Fried cauliflowers are just incredible!!

If you want to eat authentic Indian food anywhere in holland, I will recommend this place in a beat. The Mysore Masala Dosa and Mango Lassi was my absolute favourite. It felt like I am in India. If visiting Amsterdam do visit Utrecht and Krishna Villas for their amazing food

We went here on a Friday evening and luckily we made a reservation because by 7pm it was almost packed. The restaurant was quite big with friendly staff. We ordered samosa, a South Indian Thali, a masala dosa and two portions of naan and we enjoyed very much! The dosa combined with the various chutney was very tasty. The Thali looked very impressive and tasted wonderful. The rice in the Thali dish could have been better in our opinion. The naan was lovely. The price was very reasonable. Definitely worth coming back to try other dishes.

Visited here for lunch, we ordered a Mysore masala dosa and a tiffin combo ( masala dosa , Upma , halwa , idli and vada ) along with filter coffee. The food was great and tasty, authentic South Indian taste. The filter coffee tastes real good !! Loved the place.

I was happy with most of the dishes. We ordered multiple dishes to share - Madras Masala dosa (it could have been crispier, but the chutneys were great), Mini idlis (very good), and the dahi vada (a winner for me!) I was disappointed with the onion bhajji as it was not authentic (it was more like an onion ring) The lassi was also pretty good. Reservations recommended as the place is always full. Overall, a good option for South Indian fare when in Utrecht.

If you are a fan of vegetarian south Indian food, this is the place to be. The food tastes very authentic with the same spice level one would find it in a local south Indian restaurant and the best part, it is served the same way for all the customers. We didn't order thali, maybe for next time; but as for the Tiffins, the chutneys are soo finger licking good. Except for the rava dosa to be bit hard on texture, it's pretty decent food and the service is super fast.

This restaurant is my absolute favourite of all. The food is authentic and comes in great portions. But the absolute best is the staff who are not just friendly but also make you feel so welcome in the restaurant. Even when it is every busy they go out of their way to check in on you and create a personal atmosphere.

Good chaat and indo-chinese dishes. The north Indian dishes I tried were not quite on point but flavours were great. Mango lassi was very good. Service very friendly and helpful.

We were pleasantly surprised to eat authentic South Indian food in Netherlands! We ordered Idli, Vada and Ghee Rava Dosa(with onions) all of which were fresh and tasty. Service was a bit slow.

Really good food with reasonable price, which is really surprising for me as I first thought it would be expensive guessing from the atmosphere! Strongly recommend Masala Dosa for the taste in South India. Employees are friendly! Booking a table in advance is recommended

The food was great, very authentic! We had the Manchurian Paneer, Gobi 65, North Indian Thali, Mango Lassi and the Falooda. The spices was really amazing on the Manchurian and Gobi, however for the price it was very little to be honest. The falooda was an interesting dessert, never had anything like that before. Although the food was not enough compared to the price, I'd go again because the food was really good actually!

Nice introduction to Indian cuisine! The food was very tasty, diverse, and quick to arrive. The staff was also very respectful, hospitable, and serving. There was, however, some confusion around the orders where we either had to ask where our food was or that food we hadn't ordered arrived at our table, but this wasn't too big of an issue. The extremely kind staff handled it professionally. I highly recommend this place for getting a taste of authentic Indian food! ;)

It is a vegan restaurant. We have ordered 3 different dishes. One was the south Indian specialty with a lot of sauces and rice (there was a north Indian option too but we didn’t try) , second was okra and rice and third is the one looking like a pizza in the picture. My favourite dish was the one with okra. Overall the food was delicious, I have noticed a lot of Indian people was eating there as well which is a good sign in my opinion :) I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try Indian cuzine.

We had a lovely time at Krishna Villas Utrecht! The 203, 214, 403 and 404 were all lovely. We even ordered the samosa's again as a desert. Lastly we also ordered another appetizer (see picture), which was alright but least interesting of all we had had. We will come back and try more dishes! The 403 and 404 dosa were amazing but you'll probably need more than just one main dish to fill you up. It was about 65 euros total for 4 appetizers, 2 main dishes and 4 drinks. Pretty damn good deal! And the waiters were so kind as well. Only small downside is it took a pretty long time between rounds to get served. It was busy and you did have to specifically make eye contact with a waiter every time you needed something (which isn't a bad thing, just good to know so you don't just wait until someone pops by to check if you need anything).

Recommended by a South Indian friend, it certainly met and exceeded expectations. The ingredients are very fresh, especially the spices. One can taste each and every part of the dish, yet everything works well together. We really liked the traditional Southern Indian mysore (403 on the menu). Chana masala was also delicious. Staff is very friendly!

The food is very close to how it tastes in South Indian cuisine. The only thing is you need to have ample time on your hand as not only the food preparation takes time, the service is also slow. I enjoy going there when want to have a taste of India.

It’s always a pleasure and a nice experience to visit Krishna Vilas Utrecht. Yesterday we had a pleasant time as well. Instead of the regular options, we opted for the Xmas special Menu. We took both - North Indian and South Indian menu. The food was very tasty and delicious, and was served hot. In the starters from the South Indian menu, the Milagu Rasam was quite flavoursome. The main course for both North Indian and South Indian menu were quite filling and definitely in decent quantities. Even the vegan brownie dessert was very enjoyable. This holiday season, we would definitely recommend to try the Xmas special meals. Happy Holidays !

We visited the restaurant yesterday (17/09/2021) at 8.50PM... The lady at the entrance was bit too harsh and commanded that we should finish ordering by 9.30 and we should finish eating by 10.00... Being a valued customer, I do understand that they are closing by 10.00... at least, the way how they convey the message could have been gentle! Food was nice and was served well., Dahi poori was really nice and tasty... Small request, the glass with which the mango lassi served was hot! So kind of mango lassi was also warm!

Truly delicious and amazing food! Excellent choices for gluten free items as well! Service was very friendly and I would really recommend this place! Must-try!

Delicious south India cuisine, which is very difficult to find in the Netherlands. Everything is so fresh and tasty. Staff members are super friendly and went out of their way to ask the chef my question about tamarind paste. (They didn’t have a tamarind dipping sauce. Maybe that is more of a north India food?) Highly recommended! We’ll be back.

We ordered Thalis and Chole Bature. While the taste seemed quite authentic as per my Indian friends I only enjoyed just few of the currys offered in the Thalis, although the portions were quite good and the breads were very nice. I really liked the curry from the Chole Bature! Their menu is quite diverse and has a lot of typical South Indian dishes and the stuff was quite nice.

I went to this restaurant with my team. You can taste delicious and traditional meals from north and mainly south India. Luckily my colleagues from India helped me for choosing them. For drink, I can suggest Cobra beer. It’s so light and easy to drink

Traditional South Indian cuisine. Still quite rare in the Netherlands. Very friendly (and quick) staff. Wide range of food and drink items to choose from. Great taste. Cheerful decor. Must try 😃

liked the South Indian food but desserts was not to our taste. Service was quite nice but can better. Definitely gonna visit again!

This is one of my favourite places in the Netherlands. I usually go there for their south Indian food, because it's not easy to find good south Indian food in the Netherlands. I have been there many times and was never disappointed with the food. It's easily reachable by public transport and also wheelchair accessible.

  • 5/5 Nastya S. 2 years ago on Google
All dishes we ate were very tasty. The drinks are also good. The service is better than a year ago.

  • 5/5 Henner H. 2 years ago on Google
Very tasty food at reasonable prices. There’re South Indian and North Indian choices as well as some Nepalese and others. The service is quick and friendly. Small negative: I didn’t find the place super cozy. It’s just too noisy. So maybe consider take-out.
