Very nice place to stay if you’re planning to do a safari! They have their own drivers and jeeps, the organization is no problem at all. We stayed in a tent with river view and I would anyways recommend that! It wasn’t luxurious or something like that, it was rather a jungle experience. When we sat at our balcony we could always watch the monkeys jumping from tree to tree and were even able to interact with them while feeding them bananas. The pools are clean and after a safari in the morning, you can easily spend the rest of the day relaxing there. The restaurant is also very delicious and the staff is soooo friendly!!

Wonderful two days spent here, deep in the recesses (or so it felt) of the Sri Lankan jungle. Felt completely at one with nature and her environs, even experiencing a huge electrical storm whilst we were there. Couldn't have asked for anywhere better ahead of our early morning safari.

Children play area: There are several small pits in the ground which are dangerous for kids. Younger kid got hurt and it could have been a sad story if I wasn't able to get hold of him before he fall to the ground. Room: is a low cost built with AC but spacious. Roof is asbestos and insulated so the heat doesn't penetrate much. The TV is like a stamp hanging on the wall compared to the space in the room. Door handle of the bathroom can easily hurt your fingers because if you do not pay attention, fingers get stuck in between the door and the wall. ouch... Bathroom: is open to sky. There are low visibility spaces (under the sink and stairs) where any venomous snake can fall from tree branches and hide under the sink.

We loved our stay at this place. Extremely good value, we had a luxury room with poolview and only paid 37€ for two nights. The two pools are very clean. Breakfast is as buffet, mix of western and Sri Lankan options. We only pre-booked breakfast but ended up having both dinners there as well due to heavy rain. The food was really good and looking back, I'd pre book dinner as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we got our laundry made the same day (1000rupies per kilo). We also had a safari booked via the hotel which was fantastic. Our drive was very knowledgeable and we didn't need an extra guide. We were the only people who had a nice table and chairs for the breakfast in the park :-) see picture - so I highly recommend booked a safari with the hotel. We paid 135$ all inclusive for two people for a half day trip. Wifi was a bit low. Coffee at breakfast not the best. But these were really minor things. All in all, really recommend the place.

Stayed for one night at the luxury tent. Malee and the team were very welcoming and friendly. They arranged a safari for us at Udawalawe and it was unforgettable. The hotel is at a great location and don’t forget to see the resident dog when you are there…

We stayed 2 nights and It was my very first experience in a tent! The hotel is in a great location and I loved the surroundings and the room view. In my point of view, room and bathroom cleanliness should improve a bit more. (Bed and bedding was comfortable and clean). The staff is friendly and helpful (specially the restaurant staff was very nice). The food was delicious! Hotel arranged us the safari and it was so nice!

We stayed the hotel in April 15-16th. Allowed us for early checkin. Thanks for that. Better if the bathrooms are clean than this. Untidy washroom fittings and the room tea/ coffee box not cleaned at all. 😔 We requested safari from hotel and they provided the requested. We left the hotel at 2.30 and we were able to finish the safari around 5.45 . But the same time another team who left for safari stuck at the forest. So our travel guide/ driver told us that they required help from our safari jeep and we went for their help but unfortunately we had some bad experience over there. Our jeep also going to fall and stuck and mud and we had to push the vehical in the middle of the jungle and we survived due to drivers’ ability. Fortunately we were able to arrived to Safari gate at around 7.30pm but other team not came with us. After that day we had our breakfast and its fine. But there was a staircase which was broken and my husband and my one year old baby girl fell down and my baby got injured. But no one in the hotel even asked for any help for that. After that incident they close that staircase 🙁. We bought lunch from the restaurant on 15th. But the lunch not got at all. We ordered egg rice and deviled prawns, deviled chicken and pork black curry. But all not good at all. Anyway Thank you for the stay and hope you guys improve the mentioned 🙂

Great staff. Wonderfull maintained area. There are animal to spot, like big lizards, frogs around the swimming pool, monkeys, big owl at night, flying foxes, squirels, something like a mangoose beautifull coloured birds and big fish in the pool. Buffet lunch is great! Room (10) we had was big. Mosquito net. Big comfartable bed. 2 nice big swimming pools. Highly recommendable! And above all no hidden costs like some cheap guesthouses/resort around will tell you after booking that a safary is mandatory. We love this place!

This is an amazing place to stay, my second time staying and it was just as great as the first. Recommend to all in the area. I will definitely come back soon. Rooms are amazing and the surrounding gardens and pool are very relaxing.

Such an incredible host! Due to unforseen issues we had to arrive at 1.30 a. m. but it was no problem they managed everything for us and were so friendly. The room was really nice and the breakfast was amazing! Thank you so much for your help!

We had an amazing stay here, the staff were very friendly and accomodating. The rooms were really cool with a view of a beautiful pool and palm trees. They hosted our Safari trip which was really good, we loved it. The restaurant was really good, we enjoyed every meal we ate there. Our waiter/receptionist Yasit was lovely. We recommend this hotel if you are staying in Udawalawa!

Discover a hidden gem in Udawalawa – a small local restaurant with unparalleled service, delectable food, and an unforgettable overall experience! A must-visit spot in town, especially for pork curry enthusiasts. Indulge in a vast variety of pork curry options, complemented by mouthwatering side dishes. Your taste buds will thank you!

Nice hotel close to the national park. We had a "luxury tent" with an outdoor bathroom. That was super! Otherwise, the room facilities were ok. The staff was ok, but we have experienced more cordiality and service in other hotels. The dinner was very tasty.

We stayed in a luxury tent for 2 nights. Everything from welcome at the reception desk until our check-out was perfect. The place is clean, staff ready to help, equipment of the room in great condition. And the roofless bathroom - amazing! All of that for really reasonable price.

This is such a wonderful place, especially for that good price. The tents are big and the bathrooms clean. From the balkony you can see monkeys and green birds. We had fireflies in the room at night. I just loved everything about my stay. The pool was beautiful but could have been cleaner. The breakfast was huge and delicious.

Nice surrounding and location. But rooms were bit dusty. Could have been bit more cleaner. Having said that, though the staff is very friendly and helpful. We went there with our one year old, so the kitchen staff made special meal for her.

A nice place for a very reasonable price. Went there without prior booking because we thought there would be plenty of spared rooms. But almost all the rooms were booked. There are so many walk-ins. So better book a room in advance. The rooms are clean and nice. Try to get the higher category rooms by the pool. It was 6k with breakfast. You can order other meals in the restaurant as well. They do BBQs as well. The food is pretty good and portion sizes are generous. The hotel has plenty of room to walk and there is a playground area for the children as well. Also the staff is friendly and helpful. You can book jeeps for safaris within the hotel. Nice place to relax for a very reasonable price.

We stayed in the Kotawatta Village luxury tent for one night and the experience was interesting. On the plus side: the interior design of the tent was very nice, we had an outdoor shower which made the whole experience feel very nice and a beautiful view overt the garden full of palm trees and other exotic plants. The staff was very friendly and welcoming as well. Unfortumately, there was a very bad smell inside our tent (not sure if it was the fabric of the tent or all the fabrics in the room - sheets, courtains, etc). Apart from this, be prepared for lots of creatures crowling on the tent at night

We're here for 2 nights since yesterday. Truly amazing so far, opted for the luxury tent (on stilts). Bed and facilities are great, both pools really nice and the garden area is just so lovely! Outdoor bathroom is a really nice idea, we even saw a monkey up a coconut palm when showering! We did the half say safari through the hotel this morning, it was absolutely amazing! You might get it a little cheaper on the road but we saw the difference - our driver took us where others didn't go and we rarely even met other vehicles! Would definitely recommend and come again, thanks to all the staff including the very smiley cleaners, driver, front office, restaurant guys, garden staff and all others !

we stay 2 times in this hotel totally for 3 nights with 20 person team . I think this hotel provide a nice and different experience of accommodation in srilanka. really in first view the location and neighborhood is nothing but they provide a very different atmosphere here. completely different from outside . for this hotel : 1- management is very good. the manager is a young girl that don't smile and at first contact seems a very cold person . but with good management and considering the details in work her score is 99% in his job . 2- hotel has great design . we use pool view rooms . there are two pools . the old one with tents around and new one with rooms around . we use both and I think rooms are better . the pool is new one and more clean . bot both have good score . 3- staff are very helpful 4- restaurant is the most on time and good managed restaurant I see during our trip in 22 days in this island . test tuna fish and vegetable soup there . 5- rooooooms are great 6- price in comparison with service of hotel is nothing . good prices offered here . 7- for any required help contact the management . they try to help you . for s they change working hour of restaurant , working hour of pool, arrange safari , help to rent car ..... absolutely in next trip I will use this hotel again .

Very beautiful place with nice garden and pools for a very reasonable price. Dinner and breakfast were great! We also got our sunrise safari organized. Highly recommend it!

Very good price value - AC room, clean pools, friendly staff and good food. Coffee and service attentiveness could be a bit better, but besides that it has been a pleasant stay. Recommended!

If you go to this hotel, the best thing is to check in without going on a safari. They expect a safari rather than a hotel service. If you go on safari and enter the hota, you can imagine the worst of their service. It's really bad service. They provide rooms for this kind of money in the hope of getting more money from the safari. If you're going for it, think twice.
