The food is good. The porotta was okay. I had duck roast ordered and was not impressed that much, i should say! The ambience is good. Air conditioned halls are available too in the restaurant. The price was on the higher side. The duck roast was priced at ₹170 and porotta ₹10 each. They provide take aways too. The restaurant is neat and clean. The service is also not bad.

Had gone for lunch to this restaurant,famous for its sea food .Had fish curry meals ,meals was good .The side curries usual aviyal ,thoran-beetroot ,kichidi pickle was served along with sambar rasam and prap too.We did order for meen polichu..too good and tasty fresh and yummy !!! Service was too good!! But felt it's crowded.

Best seafood restaurant around bakery junction area for lunch. To be specific the rates are very reasonable. Both quantity and quality are the speciality. They have a wide range of sea foods available from fishes, crab, prawns, squids and mussels. Must visit spot for lunch. The place is very clean. Staffs are not very friendly. That's my personal opinion.

I couldn't forget the day 17th of dec, 2022, this month. Our host and my cousin visited restaurant. Food is normal. But the ugly behaviour that the main faty guy of hotel in charge asked the demand tip. Everybody knows this person speaking different languages and pleasing at first impression. Hotel responsible person should observe and correct the guy in a proper way. This is my first and final feedback about your hotel. I never recomend any person to this hotel.

Food is good. But a bald guy there keeps asking for personal tip every time. I don't like his attitude and I don't want to be asked for personal tips for service people. This hairless guy keeps asking. this has been multiple times. Hence we avoid this place mostly even though food is good.

I wish to share our horrible experience at this hotel on Saturday,17th. My son and I went to lunch to this place. A bald head,decent looking man posing as the owner, took orders. My son ordered chicken biryani and myself lunch. He asked if we want any fish speciality,and with lot of coaxing ,i ordered a fish roast. He said ,it's big , but we did not realise how 'big' this was. The food came, minus the fish . And only when i was half way through the lunch , the huge fish came all decorated in tonns of masala. I asked him what fish is this ,and he said it's pomfret. The moment i took one bite, i knew it is not fresh, because how much ever one decorates, it, the pungent smell & taste of rotten fish will strike the taste buds. Immediately,i intimated him, and he swore that it is fresh. (My mistake is , i should've made him taste the fish, which i didn't ) In any case, i hardly ate even half. The bill was brough in. For a meal of rs.80/- he charged rs.1000/- for the fish !! And asking for an additional tip ,seperately. I did call him and ask what is this billing?.It didn't look nice to further argue after eating,so we silently left. When leaving he said something like sorry , inaudibly. I didn't know why then, but i knew as soon as I reached home. Because from that day, till this morning, I am having a heavy loose motion!! In a hurry to leave the place we forgot to even take the bill. My request to all is ,kindly never buy fish item fron here, for they will kill us by serving rotten fish ! As for the other food, i honestly think, for a hotel capable of doing this day time robbery, they will serve only bad quality food .

Very very bad experience. First of all they will not give menu card , verbally they tell what they have . Today I ordered one dish according to menu ( I personally asked for menu card) it was priced 180 and they charged 250 . And the food quantity was too low ( ordered chicken Biriyani ) finally I asked to the restaurant manager regarding the huge pricing , and they gave some unnecessary explanations It was such a bad and horrible experience . The hotel is famous for sea food , but the dish I was ordered ( fish manchurian ) it was frozen one So overall it was a bad experience

Ordered a big tub of chicken biriani and 2 plates of veg pulav (biriani).. we served the guest as given. Turns out they have given chicken biriani in those 2 plates too. Luckily the guest did discover that somethings wrong and did not eat it.

VERY DISAPPOINTING. After our visit to the Museum, we searched Google Maps for a suitable restaurant with good reviews / ratings. One from the suggested list was this restaurant. We decided to give it a try. The first impression wasn't great. The non- a/c seating area has some cheap looking plastic chairs. We went to the A /C dining hall. One of the tables is situated very close to the washrooms: not ideal. We ordered Chicken Biryani and Vattamkanni pollichathu. The waiter had his fingers inside the bowls of biryani. That itself put us off. Secondly, we noticed a live cockroach underneath our table. My wife noticed yet another one in the handwashing area. Obviously they don't seem to be bothered about cleanliness / hygiene. Neither of the ordered dishes was impressive. The biryani lacked any real flavours, was rather dry (minimal masala) and the chicken was way too tough (possibly an old one). The fish didn't taste fresh and the pollichathu gravy was nowhere near as good as some of the ones I've had from other restaurants like Kettuvallam in Kochi. The INR600 we spent solely on the pollichathu was a colossal waste. Last but not least, the liquid soap dispenser in the washroom dispenses just water. They have diluted the original stuff so much that it literally felt like washing one's hands with plain water. Pathetic! This place doesn't even deserve 1 star actually. I'll never eat here again and neither will I recommend it to anyone I care about.

It was a very nice experience at Varnam Seafood Restaurant near Bakery Junction, Thiruvananthapuram. We were a group of 23 pax and they made necessary arrangements to make all of us sit together. They took our order in advance, which made us not to wait too long.

Food was very low in quantity and bad in taste, we dont buy from this restaurant anymore, first and last time, pls dont waste your money for low quality stuffs..neymeen curry 180/- rs pls see the quantity... Very worst in taste also..

Varnam seafood restaurant is one of my favourite food spot in Trivandrum city. A wide variety of sea food items are available here. Vegetarian options are also served here. We have tried variety of dishes from here like tuna curry and fry, prawns fry nd roast, chippy fry, biriyani, porotta etc. and it was really tasty. Food items are authentic and worth the money. Must try spot

Over spicy food. We ordered sheshwang chicken fried rice, porotta, veeshappam, dragon chicken and chicken curry. The fried rice was over spicy that it was not at all edible. We just let them know about this while paying bill and their reply amused us that the fried rice as is spicy. Attaching images so that the viewers can judge the spiceness.

Just fish curry meals was ok, but being a specialised sea food hotel the choices of sea food items were less and the fish fries served were not at all fresh.

How can the food can be so plain...ordered meals and two types of fish fry. Fish was a decade old dead fish. I wonder how someone can make all Currys in same taste. Atmosphere is very unhygienic. Make me puke after I had the food. Felt so weird so I am writing like this. Never ever.

Okay food, veg meals did not have good side curry options. Fish curry was okay but Not that great. Service was not good , staff was in a hurry and seemed frustrated. Haven't really tried the other variety of sea food options, maybe those are good but the interior and total atmosphere is dull and The wash area was quite unhygienic so probably won't do a second visit.

The lunch thali is quite filling would recommend to get one plate as you can take unlimited rice and vegetable bhaji's .Beef curry and paratto would suffice 2 people.Inspite of late lunch they offered a good amount of food with great interest.

Ordered beef ,give old beef bad smell,even taking weight for a small quantity of waste beef ,management working top peoples its self spoiled there business ,cheating all good costomers, now they are bugging for people to cheat pls beware don't get cheated

We ordered Biriyani. They said it is over. But later they served biryani toother customers who came after us. We ordered fish curry meals. Fish was so dry it stood out of the curry. No salt in curries. Then meal was also not good. Not tasty. The shake they had given us was flavoured with lot of sugar. No fruit was added. Fish pollichathu was good.

Nasty trash we are just having their meals. Their rice is trash. None of their curries are worth eating. Their fish Curry is terrible, too much spicy and burns,not at all edible. I humbly requests everybody to stay away away from this place. First time I am posting such a negative review about any restaurant. Because it is so atrocious and worth a review like this.

It's been many years since I went to a തട്ട്ദോശ place and Varnam didn't disappoint. Among us, we ordered ghee roast, thattu dosa, chicken perattu, coin parotta, ayila, double omelette etc. Very tasty, quick service and open till late in the evening. Rating this place 5* for a street-foody menu, taste and ambience.

Not a great place, but definitely not a bad place to try sea food. Fish items are very expensive. A very talkative guy spoils the mood if you are an outsider.

My experience this restaurant was Not hygiene, serving plate and spoon was not cleaned well, when I pointed they replaced . Food was average, not tasty. Service was excellent 👍. I appreciate the behaviour of serving staff inside the A/C hall.

I just went there to charge my Ather. Since there was a juice parlour, we asked for a musambi juice which cost Rs 70. It was the worst juice I ever had in my life. Earlier we used to order food from there which was good. But this was horrible.

We just finished our lunch at the Hotel. The meals were below average. It tasted very bland. We ordered a Punnara Fish Fry, which costs ₹650. The fish was stale and tasted horrible. The fish curry was also very poor. All the side dishes were also low quality. The AC did not have enough cooling. No tissues were available on the Table. Overall, an eminently forgettable experience.

Varnam seafood restaurant is located along nandavanam road in trivandrum city.The restaurant is for idle for by road travellers. But food is just okay Not much mind satisfying.Non veg items aren't very much good enough.Seafood item's are somewhat okay.Overall the restaurant isn't much great.

An absolute miserable experience. The food served was cold and bland. If you are looking for seafood 🦞 relishes this restaurant certainly will ruin your palate. Ambience of the restaurant is average but quintessentially the food served is pathetic.
