This was one of the best restaurants I have visited. Staffs were polite and helpful. Well maintained, clean and calm environment. Dishes are very tasty. I would definitely go there again. You could sit outside, inside the building or in the backyard. The ambience is awesome.

Amazing and rich cakes. Still craving for it. Wonderful hospitality. Drinks were good except watermelon juice felt below average on taste due to excess water. Had calamari which was not really gud.

I visited Velvet Dawn along with my family n we had a wonderful experience, particularly the ambience is outstanding, we didn’t expect this kind of ambience in the middle of the city. Very friendly staff and the quality of food is outstanding, especially the cakes are mouthwatering. However, we faced some issues with the parking, they have only very limited space for parking, so it’s better to park outside(On the main road) and it’s only 100 metres walking distance from the main road. Must try the chocolate cake !!!

This was first visit here and came in just for the desserts. We weren’t let down. My wife was visiting the place for the 3rd time and she was of the opinion that the food here was never a let down. The ambience is better during the day right rather than at night. I hope to visit again for the food. So I did manage to visit for the food eventually. It was a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed to capacity. The food was good. But here's my gripe. It took an hour for the order to arrive. And when it did, they came one after the other with 5-10 minute delays after each dish was served. We went as a family but felt like we had individual meals. Not quite the family experience we hoped for. My initial 5 star rating comes down to 3.

Absolutely loved the ambience as well as the food - presentation as well as taste! Thankful to Rajesh and his 2 Swedish partners for keeping an old house and its surroundings alive and converting it to this lovely restaurant - so tastefully done. 🙏The waiters were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly too! It is situated inside a lane from the main road. The security was very helpful to park inside the parking area. The staff are welcoming and well-behaved. We tried some of their specials, and it was nice. I think the restaurant is a refurbished old Kerala house. We went in the evening, and the lights and ambiance were great. The food cost is moderate, in line with the taste and service.

The ambience was amazing and definitely a game-changer within the city! Their chocolate cake and almond cake are to die for! The fish in creamy spinach and mushroom sauce was amazing! Great service too! Definitely recommended.

One of the Best Dine in restaurants I have ever visited , we are 5 friends and we first had a creamy chicken soup the soup is too delicious and the chichen in the soup is very tender and we had Swedish meatballs & chicken fricasse. Best continental food we can find here where the presentation and also taste both are superb, and coming to the ambience it is soo beautifully designed with natural plants and even the service is good in suggesting dishes and good in communication.

Nicest Owner and Staff Members! The owner was at the entrance conversing with someone, humbly approached us as we parked, explaining that the kitchen was highly busy due to a sudden spike in customers just before our arrival. We were perfectly fine with waiting, especially since they had a small garden area in front with a koi carp pond. While we waited, we placed our order. After a while, we were invited to the back of the restaurant, where they had set up an outdoor dining space illuminated with candlelight. Here's what we tried: CREAM OF CHICKEN SOUP - 200 KOVALAM SALAD WITH CHICKEN - 360 PERI-PERI CHICKEN - 500 ICE COFFEE - 150 The Salad had a unique flavor, thanks to the inclusion of mint leaves and peanuts, in addition to the usual ingredients, complemented by a side of sliced watermelons. Normally, it comes with mango and a sprinkle of chili, which we thought would have been nice. Since it's out of season, it was replaced with watermelon which was good too. The Steak came in a generous portion, accompanied by mashed potatoes and could easily be shared by two people, especially if you order a starter or a salad.

Hosted a birthday party. The staff is very supportive and had a very good overall experience. The quality and taste of food is commendable and the presentation of food is nice. They have multiple indoor rooms and an outdoor space for candle light dinner. The ambience is very pleasant.

Good food and great people to serve it. For dinner the place was not fully packed. Food arrived ahead of what we usually expect. The fish served was very fresh. Cakes are excellent. Highly recommended if you want to have a peaceful sit down dinner.

I visited this place at my friend's suggestion and I was a bit confused at that time. But when I visited there, they never made me down and it is something more than what I have expected. Ambience, food, service everything, simply awesome. What's needed to mention is their Swedish meatballs and Cajun spiced chicken, the perfect blend of the West. As a dessert, I have tried the chocolate cake which is another masterpiece of theirs. So folks I definitely suggest this place who wish to satisfy their tastebuds with the continental love

I rarely give 5 star reviews, but two things moved me to do so this time - the incredible atmosphere and the friendly smile of our server, Vishnu (as listed on our invoice). The food was very good, and I had been craving for a taste of a Swedish meatball ever since my trip to Stockholm - luckily Velvet Dawn had it as their special today! We also got grilled chicken, fricassee chicken and Swedish meatball, and it was all really great. Beverages ordered included mint lemon and mocha. We had a chocolate cake to complete the amazing dinner. The atmosphere was truly remarkable - I felt as though I'd stumbled into a cozy restaurant in Prague or Madrid. I wish Velvet Dawn the best of luck and hope they maintain this fabulous atmosphere for future guests.

Absolutely loved the place. All items are quiet expensive. But considering the ambience and food, I think it’s worth. Their chocolate cake is the BEST..!♥️ It’s like a big house decorated beautifully with perfect lighting, flowers and furniture. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Had a great time here. A home turned cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Not on a busy street rather a bit inside so parking can be frantic at times. Support multiple types of crowd. Concise and delicious menu. Went in multiple times because the outdoor ambience is very pleasing especially on a sunny evening. Tried a main course dish chicken fricassee once and it was a delight. The saucy combination and the rice was in sync. Portion size however could improve for the price range.

First of all i have to say about the authentic taste of the receipes. Such an awesome food, which itself shows the precise way how it is made and presented, that satisfies ones crave there itself. Even the desserts, they are rich and delicious (must try any ). Very friendly staffs, excellent ambience, fully surrounded by greens and fish pond.. if you are looking for bday party, family and friends get together, or even a romantic candle light dinner, then you should definitely come here.. u will definitely fall in love with the place for sure ... The place is definitely something you must experience. The variety of seating each nook offers, present you with newer ambience each time. Chocolate cake is a must try. Don't hesitate to ask if you prefer something off the menu coz they are really genuine with their service there.

Ambience 4.5/5 Service 3.5/5 Food 2/5 -Cream of chicken soup 2/5 It wasn't creamy enough and was extremely thin/watery with overcooked chewy chicken. -Crunchy calamari in garlic and chilli 3/5. No flavor of garlic or chilli. Just batter fried squid. Came with a side of fries. And a dip that tasted like diluted mayo. -Cajun sauce grilled chicken 0.5/5 Asked for the beef steak, but they said they'd run out so.. The wait staff recommended this and said it'd be similar. Coming to the dish.. Little charred and overcooked. Super dry. Barely edible, hell it was so difficult to cut it with cutlery. Came with a side of mashed potatoes (I'd give the mashed potatoes specifically a - 5/5 it was cold, lumpy and tasted like potato, not creamy not nice. ) and some veggies. It was meh. -Mushroom stroganoff 2/5 The mushroom and buttered rice were both extremely salty individually. Together it was a salty disaster of sorts, and I'm somebody who usually has to add more salt to my liking.. but trust me when I say this it was the best of the lot we tried there tonight. Was really disappointed with the food scene which was a maaaajor mood kill. Maybe an off day, don't know. Ambience kondu maathram aavillaaalo.

Beautiful fancy cafe. Of course the prices are on a higher side but that's what cafes are all about. It is a house converted into a cafe and beautifully decorated. The garden in front can cheer up your mind and when you reach the backyard where sitting arrangements are there, you will fall in love with this place. The washroom is also so fancy 😂 I just had tea there but there were many food options. It was a great visit.

I had the pleasure of trying several dishes at Velvet Dawn in Shasthamangalam, including chicken pieces, salad, French fries, and momos. We went on a Sunday for brunch. One of the few places in trivandrum with an English breakfast option. The food, the service and the ambiance was nice . Very calm techno playing in the background and sitting in btw the trees and having brunch is a good feeling on a Sunday especially if you’re hungover. 😉

The food here is absolutely fantastic no matter what you order. I'm a huge fan of their chocolate cake , it just blows my mind. The ambience is also so relaxing. The servers are polite and efficient.
