Be sure to haggle because some items are over priced. Careful of pickpockets. Check the items you’re buying because of the items displayed look very nice but when you purchase something and they give you a ‘new stock’ then that could be damaged. Some food looks really delicious but could be dirty because of lot of the food ate exposed to dirt the whole time. Wear comfortable clothes because because it could be very hot and humid which is unbearable. Some stores accept credit card but with 3% mark-up so I suggest you bring lots of cash if you intend to shop a lot. Be very careful with your stuffs. Keep them with you all the time.

Too much hype for this market. Quality is far better in Platinum Fashion mall, however you may find some exclusive deal but you need to search. They are least bothered about giving you rebate you can haggle a lot but they will not budge from their position. Again you should be lucky.

Weekend market! wed + thu: plants market, fri: only wholesale, sat and sun: whole market. Plenty of shops here clothing, accessories, shoes, paintings, handicrafts, antiques, silk, miscellaneous, food... It's a worthy place for shopaholics who want cheap prices

Chatuchak is a weekend market in Bangkok. It is possibly the largest market in the world housing around 10 thousand shops categorized into sections based on the products such as clothes, decoration items, antiques, handicrafts, leather items, bags, shoes, kitchen cutlery, home decor, furniture, utensils, miniatures, souvenirs, gift items, gardening items, plants, paintings, food stalls and much more. If you are a good bargainer, you can get things at a very good price. Although the market is open on weekends some sections are also open on weekdays. The market gets crowded by afternoon, so suggest to reach there in the morning. The best way to reach there is by BTS skytrain and get down at Mo Chit station from where it is 5 mins. walk. Be alert to take care of your belongings and purse as the place is very crowded. It is a must visit place if you happen to be in Bangkok. Make sure you set aside saturday or sunday to visit this weekend market.

In my opinion, one of the best and MUST visit market in Bangkok! I will make it a point to go Chatuchak in my every trip to Bangkok. Over the years, I think Chatuchak seems to sell more interesting things compared to Platinum Mall. Prices wise definitely more reasonable and friendly compared to Platinum Mall. It sells ALMOST everything, from porcelain kitchenwares, like plates, cups, bowls, to street fashion wears, apparels, accessories, food, souvenirs, bags, food, paintings, home decor and antiques. For some of the items, you can actually ask for discount. Alternatively, if you are buying a lot, you can request for wholesale price too. The directional signs over there may not be as straightforward. One tip would be to walk section by section, cos they will indicate which section is that. If you see something, just buy! Don’t bother thinking about coming back cos it will be quite a hassle. Also, bring along an umbrella, to shield sun or shield rain. Because if it rains, you gonna have a hard time walking and shopping. In case you have difficulties finding which is your taxi pick up, there will be a lot of Tuk tuk or taxis lining up to pick you at the entrance. So not necessary for you to call and find the right pick up.

Very hot. Quite crowded. Public Toilet available; it’s 5THB per entry. Many things to look at. A great place to shop and eat. There is a mall (dd mall) just across the market. If you sick of the heat, could go to the mall. But this market is more fun than the mall.
