Room was decent enough, the bathroom door didn't shut properly, but not too big of a deal, it also didn't shut in the other room we'd booked, so maybe the doors are swollen? From other reviews I knew not to expect to be staying in the manor house, the accommodation was okay though, nice glass walk ways between the different areas. The kids loved the pool, which is open until 9pm. There was a wedding on the night we stayed, but we didn't hear any noise from it. You can hear people moving in the corridors or near by doors shutting, but we were up early to head to the WB studios anyway, so we probably made the most noise! Great location for the Harry Potter experience, a short taxi ride away and they held our bags at the hotel so we didn't have to take them with us. Breakfast was nice too, buffet style, seated quickly and good was good. There are some bad reviews on here, so I was a bit apprehensive, but our experience was good. The rooms could do with being updated a little, but we would consider staying again and maybe arrive a little earlier to have a look round the grounds.

I have just had my wedding here, I would advice anyone thinking of holding their wedding here to triple think. Yes venue and surroundings beautiful in places, but is it worth the money and upset???????? The two staff member who were any good have since left, both the wedding planners for Hunton Park Hotel. If not for my Daughter my personal wedding planner and family the day would have been a nightmare. The rooms and breakfast were good. No customer service throughout the hotel. In need of a big shake up. From the General Manager to the floor staff. It’s all about the £ and not doing anything to gain it unfulfilled promises. One example of mis-management the day before our Wedding catering staff were informed ovens are not working and catering company would need to source alternative arrangements, who does that Hunton Park Hotel. I could go on but leave that to our email directly to Venue. Avoid at all cost unless you want a stressful event to be made 1000 more stressful than needed.

An interesting stay on the 11/11/23: PROS - Lovely grounds. - Food quite nice and lots of vegan options. - Nice marketing images. CONS - The hotel is far from the standard illustrated in the images and shabby throughout. - The communal areas aren’t heated including the corridors, reception and restaurant. Wear a jumper at dinner. - We had to wait over an hour for our starter and there were 5 dining complaints within our 2 meter proximity. We were dining for over 2 and a half hours though, but this wasn’t out of choice. - The pool water was yellowish and there were some used contact lenses on the side. Luckily we had a swim just after the cleaners had been in.

The staff were fantastic, very helpful and friendly. The hotel is currently being renovated which I wasn't informed of prior to staying. Apart from wet paint though you wouldn't really know. The communal areas were lovely and traditional with stunning gardens that were huge. The rooms were okay, a little rundown in a few places but the rest made up for it. The shower was great and bathroom was lovely. They even left me a treat for my birthday which was so tasty. Breakfast was great (just one thing though, why cumberland sausages, whats wrong with a simple pork one) Was a good 20 minute drive from Watford Junction station but a 3 minute drive from the Warner Brothers/Harry potter studios.

Staff were very nice but there was absolutely no accommodations for disabled people. My 76 Yr old mother had to wrestle a ramp herself for my wheelchair. Doors into the tiny rooms were way short of regulations and rooms were tiny, yet beds were comfortable. Rooms however were very noisy and you could hear everyone on the floor, especially when their showers were activated. Bathrooms were nice at first glance, however the bottom of out door was completely rotten and the faucet on the sink was ready to fall off. The doors to the rooms also looked nice but on closer inspection they had a plastic sticker all over them to make them look like good heavy doors! We knew this as most of them were peeling off!! The two stars i gave, are for both the attitude of the staff and the comfortable beds. The food was generally good although my daughter's pasta dish was freezing cold in the middle at dinner. Altogether, in no way good enough for a modern Hotel just outside London!!!

I attended a friend's wedding here at this magnificent venue and I was left amazed. It wasn't my day so I can't comment on the actually venue dynamics for the wedding itself but the lawns were subtle but regal in their appearance. The hotel building itself has a very regal appearance to it and makes for a very scenic backdrop.

The staff were nice, but the big beautiful building they show on their website is false advertising. That is just a big empty building used for only weddings and consultations. You rather stay at a place that looks like a student accommodation, it’s not clean and the pool is so small and smells so bad. I’m being so honest here, do not waste your money on something like this. There’s no hand soap in the rooms, the shower pressure is non-existent, the room service was non evident too, we had to ask for clean towels. The doors had a flat print of a 3D door design on it which was peeling away. Overall this place needs a major improvement.

Beautiful location, if you love walking, pls book this hotel, the grounds are so beautiful, we had a wedding engagement there. However i am not happy with the rooms ,the cooling system did not work in a lot of the rooms even though we had pre booked this hotel months earlier Some of the rooms do need an upgrade, the carpets on the ground floor needs an upgrade pls! they are tired looking and I expected a better breakfast spread than what we got! I spent 1 night there ( although my family spent more time there and we had an engagement there)and 1 night in Premier and I tell you the meal at Premier was much better.

Had to wait over a hour to be able to check in as the room was not ready, apparently check in from 3pm means your room could be ready anytime after 3pm according to the staff. One the room was ready it was not as advertised, items like the mini fridge where missing, receptionist had a really bad attitude, had to wait an hour at dinner for a starter of nachos. Pool was closed, so unsure of what that is like. Location is nice and the grounds are nice. Book with caution.

I hosted my wedding here a few weeks ago which we had been planning for a while. There had been quite a few staff changes so we were initially skeptical about how our day would be. Luckily, we crossed paths with the current Senior Events Manager Lisa, who really took her time to understand us as a couple and our requirements for our wedding with only 3 weeks between first meeting and our wedding. We had so many last minute changes, but she went out of her way to make it as smooth and seamless as possible, and we are eternally grateful to her! The venue is on beautiful grounds, and luckily weather was on our side which really brought out the greenery of the venue! We also spent the night at the newly refurbished rooms which were large and really well decorated!

We only had two months to plan our wedding, and we feel so fortunate that we found Hunton Park, a beautiful hotel with such lovely and dedicated staff! Our wedding day was nothing short of spectacular, thanks to their outstanding efforts. The venue itself exuded charm and elegance, setting the perfect backdrop for our special day. The attention to detail displayed by Tony and Lisa was truly impressive – they took the time to understand our vision and executed it flawlessly, even though we barely had a month to iron out everything! The culinary experience provided by the talented kitchen team was a highlight of the event. The food was not only delectable but beautifully presented, leaving our guests raving about the menu for days afterward. The seamless coordination and exceptional service from the staff ensured that everything ran smoothly, allowing us to fully enjoy every moment without any worries. Hunton Park's commitment to making our wedding day unforgettable was evident in every aspect, and we're immensely grateful for their dedication. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Tony, Lisa, and the entire team for going above and beyond to create a magical and memorable celebration. We wholeheartedly recommend Hunton Park to anyone seeking an exceptional venue and top-notch service for their special occasions.

We had our work Christmas party here: Negatives: the queue for drinks was long, and staff seemed to have no idea what they were doing at the start of the night. First drink wait was 35 minutes, the next drink was only 5. The decoration was nothing fancy, just a few light and standard table decorations, a friend was at Willows Farm on the same night and the difference is incredible. Food was average, not bad to complain but not good that it was memorable. The entertainment was just a DJ - however most people seemed fine with this and were dancing away. Again Willows farm had acts on. The positives: Everybody enjoyed themselves.

The hotel is on a large plot of many acres with lots of lovely well manicured gardens which spread across various height levels - so excellent for regular walkers. The event marquee is tired however extensive refurbishment is on the cards according to management. Worth a visit

If you're going to the harry potter studio tour it's a decent place as it's close by. That's about it. The walls and carpets look like they haven't been cleaned in weeks, windows were leaking from rain and they used towels to soak up the water and just left them there all day. The room was infested with flies. The bed was reasonably comfortable with clean sheets and the view/surrounding grounds are lovely though. Overall, if you pay anything over ÂŁ80 a night, don't bother and find somewhere else.

Staff are wonderful and very helpful. Hotel annexe bedrooms in desperate need of maintenance or, ideally, updating, but the bedrooms are blessed with airconditioning (A/C) so a welcome bonus during the hottest weekend of the year...!! The pool area was far too hot to be used and would have benefitted from opening any windows they might have. The regular marquee is wonderful - and the A/C worked perfectly (4 units) - but the same cannot be said for the grand marquee - four times the size of the regular, but only five A/C units when it likely needs ten as a minimum.... The hotel has numerous steps so is not the best place for wheelchairs or prams - unless you only use the bedrooms and restaurant...and don't go outside.

Went for a Christmas party. The food was ok and the setting was nice but there were far too many people for the size of the room so not enough space on the dancefloor and the bar service was so slow it was beyond a joke. 30 minute wait to get served and they ran out of glasses to serve the drinks in. If you're going to an event there take your own drinks in!

Ok. Waited at Huntsman bar for Approx 1/2hr. One lady popped in & out twice. Saying she wouldn’t be long. Then someone who looked like a gardener asked if we were being served & we said no. He said I’ll go & get someone. Went to kings lodge for lunch instead. Next morning breakfast was nice but no brown sauce. A young worker went to get for me & it took him 15 mins before delivering. Decided to have a pastry with coffee after breakfast. It was not cooked & soft & doughy in middle. Gave to manager who said he would get fresh cooked straight away. Which to he’s credit he sorted. This hotel just needs more staff. There is no way the staff you have can cope.

    - Some staff were nice, but overall not very welcoming or helpful (bar staff, Roxi, was the nicest person there) - The carpets are a trip hazard - not laid correctly. - by 8:30am, the breakfast was plasticy, and left out for too long - breakfast is ÂŁ4.80 cheaper if you pre-pay the night before - staff will not tell you this. Their only sign said to (paraphrase) "pre-book breakfast for discount" which we did, but it was still ÂŁ18 per person as we had to PAY the night before for cheaper option - lights flickering in our room - heating is loud in the room - at the very least, beds were comfy. Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Can’t really give this place much more. The room was spotless as was the bathroom and that the good points. The eat area is no more than 4 tables shoved in a culdesac. The food was disastrous. My meal fish and chips was average at best. My wife’s burger was sent back as it was still pink and cold in the middle. When it returned, they had reheated the burger which was cooked but the chips were part frozen and the coleslaw was off as in smell and taste. Breakfast was good and plentiful so couldn’t fault this. Possibly a chef having a bad day who knows.

Firstly, after a long drive me and my partner turned up for one nights stay. We wasn’t even greeted at the check-in desk.. all we had was “can I have your name” not even a “hello / welcome” or even “please and thank you”! We then was directed via a pointed finger towards a door that takes you through a long glass corridor towards the rooms. Once in the room, the air con was on so high (cold setting) in the beginning of January (mid winter).. so we had to get the room warmed up before taking coats off. Window sills are mouldy and carpets have stains (see photos). Later that evening we had dinner in the restaurant. Which was the coldest room in the building! DO NOT bother looking at the menu on the website.. your just handed a piece of cheap paper with a VERY minimal menu on. My partner was looking forward for a steak all day and myself a lovely pizza.. however we was told only the items on the paper are only what they have! So we had to settle for a bland burger which wasn’t the best I must admit. I honestly don’t know what nice things I can say about this place. I would have preferred staying at a budget hotel. Mentioned the issues to reception but they just didn’t care. Just avoid

We came for afternoon tea, and we were not disappointed! The scones were fresh and warm, sandwiches were really tasty (and we had specific dietary requirements that the staff checked with us beforehand and accommodated brilliantly!) and the selection of cakes and pastries were lovely- and they even impressed my mum with the carrot cake as it’s her favourite and she loved it! We were looked after by Mary and she was so friendly and attentive, and all the staff that passed us were friendly and all said hello! I booked afternoon tea as a birthday present for my mum as I will be getting married here next year and wanted some time there for just me and her, and after today we are even more excited for our wedding! If you are reading the reviews on here and worried about booking I really wouldn’t be, we cannot fault the service throughout and the grounds are beautiful! Thank you to everyone for making my mum feel like a Queen!

Went here for a wedding the grounds are stunning and service was good. Needs more options for breakfast for people with allergies add soya count milk for alternative and coral to be marked with ingredients. But overall a lovely place to stay will revisit.

Attended an Indian wedding! Beautiful gardens. Wedding/reception held in the Marquis which worked well. Unfortunately we could not stay at the venue so didn’t get a chance to fully explore/appreciate the estate.

Had a great experience here running a business event. The staff were friendly, helpful and went to great lengths to support my event. So much better experience than I had a while ago. I really enjoyed the event. Food was good, event facilities were good (screens, sound etc). I would like to thank Tom who looked after us and Lauren on reception who was really helpful and posted my charger which I left behind. Thank you Hunton Park Team :-)

We had such a lovely time. Beautiful vegetarian afternoon tea. Flavoursome sandwich fillings and range of cakes. They brought more hot water for our tea, so we kept going with the experience. As the first small pots had been consumed too quickly! Very, very good value for money.

I’ll start with the location. Perfect for anyone who’s going to the Making of Harry Potter studio, by car it’s around 5 minutes and on foot 20 minutes. The room smelled a bit old, but was clean, same with the bathroom. It had basic amenities, bed was comfortable to sleep in, with clean sheets and bedding. Breakfast, dinner and the open bar with wide variety of drinks, gin tonic combos and cocktails were all in my opinion very good for the price. Also plus points for having gluten free options. Appreciate it. The pool on the other hand smelled a lot, there was some issue with sewage(?) and it got out on the stairs so the whole corridor smelled horribly, but as we were spending our days elsewhere, I didn’t really care about it. Park and the forest around is very nice, gives a really English vibe, especially when enjoying a drink outside on terrace. Also access is pretty easy, we used only Uber but they had no issue coming straight to the door.

Beautiful surroundings and beautiful main house. Then it all went down hill. The staff didn't seem bothered about the issues I had with the room. Various things broken and poorly made. The halls all had water leaking in and the smell was horrendous. Still waiting for my refund, I wished I'd booked a Premier inn. Avoid, you've been warned!

Our room was covered in cobwebs/spiders which had made their way into the bed. It made the rest of the room feel really dirty even if it wasn’t. It’s a shame because the bathroom is nice but nothing has been maintained very well. Our room wasn’t ready when we checked in, so we had a look round the pool which had the most disgusting smell. The breakfast was awful and so expensive for the quality of food and drink you got, most was inedible/ruined under the buffet counter lights. Staff were nice but there wasn’t many of them. Feels like false advertising as you don’t actually stay in the nice building shown on the pictures, you stay in a weird side building that has tunnels going around from the reception (like when you’re walking down to your plane at the airport).

Attended a works event. The grounds main building and food were lovely. Staff were nice and friendly, however considering how amazing the main venue appears the rooms are lacking. The toilet flush was broken..room 44 there was wood missing from the desk and the shower flooded into the carpet in the room. There was also a lot of condensation on the windows in the morning so clearly no double glazing. But we were comfortable with the temperature of the room. Some minor fixes would have made it a 5 star review. Other work colleagues complained about the size of the rooms -be warned they are very small but we had a z bed in ours and the room was average size, as we were given a slightly larger room. Breakfast was included and was very nice and served until quite late in the morning which was great

We stayed here because we were attending the Harry Potter studio tour. The hotel is about 6/7 minute drive (30 minute walk) to the studio which was ideal. The hotel and room was pretty standard. The room wasn't the cleanest and there were several things broken such as the tap and soap holder in the shower. We were only there for 1 night so not long enough to get a good feel. However, I wasn't too happy with our experience. After the Harry Potter tour we fancied a couple of drinks in the bar before going to the room. We headed to the bar and it was packed due to a Christmas party. My wife is 37 weeks pregnant so we didn't fancy a packed bar. We asked a member of staff if there was anywhere we could go for a coffee and were advised to come back in about 10 minutes because all the people will be moving into the function room. We thought that's fair enough and popped to the room. After about half an hour we went back down and the bar was empty. We asked for 2 coffee's and was told he couldn't so us a coffee because he would have to go to the kitchen and he told us to ask at reception. We asked at reception and was told there's coffee in the room. It just felt as though they couldn't be bothered. There is a nice little pub called the Kings Head down the road, however that wouldn't sway me to stay at this hotel again.

Stayed here 1 night as we were visiting the Warner Bros Studio, the exterior and location of the hotel is really nice. But for the price you pay there were a few things that needed fixing such as damage from moisture around the bottom of the windowsill and the breakfast was nothing special, the sausage was very bland and not enjoyable. For the price we were disappointed but it wasn’t awful, it did the job for the night.

Nice venue, although standards seem to have dropped. Went to an evening reception in the terrace marquee. All the staff are very friendly but unfortunately not enough of them. The bar ran out of glasses at one point, the evening buffet was served but was almost instantly cold as the chaffing dishes were cold as the burners had been lit too late to make any difference. Nice place and lovely staff, but a little disappointed sadly.

  • 4/5 Lynne D. 1 year ago on Google
Attended an evening wedding reception the groom said the staff & service throughout the day had been superb, as an evening guest there was quite a long queue for the hotel bar which was slightly cheaper than the wedding bottle bar but still ÂŁ4 for a pint of soda & lime? There is a need for some attention to detail ie. Cobwebs, peeling paintwork, metal rim coming away from tables which my husband cut himself on? Evening buffet was good but chips were cold. Good venue for a wedding as has stunning grounds for fantastic photo opportunities đź‘Ś Easy parking on pebbles...

My husband and I attended a wedding here a couple of weeks ago. Rooms were very small. Service was poor. We checked in at 3pm as per the confirmation email, however, our room had not been completely cleaned- the bathroom bin had not even been emptied and there were very unsanitary products in the bin. We asked at reception if they could switch rooms but as they were fully booked, this was not possible. Instead we were offered a complimentary drink whilst they cleaned the room. However, after spending 2 hours in the bar area, we went back to our room to find it has still not been cleaned. We didn't have time to complain again as we were in a rush to get ready for the evening reception, but I complained again in the morning. I was told that this would be followed up but I have not heard back. Breakfast was poor, with little variety and not the best quality of food either. To top off our stay, someone hit our car in the carpark over night. I was told the manager would be able to provide me with CCTV or further information, however, I have still heard nothing back, even after following up with an email. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is only a few minutes drive from the Warner Brothers Studio Tour. The rooms were clean, with modern bathrooms. We also had a large window overlooking the gardens, giving the room a lot of light. The restaurant was running on a reduced menu do to supply issues, however they were still able to provide a range of options to suit most dietary requirements.
