👍👍 Went there with my partner as we were staying in Timaru for the night. Love the Asian fusion menu and the ambience in the restaurant. We ordered the beef cheek curry and salt and pepper squid, amazing flavours and reminds me of home. We finished off with the Thai fried bananas, absolutely enjoyed it... Crispy bananas with caramel and coconut ice-cream, perfect way to end the night.

Street Food Kitchen is a little gem in the heart of downtown Timaru. Amazing Pork Bao Buns and the Beef Cheek Red Thai Curry is rich, sticky, spicy and fragrant. Plus some great craft beer on tap.

What a wonderful surprise. The ambiance was very good and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was absolutely on point, the paella was delicious, huge and so damn good it eclipsed all others I have tried. I would return again just for the paella. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

Enjoyed a meal here with a few lads. Well built and set out for various crowds. Menu offered exceptionally choice for single meals or if you wish a selection for 2 or more people. This consists of a 5 plate meal that is served of the night. Very filling for very little. Dessert is available. Best seller I believe is the Bao Bun. Very nice selection of various on tap and bottle beers and wines. Spirits are available

A nice place for group meals to relax and unwind. Nice gin selection and at affordable prices. Bao buns were tasty. Desserts were mostly fried and it tasted like it was fried in the same oil as other meats/savoury foods... So maybe fried desserts can be avoided. But the rest were good. Thanks.

Nice atmosphere, super helpful staff. Paella is quite good. Crispy squid: squid needs to be seasoned. Better to put on a flat plate as piling it up in a bowl doesn't help it to be crispy. Kaanga chicken: better with a different coating as too similar to the squid. A missed opportunity with the dipping sauce....boring. You could have really lifted it with some originality. Okay, but (Asian) street food it isn't

Great atmosphere, and the staffs are very friendly! Love the food, the beef cheek rendang is slightly heavy, with some veges or less coconut cream will be even better🫶 the guacamole is absolutely amazing 🫶

Street Food Kitchen’s ever-changing unique cuisine, wide range of craft beers, tasteful wines and evolving cocktail list is seeing South Canterbury move strides ahead in the hospitality world. Had Spanish paella, fries, and mojito .all perfect. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, had a good experience 👍 Also, you can enter a Speight's Ale house through street food kitchen restaurant.

Such a wicked first time coming here, the waiter remembered what we ordered off by heart and the food was beyond amazing. Our favourite was the chicken bao buns and the Karaage chicken. Definitely will be back!

Fun atmosphere, yumi food but menu could do with a few more options that are not deep fried. The salad was tasty but swimming in the dressing

Would definitely recommend if you are living there or just passing through! By pass the fast food places - this food is amazing and not that far out of the way so you can get back on the road! 5 stars definitely!!

Food was great, we had the Mex fish tacos and the Indonesian Beef rendang and cocounut rice and it was a good portion for two of us. The service was also friendly. We were so impressed we came back the next night but we had to leave without ordering because the server kept asking us to wait when we were already ready to order and then finally he went to a big table and took their order first and the waiting time became extended for us. So we decided that was enough waiting time for us.

Food was insane but sadly staff was lacking, no offer of drinks during meal or desert following us finishing our mains. Disappointed really.

Stopped only briefly on a bus trip, good coffee and delicious pork belly bao - sauce was sticky and tasty, pork was perfectly cooked and bao buns were light and fluffy

A great menu, lots of variety, and the food was full of flavour. Good sized portions and reasonably priced. Cocktail list is also worth a look. Quick and friendly service.

We came by for a late lunch as part of a road trip. There was quite a bit of street parking around the area and a parking lot nearby too. The restaurant is fairly large and does go back quite a bit into a larger dining area. We opted to eat by the bar with the taller tables and stools. The menu wasn't very big but did have quite interesting Asian inspired items on there. We grabbed the beef cheek rendang, pork belly bao and the loaded fried to share. The beef cheek rendagn was amazing. The beef was really tender and the gravy was really delicious. The coconut rice smelt and tasted of coconut and went really nicely with the curry. The bao was quite nice with the crispy pork belly. The fries were interesting as the chorizo was crisped up and scattered over the top. The fries were cooked nicely too. I did like dipping the fries in the rendang sauce. The prices were all quite good, under $20 and the dishes were quite tasty. I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the lunch choice.
