🏡This was my first time visiting this guest house, where you can hear the murmuring of the Tamagawa River from directly below, and the guest house has a chic, hand-built feel. There are also places where locals come to play after work. Communicating with nature. I brought it with my roommate and it was really delicious. I also gave her the peach I bought at the roadside station. It was a fun evening with the help of my fellow host.

A guest house with a cat. Used on the way back from mountain climbing. The first floor has common spaces (living room, kitchen, shower, laundry, toilet, etc.), and the second floor is the rooms. The first floor was like a bar, and there were many people other than guests, so it was a place to relax. ◎Recommended for these people♪ I like talking to various people I want to stay in an old folk house i like nature i like cats This time I came back from a mountain hike in the rain, so I wanted to relax in my room and go to bed after 11pm to relieve my fatigue, but I was in an old house and the walls were thinner than I expected and I could hear voices in the living room (BAR). It was making a lot of noise and I couldn't sleep until the bottom part opened lol There were about 10 people in the living room (BAR) of the guest house, so it can't be helped, but it may not be suitable for people who want to spend a relaxing time in their room. The staff at the guesthouse are more like friends than staff, so if you stay there like you're staying at a friend's house, you might get used to it quickly.

The cleaning was thorough, so I think it's good. The building itself felt a little old. ¥3,900 cash only for a room without meals. Wi-Fi is available. The person who explained it to me at the beginning responded well. However, I don't seem to use air conditioning very often, so it was tough for me as I tend to sweat a lot. If you insist, they will turn it on. 2023/9/15

Lovely chatty boss, cute cats, a comfortable and clean space, and a beautiful old house! Very close to the station and very convenient! You can have a relaxing and comfortable stay! Makes us from Taiwan feel very comfortable! The restaurant recommended by the boss is delicious! Especially for restaurants on the hillside, I am very grateful to the boss for helping us book a table for us who cannot speak Japanese! Because of the enthusiastic boss, we were able to eat amazing hot-pressed sandwiches and beef stew^^

I have been going to Okutama for over 10 years. It has a special place in my heart and mind as a secret getaway from Tokyo when I need peace and nature. I thought I knew all of the cool places here but when I stayed at Kityokawa Guest House, I felt like I unlocked something truly special and new that I can come back to at any time. Kazu and his staff are amazing, kind, friendly, and genuinely interested to getting to know you. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, and give you the feeling you are in the mountains. When one comes to Okutama you want the local vibe, not a 5-star hotel. This is the best place for that! The guest house itself is over 100 years old, from the Meiji Era. It’s has been beautifully preserved and maintained. You won’t get this kind of vibe in the city. The guest house is also right next to the river which make sleep a beautiful thing. You can gently hear the water as it passes over the rocks. Truly amazing and not overwhelming in sound when you need to fall asleep. The last icing on the cake is the common area in the guest house doubles as a local snack bar. You can bring your own drinks or Kazu and his staff can whip up a cocktail for you. I’ve lived in Japan 18 years, and Okutama never gets old. I hope you can enjoy it one day.

This is a cozy old wooden place right next to the river , the staff and host are all friendly and nice, that makes you feel very cozy and like home. Its only few minutes walk from train station, and there are two convenient store around. There are shared living room and kitchen which you can cook and hang out. I'll definitely love to go back again next time!

The small inn renovated from a small and exquisite old house allows us to have a good rest after returning from hiking. The friendly boss and cute cats make the inn full of warm atmosphere. I recommend everyone to stay here for one night!
