This used to be one of our top restaurants, but unfortunately, their food was disappointing yesterday. The restaurant atmosphere was good, and the garlic bread starter was delicious. Considering how busy they were, the service was good. Reading the menu paints a picture of exceptional food to follow. The description almost made me order the burger instead of my usual Sunday roast. My oldest ordered the burger plain with just the meat and the bun but could not eat it. The homemade beef burger could have been more tasty. Believing him to be overly picky, both me and my wife had a bite but could not eat more than one mouthful. My beef roast was described on the menu as "always pink unless asked for otherwise.". Unfortunately, what I received were two small flat bits of rather chewy, not pink at all, beef. The roast potatoes were rather bleak and not roasted in any shape or form but rather baked until brown in some places. The gravy was nice and managed to help the situation. My wife had roast chicken, which she could not eat. It was very plain chicken. She loves cauliflower cheese, but this was also unpleasant. The table next to us had a very tasty-looking casserole, which might have been a better choice.

Wonderful Sunday lunch yesterday. The food and all the staff were first class. Even though they were obviously fully booked with various Christmas party events, our food arrived promptly and the waitress never for one moment forgot about our small table of four. Very attentive to us. Thank you. We certainly will be back again.

Nov 2023. Visited today for lunchtime meal with friends. Pleasant service and atmosphere. We were fortunate to have a table close to a gorgeous open fire. Food was good pub grub type food.

Amazing scenery and surroundings, had a stroll around the public footpaths with the dog and then joined the amazingly friendly and professional staff at The Chaser Inn for one of the most delicious sunday roasts that we had in a while and a well deserved pint after the long walk. The atmosphere was great in the garden where we've had a proper sun bathing whilst waiting for the food. It's not the first time here, and it's definitely not the last. Already looking forward to the next visit ! PS. Have not rated the rooms as we didn't stay overnight, only popped in for food.

Unfortunately had a terrible experience here. We arrived with our dog for a late lunch and we were shoved in a corner in an empty room. Thinking it was because we had a dog we let it slide. Half an hour later we hadn't seen one single staff member and were sat still with no drinks. In the meantime some other customers walked through to the busy dining area with their dog so why were we in the empty corner? We had a lot of money to spend and were going to go all out. Instead we were forgotten about and we left. Will not return sadly.

Always been a favourite place of mine as I grew up in the area and remember coming here for different family events. Lovely country pub atmosphere, staff even though run off their feet can't do enough for you. Lovely delicious food. The Chaser will always hold a special place in my heart.

Sadly after many years have to agree with our friends that it has 'gone downhill'. The menu is pretty much the same and the waiting staff as good as ever, but the food is certainly different, mostly overcooked and in the case of my recent ploughmans the ham was as tough as shoe leather. Couldn't make a fuss as we had some foreign friends with us and didn't want to make the nation look poor.
