The market was created to de-congest Ọjà Ọba market. However, because of the town's growth, people still do business in Oja Ọba market. The purpose of creating the place is however not defeated because of the town's growth. One can get things there at affordable prices. It is a place that's centre of different whare houses in ilorin now. People from different parts of the country, especially the neighbouring states, Èkìtì, Ọ̀yọ́, Kogi, Niger, Ọ̀sun do come to this market to buy materials at wholesales prices. It is a Hub of business centre in the town, hundreds of thousands of dollars are being exchanged there everyday of the week, weekends and Sunday inclusive. You want to see where educated meets the illiterates? Go to this market when you visit the town. There are changes in the structures there as I visited the place today I noticed an expansion, some shops not occupied before are now occupied. There are built toilets there now, those toilets weren't functioning those days. Water pipes could be seen now as in this photos beside Mama Tope Testile stores.

You need raw food items - rice, beans, spaghetti, noodles, Semovita, seasonings, soft drinks, juices, and many more - all at affordable wholesale prices? Then, look no further but to head directly to this one of the major markets in ilorin. I guarantee that you will be glad with the prices and quality of the items you'll be getting right there. Cheers.

Oja tuntun was lively even being Sunday. You can buy everything you have in your schedule. It is a nice place to be on Sunday due to non crowded situation. Still the best place to shop for food items. I went on Saturday and the crowd is massive. I would still maintain Sundays' shopping for people that do not like excessive crowd situation.

Cool for yam, and meat when you don't want to go to Ganmo to make purchase. People around Surulere and Agbooba should find it economical.

As old as the market is still called Oja Tun'tun(New market) when there are other market that have been opened after this was comissioned. Even though most market wo/men from this market are now migrating to other markets like Mandate market among other. However,Oja Tun'tun still remain hub and plug for fabrics materials among all other markets in the state.

A stop shop for beverages, foodstuffs, livestock meat, vegetables, clothing material etc. The marker is arrange in sections. As regards the road network and traffic, the road is narrow and the traffic is usually bad around closing hours.

Old market standard nothing is Tuntun about this market, no parking space, no entrance or exit gate, the structure is poor and organisation is zero. No Public toilet 🚽 and not too far from the canal There are thousands of buyers and sellers here, they have a good price for food stuff and herbs. Fish isn't too expensive compared to what you get in the street. Finally, the market isn't bad but not too good to be tagged "TUNTUN" Government should shoulder 80-90% problems associated with this market while the market management should take the remaining.

Poor traffic control, difficult to know where to get what, poor sanitation and prices of products depends on bargaining power. However goods and wares are made available to the public at their door step.
