I donā€™t understand how a hospital intended to treat our cityā€™s diverse members is allowing a racist nurse to work here. The actions of Tiffany Raj and her family were horrific - spraying a senior with a hose when she was on her OWN property, telling her to learn how to speak English and then defending her actions by saying sheā€™s Asian herself - tell me HOW that makes it okay in anyway. Racist and cruel individuals have no place in our health care system and I feel sorry for all the patients who felt disrespected in her presence. As you can tell, many of us feel the same way and would like to hear how your team will progress with dealing with this individual.

Worst hospital in Ontario. Pulled up to the emergency department to see an ICU doctor outside his car smoking, meanwhile the entire premises is smoke free. Tried to visit my grandmother in the emergency department and was denied access, even had security called to escort me out of the building and was told to ā€œread the websites visitor policyā€ which states I shouldā€™ve been allowed into the hospital. Even in previous visits, long wait times - rude staff members - very low cleanliness standards etc. Spend the extra 20 minutes and head to another hospital.

I had both my kids here and had great experiences. But I broke my ankle a few weeks ago and a staff member told my husband to wheel me in and put me in the corner of the emergency room and he had to leave. She said she was going to take care of everything because it was so packed it was really hard for me to get around in a wheelchair. Which was no issue. The issue I had was waiting 5+ hours and when I attempted to ask another staff member why it was taking so long she brushed me off and said "look at how many people are here." I told her the pain was an 8/10 from my leg being down and not elevated for so long. Again was brushed off and than found out that the staff member at the beginning didn't even register me.. what a joke. I understand things happen but if someone just gave me a little bit of there time to check I wouldn't have been there from 12PM to 11PM. What a joke I tell you.. it was horrible. After finally getting in to see a doctor they were great. They took care of the pain right away and molded my ankle together until I was scheduled in for surgery. But waiting in the emergency room was the worst. The staff paid more attention to each other and chatting it away than they did the patients waiting. It was insane.

August 2023 5* Personally I wish that no one need to visit hospital for any wrong reason. We visited the place for our ultrasound. It took us 3 weeks to find the slot. The hospital is well maintained and clean. We took early morning appointment (7:30 am) so it was not busy. Staff at diagnostic centre was very helpful. The process was quick and smooth. I think emergency section is stretch right now owing to high demand. Parking is little expensive and it costed us around $9 for one hour.

I can honestly say that my health has significantly deteriorated since visiting this place. This hospital lacks communication. They are also extremely unhelpful. They do not care about the patientsā€™ well being whatsoever. Someone who is willing to seek help for their mental health should not have to wait over a week to learn that all their time waiting was in vain. I donā€™t think they realize what impact that has on patientsā€™ well-being. If you are going to deny patients help you should tell them up front and not make them wait. That is the opposite of helping someone in need. Because of them my family members mental health has deteriorated severely to the point I am more worried about them than before. What irony. You go to a hospital to seek help, wait a week to learn you are denied based on your postal code. Maybe you should have signs telling patients that so they donā€™t waste their time? Maybe have knowledgeable staff? And when you deny someone the help they need you should have the knowledge so that you can direct them to the place where they can get support. At this hospital they simply do not care. (Edit: they recommend I call and email A MONTH later on response for google. I have already emailed and called. They were not helpful on the phone either. All responses are same script anyone can copy and paste into an email. Like their response)

Obviously the CEO of this hospital needs to be fired and the Patient Experience Department needs to be replaced with competent people who can make real changes. Hospital should then refocus on the doctor and nursing staff for them to understand what competent and compassionate medical care actually means. I've been to this hospital over a dozen times and the service is poor to mediocre at best. Sometimes I feel like I'm sitting in a 3rd World hospital care setting while waiting. Doug Ford stop bellowing about how much funding you are putting into the hospital system. Most hospital workers know that a significant portion of that money goes to the fat bonuses of the Executive suite barely trickling down to actually spending money on more staff and equipment. If you are giving out bonuses to CEO's - base it on the feedback of the actual users of the hospital not on some efficiency cost cutting rating that negatively impacts service levels. Patrick Brown this hospital is in your city! Get involved and do something about the deplorable service levels. The tax payers of Brampton and the province of Ontario expect better service than this.

I came to get help from a severe dog bite on two different parts of my body, I walked in at 1:00am which showed a 3 hour wait, however I didnā€™t get into seeing a doctor at all. I was waiting for the doctor up until 6:15am and no one helped me clean my wounds, or gave me medication, or helped me with a wheelchair. I have never felt so much negligence from a health care system where, people in this field seem to be numb to other peopleā€™s pain. It did not help me to go to EMERGENCY, please find another hospital for your injuries and needs as the doctors speak to patients with no empathy and care. IN FACT: I didnā€™t not even get to speak with a doctor or see anyone for my serious injury that could possibly lead to serious complications or worst case death. What have I learned from this experience? I have sadly learned that I need to take care of myself and deal with my own injuries by figuring out ways to get my own medications, surgeries or traveling to another country to get the help I need.

The 5 star reviews are provided by all the local guides. I thought private corporations and businesses did this to gain better paid rating online. And those show up first when the setting are set as the most relevant. This canā€™t be the strategy to mitigate a real problem that this hospital has been facing for many years. Poorly managed staff treating the sick and unwell people poorly. It is a shame. Sadly this is the hospital closest to our home and the ambulance only provides service to the nearest hospital, so we have had few trips for my father in past few years. Every time he has been here he come back with a firmer resolve to not go back for any services. And it takes a lot of convincing from his family when medically ill to go seek medical attention. This leaves the family with guilt and emotionally stressful experience. Very poorly managed hospital. If the health care was privatized it would have been better services. The president and board of member may have not experienced the care here as a patient themselves and may not have right experts to resolve this recurrent issue with many people. They can say we have shortage of staff but this is no excuse for not been treated with dignity.

The older nurse in the Endoscopy department with light brown hair was absolutely horrible and rude. Bad mouthing the front desk staff, impatient with me, overall a very unpleasant experience with her. When I pulled my mask down for a temp check, she asked why I have two nose rings instead of one and then mumbled under her breath something I couldnā€™t hear. She asked if I was an anxious person and I am, and she said ā€˜I can sense it. Youā€™re not cool like a cucumberā€™ Maybe consider who you hire. Nurses are supposed to make you feel safe, comfortable. Not like youā€™re an inconvenience to be at the hospital. I didnā€™t WANT to be there. I HAD to be. Disgusted and appalled by this ā€˜nursesā€™ behaviour.

Believe the bad reviews. Iā€™ve had to go here twice in one month and the way I have been treated is atrocious. From being left in a room for over an hour while Iā€™m bleeding all over the stretcher to waiting in the hallway for over 7 days to get a room, others of their background just get one after waiting a couple of hours. Laughing at you when you ask whatā€™s going on cause they really couldnā€™t care less as they know whatā€™s up. Iā€™ve sat here and watched how they segregate people. Certain races get their own rooms and others are placed together. Just walk down a wing and youā€™ll see for yourself. Openly practicing segregation, and discrimination. Disgusting. While the doctors and a handful of nurses are nice but many nurses there donā€™t care about their jobs or patients. Constantly lying about when youā€™ll get a bed all the while I see beds available and they just make excuses. I never knew it took 6 hours to clean a bed and area in a shared room. Or being told that yes a bed is available at 12n, (No ones in it) but you wonā€™t get it till next day?? The only thing that Iā€™ve seen is when someone makes up noise and causes a code white things get done. I didnā€™t want to believe the bad things many have said about this hospital but Iā€™ve experienced it and itā€™s true. A Horrible place.

Unfortunately me and many other parents have to go through the rude and unprofessional behaviour of Emergency staff of this hospital. My daughter got injured herself and had a big cut on her toe. We took her to emergency while bleeding. After sitting there 5 and half hour we had to leave the hospital without seeing a doctor since there was no doctor in TAZ area. Only answer we got from the nurse that she donā€™t know when Dr going to be available to see the child, we got into the emergency room by midnight and till 3:00am no one see my daughter and assessed her wound. Instead of helping the patients nurse got upset and told everyone to wait or leave. There was no empathy for the patients. Even she threatened the patients by calling the security. I request concerning department to take action against the management of the hospital. This hospital is going bad to worst in recent months. Worse hospital with 1.9 ratings.

Horrible Experience. Just do not visit this hospital even if you are dying ! I would recommend to die in a better place than here ! I went to emergency as I had a fall and injured my foot and the waiting was for 3 hours . After that a doctor attended me just for a min and said I have a fracture. No further information given , just left . I was forced to buy the Air Cast wherein I mentioned that I already have one at home and they charged me $150 however when I saw the actual charge on the wall was $140. I really donā€™t know why have they charged me $10 extra ?? Later I got an appointment with the Fracture Specialist and the Dr.Rizek. He was so much in hurry like I had few questions. He gave me a booklet and asked to me to read and understand my pain and what steps to take further. Absolutely unacceptable and not appreciated. Doctors are life saviours and these people have so much attitude, not even fake empathy. I feel sorry for you all more than myself.

Took my daughter to Brampton Civic and we are here still, as I am writing this review. 3 1/2 hours and still waiting to be seen by a doctor. The nurse puts you in room and then is never seen again. No one comes to check if you are still breathing; no updates as to how much longer it will be. Even though you are experiencing pain and dizziness, your are just left in a room. Staff walking around with sweaters, T-shirts that boast that they work in Emergency- Nursing; and they do not even care about the sick people they have placed in rooms and left there. As, a Registered Nurse I, am embarassed to witness first hand the lack of Empathy. Caring and Compassion that this ER is displaying. (This is a big part of the reason why I live in Brampton and refuse to work at any Brampton Hospital) So not impressed with this facility. We saw more of the environmental service workers than we did Nursing staff. Thank you environmental service workers!! ER cleaning was immaculate!!

Despite my circumstances, I had a very positive experience at Brampton Civic Hospital. Friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable staff. I received the best care for my day surgery. Don't judge a hospital or medical facility based on their Google Star rating. All of the staff are hard-working individuals who deserve the utmost respect. The hospital was very clean and organized. Front desk staff were very helpful. Remember: You are attending a hospital, not a vacation resort.

I gave birth to my baby here on the 7th of December. I was very nervous about this hospital because of all the negative reviews I read. Absolutely every single member of staff was absolutely lovely and took very good care of me. My nurse Alyssa was wonderful. My birth experience was very positive. I would absolutely recommend this hospital and for all the moms to be, please relax. My husband and I were put into a ward room where a bathroom was shared with two other ladies. It was still quiet enough for my newborn and myself. The hospital food was OK, not great just OK. Your partner can always get you food from outside. All in all, a great experience.

I had the unfortunate experience of visiting William Hospital recently, and I must say it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I can't express enough how disappointed and appalled I am at the level of care and service I received during my time there. Firstly, the staff was incredibly unprofessional and uncaring. From the receptionists to the nurses and even some of the doctors, it seemed like they were all just going through the motions without any genuine concern for the patients. I felt like I was just another number in their system, rather than a person in need of medical attention and empathy.

My father had a cardiac procedure this week. The cardiac floor is a glorified concentration camp. I canā€™t believe the level of service nurses are allowed to dish out at our cost. In any other job they would be fired. Donā€™t leave your loved ones unattended is the best advice I could give. The level of rudeness at this hospital would break any heart monitor.

I am writing this review, hoping this will bring some change to the level of care being provided at Brampton Civic Emergency department. I unfortunately had 2 ER visits recently, in May and June 2023. Both times, the staff showed such lack of empathy and urgency to my sons condition, in spite of him being visibly in severe pain. It took 4 hours before he was seen by a doctor and given pain meds. They put you in queue, and tend to you on a first come, first serve basis and not on the level of pain a person is in. In addition, the staff doing blood work, were not just impolite, but I noticed were outright rude to another patient. I would urge William Osler Health Care to pay attention to the numerous complaints and put some focus on training its staff on a key component of their job in health care, which is Empathy. The ER staff is unfortunately giving a bad reputation to BC and rest of the staff at the hospital.

Not sure why this hospital has such bad reviews. The nurses were good, the doctor was quick but that is because he is so busy. I understand coming here for emergency situations can make people more irritable, but I honestly don't have a complaint. It's your typical hospital. If you think the Ontario healthcare system is bad, just go to Quebec and see how blessed we are here.

Nurses leave your parent in soaked or poopy diapers too long. Father is agitated with poop and soaked diaper on. Nurses should check patients diapers more often and not leave it for so many hours. Some nurses care and some don't. I'm not too happy with this hospital. One nurse pushed wheelchair table so tight on dad's stomach like a muffin top and being squeezed. It is good I came by. Another nurse tied/restrained dad wrists so tight, it was purple. If your family or friend is here, make sure to check up on them. Why be a nurse, if so rough and not caring? Absolutely disgusting care system.

I would NOT have gone to this hospital if I didnā€™t think I was dying. No doctor follow up after my surgery and I wasnā€™t even given any antibiotics. My follow up with the doctor is after 3 weeksā€¦ What am I supposed to do till then? Die of anxiety that something might happen to me? I havenā€™t been given any phone number or anything to be able to contact anyoneā€¦ what kind of compassionate care is this? Let alone comforting the person whoā€™s about to be operated uponā€¦ the whole team is just chatting away about food and weather and giggling. The person lying on the operation table isnā€™t there by choice.. have a little compassion for Godā€™s sake! I was just given a sheet of paper and asked to go homeā€¦ I would never go back here even if I was dying.

Over the last 15 years Iā€™ve always had the best experiences at this hospital. The emergency staff were able to diagnose my pituitary tumour after many other doctors and specialists had missed it for years. I recently had surgery here on a fractured ankle, and everyone was so amazing and kind despite it being a hectic time during the pandemic. I am very grateful to all the doctors, nurses and staff here. Thank you! šŸ™ā˜ŗļø

my mom had 5 seizures before arriving at the hospital, the paramedics who came were rude and dismissive of my mom even after witnessing her seizing TWICE, when we arrived, the one paramedic who stayed to ā€œsuperviseā€ us was sitting away from my mom, talking to her co workers and going on her phone, without letting us know anything that was going on or what we were waiting for. after we were moved from the entrance area we were put at a desk and then left alone for 30-40 minutes with no one acknowledging that we were there, a doctor or nurse came and tried and failed to give my mom an IV and then called someone else to put it in, they took blood samples and promptly left them on the counter in front of us for 4 hours, we were told she was going to get some type of blood test done and a CAT scan, 3 hours after they took her blood sample we got sent for the CAT scan and then promptly returned to the desk, after another hour the morning staff started coming in and informed us that we werenā€™t allowed to sit with my mom and that only one person could be there at a time, when we asked for clarification since weā€™d been sitting there for 4 hours with little to no explanation as to whatā€™s happening, she walked away and then a security guard approached us and escorted my sister and i to the waiting room. when my mom was finally released they gave her no treatment or help what so ever and told her to go to a neurologist. absolutely appalling service.

Only commenting on the facility itself! William Osler Health System, formerly William Osler Health Centre, is a hospital network in Ontario, Canada that serves the city of Brampton and the northern portion of the western Toronto district of Etobicoke. It has three hospitals in Brampton and Etobicoke respectively. The network is named for Canadian physician William Osler, one of the four founding professors of Johns Hopkins Hospital and developer of the concept of medical residency. The hospital emergency department is one of the busiest ones in Canada and the hospital itself is one of the largest mental health and addictions programs in the province. They are specialized in acute care, and are devoted to providing the best care for the people they love!

Very strict and limited visitor policy remains in place even when the patient is in palliative care and at end of life. Repeatedly denied the majority of my family from seeing my grandmother before she passed on March 9 2022. Yet for some reason we were allowed all the visitors we wanted after she passed. What a slap in the face. If you donā€™t want to lose the opportunity to say goodbye to a loved one, go to a different hospital.

Horrible!!!! Some of the nurses are so rude. After waiting for 7 hours in the emergency room, we asked how much longer. The nurse literally said, we only take care of the people who are about to die, the rest can wait. Are qualified and educated people even working here? Telling someone who is in an extreme pain, that i have to be in the state of dying to get checked. Disgusting!!! I hope Canada privatizes Health Care. Iā€™m happy to pay for educated and qualified people. Not for these rude and horrible nurses!!!

I am happy that I went to the ER and received the treatment. Even my 5-year-old son was admitted to ER, because of his asthma condition. It is true that sometimes, we have no beds and we have long wait times. But the treatments are a pretty good standard, rather than going to a family physician. I went to the family doctor before my condition worsened, but she was always busy with appointments. I personally believe, that at ER, doctors identify immediately what the patient needs, and nurses are very efficient and kind. I genuinely appreciate their service and hard work. The authorities should take care of the improvement of the infrastructure and other necessary facilities.

This hospital treated my daughter horribly. I wish I never took her there. I took her to the mental health unit. They made her cry everyday. Wouldn't even let her have water at times. The nurses and staff are extremely rude and so is the doctor. The programs are not helpful at all. The scrubs they make you wear are so thin and the kids there are freezing at night. Would not recommend at all.

Worst experience of my life giving birth here. Rude unprofessional nurses in labour and delivery. The room is so hot and the windows donā€™t open. If you donā€™t have insurance or want to pay $300+ dollars for a private room, be prepared to have another baby/family waking you and your baby up constantly. ANOTHER THINGā€¦The anesthesiologist also left me with permanent NERVE DAMAGE from a failed epidural. Please do not go here. A newborn just died from poor handling of a ā€œdoctorā€ here as well, look it up. I recommend Humber river hospital or anywhere else for that matter.

My experience at this hospital is honestly bad experience for the first time visiting this location. Crazy it's literally 12am 30/01/22 and the waiting room is literally empty. I came here with my pregnant wife, and was told by the security that I can wait in the waiting room area due to covid I cannot go in with my wife while seeing the doctor, then apparently the security guard shift so has change and now being told to leave the waiting room area the entire hospital to be exact by the new security gaurd on shift and some assistance lady to wait in my car until my pregnant wife is being released after seeing the doctor. She even threatened me to get security to escort me out the building. Just minding my business waiting and felt targeted by these individuals for no reason

I have had good and bad experiences at the hospital. I recently had to go to emergency with gallbladder pain. Put up with it for over 13 hours hoping it would go away. I knew it would be a wait to be seen but it was expected. Blood tests and urine sample was taken. Next thing I knew the doctor showed up in the waiting room, said you are being admitted. Had an iv hooked up immediately because of severe dehydration and very low blood pressure. I ended up in SIMCU for 7 days on IV fluids (which was frustrating), had a procedure to remove the stones causing the blockage.....waited until things settled and my gallbladder was removed. The nurses and doctors were absolutely amazing!

Poster child for hallway medical treatment. If you can avoid going there abd have the time to go to another hospital, do it. Ask your paramedic what they would advise. They know the inside scoop. Wait times are outrageous. There are more paramedics in the hallway (who have to supervise patients until they get checked in) than medical staff. I was in emergency for 18 hours and the entire time, in the hallways. No privacy and they are quick to discharge.

My aunt has recently been brought to sub-acute room number 22. I must praise the entire staff there. Nurses and staff in various shifts have really been kind in the past 2 days. They all maintain high professional standards of work. Thank you William Osler! Also, a big thank you to the Peel Paramedics team who managed her initially and performed their tasks very professionally!

I recently visited Brampton Civic Hospital's emergency department, and I must say, my experience was quite positive. Despite being there for about 3 hours, I didn't feel like I was waiting endlessly, as there were ongoing tests during that time. Most of the staff members were extremely polite and considerate, although a few might benefit from some additional patient interaction training. This was my first time in an emergency setting, and I was initially apprehensive after reading some reviews. However, my actual experience was nothing like what others had mentioned. It's worth noting that experiences may vary depending on the day and time of your visit, but I left with a favorable impression of the care provided. Thank you!

Most staff lack protocols with family and power of attorney disputes. Didn't get to see my grandma before she died, due to staff saying poa said no visit in cardiology and in stroke unit they say you need a restraining order to prevent visitation to a patient. Vice lack Versa in this hospital. Lack of communication when you call for an update of your love one. Took 5 days for an actual nurse to call me back. Terrible experiences in this hospital. Not to mention another incident, brought my love one to emergency and emergency doctor gave diagnosis wrong saying love one has pneumonia, but in fact kidneys were failing at 3% and causing the body to build up fluid and body swelling from head to toe. Love one needed dialysis asap. I'd give 0 stars for this trashy and incompetent hospital!

Checked in and waited an hour past the appointment time. Everyone was friendly. Got everything done! The surgery appointment is 6 months apart. Which is insane. But itā€™s not the hospitals fault.

The care I received today was beyond amazing. I broke my foot in multiple places and was brought in my ambulance. From the registration nurse, to the technicians, doctors and nurses THANK YOU. Everyone was nice, polite, patient and informative. It was super busy

This review is based on my individual experience, and I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received at Civic Brampton Hospital in Brampton. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the staff members, including the dedicated doctors, compassionate nurses, efficient lab staff, and helpful admission staff. Your commitment to providing top-notch healthcare is truly commendable. The speed and attention I received during my visit were impressive. It's essential for people to approach hospitals with a positive attitude and remember that the staff here is not just providing medical care but also delivering exceptional customer service. This balance is not easy to achieve, and Civic Brampton Hospital does it remarkably well. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone in need of medical attention. The professionalism, care, and dedication of the entire team are truly praiseworthy. Thank you for making my experience a positive one. Keep up the fantastic work!

Lots of people experienced bad taste of emergency services at BCH, and it was my turn when I show up with my mom emergency. I have seen the rush and over whelming crowd who required immediate attention, also seen the amount of protocol and procedures to follow by nurses and Doctors. My disappointed was then when they told us to go home after 8 hours of wait and blood work, X-ray and CT scan and NO Consultation with attending doctor, ....How can you send patient home without any consultation or diagnoses ?? I had to wait to ask and wait for her to tell us, but NO real explanation, seems that SHE was not sure the reason of the symptom. Some Suggestions: 1) Please cut down some unnecessary procedure and tell us what is happening to patient while waiting, Please don't let us wonder and assume. 2) Should have better experience doctors who can diagnose faster, prescribe medicine and explain to patients, so they feel they got the service. It's very important that Doctor take time and explained. 3) Lots of room to improve, please take action necessary.

Update: they are telling patients to take home their jewelry. This is a lie. I've learned this has been a huge issue for at least 11 years. The staff get away with it. My fathers wedding ring was stolen off his hand while he was dieing and strapped to the bed by a staff member. An "investigation" was done and nothing turned up. They said sorry and that was it. My mother and us are devastated. This is disgusting and unacceptable. They should be ashamed of themselves. Since this has happened we have heard of many people with similar stories.

One of thr worse hospitals ever. They are very unprofessional and unorganized. I have a family member in the mental health ward currently being treated and they don't know which staff member called me, they rush you off the phone and they are very rude. This is a difficult time and they make it more difficult. My family member has been in and out of there over and over several times. I'm going to try to have her moved to another hospital. They don't even care at all about the patients it's like an assembly line. Really sad

I had surgery done yesterday & the staff in day surgery was phenomenal. They were kind, helpful and did everything they could to make sure i was comfortable. My anesthesiologist was so kind, and helped ease my anxiety before my surgery. Same night I opened one of my wounds while i was sleeping & Dr.Hayes in the emergency department was absolutely amazing. He was kind, and helpful and explained everything he was doing while stitching the wound to stop the bleeding. Everyone i met yesterday was kind and helpful, and iā€™m very grateful to be at home resting comfortably.

My grandmother was transferred to this hospital for a suspected stroke on Tuesday and it still waiting on a stretcher, for tests to be completed. 0 communication from doctors as to whatā€™s going on as far as a treatment plan. After having emailed patient care, if nothing is dealt with the next step will be the ombudsman. This hospital needs to hire better staff and compassionate doctors. Absolutely outrageous.

Worst Staff Experience Ever. Are you guys serious, 5 Hours for Blood work and Report?? Where on this Earth should it take 5 Hours for blood work and seeing the Doctor?? Where is the efficiency?? Pls bring in more Doctors and staff if required and pls not have patients wonder around outside for hours and hours. My Wife Pregnant required a blood work to be done from the Hospital as recommended by our family Dr. The test was to be done from Hospital as outside testing facilities were not able to do so as required by our Dr. My wife went in today at 12 noon and still not out yet from the hospital. A Highly Poor Management.

They help not only for your recovery but they also provide moral support to the patient. Dr. Le is a great doctor. Had a great stay over there. Thank you everyone who cared for me during my hard time. šŸ™

This is by far the WORST hospital ever. I came into the ER this morning because my wife had an eye infection, arrived at 7 in the morning and not one SINGLE nurse came to check on my wifeā€™s condition. Came back took my wife to her workplace at Etobicoke General and literally within minutes she was helped and referred to an eye specialist. I highly recommend going to any other hospital. STAY FAR AWAY FROM BRAMPTON CIVIC HOSPITAL.

We had our first baby here and our overall experience was very good. Decent rooms with very experienced doctors. My wife had to undergo emergency caesarian and our doctor was very proactive and swiftly acted on the situation. Maternity ward deserves better recognition than it gets.

Big and fancy hospital with careless staff! One of the worst hospitals I have ever seen in my life. They make you wait for hours even in serious emergency situations. So.etimea it seems as if there's only 1 doctor taking of the entire hospital. I have seen small kids with fractured leg crying for help for 4-5 hours, its so painful to watch. There were people with chest pain that waited 6 hours to see the doctor. I wonder why they use the word emergency when everything is so slow. The staff only care about their time shift, they are least bothered about the patients and they hardly listen to patient's problems. Very disappointed!

I found my self in emergency June 2020. I know that Corvid 19 has upset the normal process of how things are done. However, I would expect that empathy and care would be consistent. I was dizzy and barely able to walk, and the nurse call me and said come in this room, I started a long walk to the room, only to see her eyes rolling over and her body language change, then I had a nurse jab a swab in my nose unexpectedly and then commented, "everybody know this is uncomfortable. As I waited in a room, unable to move at midnight, I ask the nurse if she can please dim the lights, she said, we cannot do that, we would have to take that entire unit light off, they are rude and uncaring. Fortunately the doctor came by and said, your should get some sleep while we wait, and took the light off. I think that when you are sick, and in emergency you can expect to be given some care, why should we have to tolerate such poor behavior from nurses at this hospital. Is patient care not important, is bedside manners a thing of the past. No one wants to be in emergence care. This is truly a case of a bunch of bad apples, and they need to be removed from service for treating patients poorly.

My mom was admitted to the hospital back in May and she was there for two months. Thankfully, she made a speedy recovery and was able to come home to her family. On behalf of my entire family I would like to thank each nurse, physician, psw and rehab staff that took care of my mom. Thank you so much for all that you do everyday; it does not go unnoticed and we really appreciate you all. I would like to extend my gratitude especially to Sam (psw) and Sheila (rehab physiotherapist) who were exceptionally wonderful and went out of their way to make my mom feel comfortable and focus on her journey to recovery.

I want to give zero star because even if person dying because of pain or bleeding still wait time is more than 4 hours before to see doctor. Even my wife dragging herself to keep asking how long itā€™s take even I ask they kept saying they are coming to see you but after this conversation they showed up after 2 hours.so total wait time to see doctor in emergency is more than 5 hours. In the beginning, lady was in triage number 1in emergency said why you guys didnā€™t go to doctor. We didnā€™t response for this questions because at that moment time was 2:00 am I donā€™t know any doctor which open 24/7 as far as I know only doctor is available is in emergency ward. May be she know doctors who are open from home at midnight. Moreover when I asked how long still we are waiting for doctor and they respond doctor is on round to see patients when she done. she will come back to see you. More 2 patients were waiting for doctor. My question to hospital is do they have one doctor available at time? 0 star

One of the worst hospital Iā€™ve ever seen. I walk-in there just to get a check up because my nose was bleeding and the receptionist said if you donā€™t have a health card then you have to pay $1000 for just visiting. Well I donā€™t know if they are providing treatment or giving you a check up in some kinda luxury style. Iā€™m also a worker at Sickkids hospital Toronto and i have been working there from 6 months never seen these things that you have pay $1000 for just visiting infact their first priority is treatment not payment . BRAMPTON CIVIC HOSPITAL IS A TRUE IMAGE OF DEPICTING MONEY OVER HUMANITY. Iā€™ll suggest everyone donā€™t go there unless emergency. There are lot more doctors who care about patients first.

The doctors at this hospital are rude if asked what they are doing to you. They expect you to take medication and receive treatment without asking any questions about what the medication is, what the process is they are doing, etc. I know doctors are trained for patient education so this was very disappointing. I asked the doctor the same question twice (because She went through her answer so fast and so vague I didnā€™t understand) and she got upset with me. I think this is really messed up and I wonā€™t forget how it made me feel. You canā€™t be so rude and just assume everyone understands you the first time around. Especially not in a practice such as medicine. This is health and life so comprehension is very important and should not be taking lightly, or rudely for that matter.

I visited the hospital because of my 11 month old baby was sick. There was 6-7 hours weight time at night. They have no milk (formula milk) for baby at the hospital. My baby was hungry and they said we have no formula avilable. Today they were giving toys to children on Christmas avenues , but it would be nice if they provided the milk instead of toys.

I am in labour and delivery, i have high blood pressure and were not allowed anyone to in the waiting room i have been her for approximately 5 hours now and have not been seen, as i went to the bathroom, apparently my name was called however instead of them recalling patients who missed there names the skip them completely anyways i notifyed on the nurses and i am still awaiting to go in funny enought there is two bed visible through the glass with now one on it. Anyways point of the story is that brampton civic needs to get more equipped with taking care of there paients, and pay some sort of attention to them and their needs its as if the works dont care they just wanna get the shift over and done. Hopefully they can transform from 2 starts to at least a 4 of 5 start hopstial please its peoples lives were dealing with.

grandfather in law was taken to emerg with pain in his groin area and swelling in his leg. He was there all day. No food or water given and they couldn't figure out what was wrong and sent him home. They didn't even give him anything for the pain. Whats worse is this is the second time something like this has happened. I had to go in for extra ultrasounds a month go to check on baby's health and was told I need to wait and see a doctor and the whole day passed and I was finally told the doctor wouldn't be seeing me. This is after I had inquire with a nurse and the ward clerk a couple of times, both who were very rude to me. Avoid this hospital if you can.

I was waiting in line for a blood test, after waiting in line for like 5 minutes I collapsed and fell unconscious, My mom and some other people helped me get back up. I hit my head and nose on the ground thus my nose was bleeding. I was feeling really hot then someone called the ambulance and came in 5 minutes. Those two paramedics were some of the nicest people getting me in the truck and to the hospital safely. Then I was put in a wheelchair with one foot holder so some nurse escorted me to some checking room and some Indian nurse didn't even help me get on the bed, I felt really weak, seemed like she didn't care but then I had to wait outside the room for like a few minutes and being escorted to some registration and this lady was rude, I did not like her attitude then I was escorted to another waiting room then I got off the the wheelchair and waited for like 1 hour or something for the doctor to show up in the room they put me in amd he cameamd was really nice, asked me what happened. Then I had wait 30 something minutes for a blood test and blood pressure check, the nurse's who did it was nice. Now, I had to wait 2 hours for my blood test results to see why I fainted. During waiting some nurse gave me some food which was very nice of her. The doctor told me it was a vagovasal syncope attack or something like that. So the doctor told me he would fax the information although he didn't mention who. Then I was discharged. Overall, the experience wasn't bad but really long waiting times. I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE OUTSIDE AGAIN DURING COVID-19, VERY UNSAFE. I'M STAYING HOME TO AVOID THIS TYPE OF ISSUE HAPPENING TO ME.

My husband has been brought in by EMS a couple of times since January and hospitalized once. The care and attention he received was first rate. People need to remember that this is one of the busiest hospitals in Canada and that they should seek help from their family physicians or walk in clinics whenever they can when they have non-emergency ailments. This would certainly help reduce the waiting time for actual emergency cases. There is also limited space in the emergency area so families should try and limit the amount of family members that arrive with each patient.

Recently, I went to Brampton Civic Hospital for getting stitches for my injury. Although I wait for more than 15 minutes I could not get a chance for registration. So I would like to know whether the paramedic who sent me to the hospital handed my health card to the registration counter or not. Therefore, I approached to the registration counter and asked the person whether they had my health card then the person from registration counter replied me that they had my health card. so I waited for about an hour but unfortunately, no body called my name for registration and my pain was getting worse. So I decided to go to Georgetown Hospital.

Probably one of the best hospitals I've visited. I was diagnosed with MRSA and was stuck in the pediatric unit for 1 week. From what i've experienced, Most nurses are nice to you if your young. Nurses here also try their best to do things around me. They tried getting a vein inside of me and ended up stabbing me with the I.V 5 times. I honestly don't blame them, They ended up seeing the vein anyway. Some nurses will even offer to clean your bed or, Offer to give snacks to you. Overall, If you think that your child might be admitted into this hospital, This is the right hospital for your child to go to.

On August 6, 2020 I went with my 5-year-old grandson to the William Osler Health System - Brampton Civic Hospital Emergency at 11:00 PM as he had a fever at home around 40-41 Ā° C. There was only one more patient waiting in the waiting room. During the initial interview, I explained that I had given my baby Tylenol just before leaving the house. I also added that my wife had tried unsuccessfully to visit a doctor at the clinic where, based on a telephone interview, she was advised to go to the emergency room at Brampton Hospital to have the baby examined and tested for Covid-19. After some initial interviews, we finally got to Medical Assessment Unit room 47 at 12.30, waiting for the doctor. I asked several times how long we had to wait, but no one was able to say when the doctor would reach us. The boy was exhausted and around 2:00 AM he fell asleep on my lap. Just before 3:00, my patience ran out, I took the baby and left the hospital expressing my opinion about the whole situation. There is only one emergency doctor on duty in this hospital in Brampton - a population of 735,000. Not only that we wasted almost four hours in the hospital unsuccessfully, but at the end I paid $ 15 for parking like the icing on the cake. I definitely do NOT recommend this hospital. It is better to take a longer ride and go elsewhere.

Extremely sad to be giving this rating to the hospital that had taken such excellent care of me and my newborn son in the labour and maternity ward in the past. Had to go in for an emergency COVID test for our family of 4, as directed by the Ministry of Health Peel region, since my 10 month old son exhibited one of the many Covid symptoms while at daycare. Having to take in a 2 year old and a 10 month old to the ER at a time way past their bedtime, after a long day of work was hard enough. But the 4+ hours long wait that went well past midnight before a doctor could see us extremely demanding and strenuous on the little ones and us! When at the end of the fourth hour when we still hadnā€™t been seen by a doctor, we decided to leave after letting the nurse know(a very sweet lady indeed) and apologised for appearing to walk away when actually we were doing it only because the kids were sleepy and loud and getting inconsolable..but we had barely stepped out of the main exit doors when another nurse chased us down and literally yelled across the parking lot at us for being rude and abusing the government money(really?? :( ) was very insulting to be spoken to like we were the abusers when in fact it was us who felt abused! When I tried to explain that we didnā€™t mean to be rude and had waited for 4 hours already and only left because of the kids and the time being so late, she was very dismissive and unwilling to hear me out...This was a nurse whom we hadnā€™t seen until then while waiting for the doctor..She worked in the ER around 12-12.30am, 8th August 2020. Though the wait was bad, we understand that this is a busy hospital and sometimes other trauma patients come before us...but the rude insensitive and insulting words of the last nurse we spoke to was absolutely unnecessary and unkind Once again- good job to the maternity ward staffs and all the other lovely people working the ER!

My very first experience/impression at the emergency was speechless. Rude lady at the registration desk really needs to learn to be patient and nice to people unless she is getting paid to throw stupid attitudes at people. She worked on 29th July 2020, around 2pm, desk #4. On the other hand doctors and nurses were really kind which is more important.

I find William Osler hospital needs to more empathetic when it comes to seniors with cognitive issues and allow family members to go in with the parent, specifically when going into oncologist for the first time to find out where the cancer is and help support their parent. The staff that are check patients in should be more empathetic towards families and stop puffing there chests out and threatening to throw families out for asking Questions about going in with there terrified families, and here in Ontario we have gold standards of health care and hipa. In which I believe this hospital lacks care and empathetic compassion. This has happened more then i would care to say about this hospital. One day it may be your parents, oh but wait, because you work there it will be different for your hospital family. I have witnessed this one more then one time

Zero stars. This hospital is atrocious. They treat patients absolutely inhumanely. I was with a relative who was pregnant at the time in the Maternity Ward due to pain that ended up being a bladder infection. The nurses took turns playing a game of ā€œguess her due dateā€ to see if she qualified be seen in that ward or to redirect her to Emergency. It was gross and humiliating. My relatives, A & B, were brought there by ambulance after a car accident. B was pregnant and was told by staff she needed an ultrasound. They did none and told her to go home, or visit emergency downstairs for a more thorough assessment ā€œif she wantsā€. ā€œAā€ was in pain and told by an RN to get up and walk because she wasnā€™t going to help her; not even to get up. She had to move around to be registered, assessed etc. I donā€™t know how there arenā€™t law suits against this place. They should not be responsible for caring for any living person or creature. Staff are beyond desensitized, unmotivated or in need of mental health help, because this level of depravity and carelessness should not be tolerated in a healthcare facility. Itā€™s unethical to treat people this way.

My wife started to experience some pain in her chest and back, we finally went to William Oslar hospital ER, we had an awful experience from all the touch points she went to. She was in severe pain and was finally getting some diagnosis stuff for her her, as she was progressing and getting, she was asking for help crying for almost the 5 hours, she asked for some.water 3 times still never got it? Was in a wheelchair and the technician ignored her because she couldn't get out of the chair, to get to xray and took the person behind her. She also needed help to get on the bed for her ekg with no help and in in pain? No one acknowledged any support or empathy for her severe pain. We were there 10 years ago and there was an article in the Guardian the the New CEO was going to prove the patients experience, he failed it got worst than the last time. This is not covid-19 related its about treating patients with empathy under there care, for my wife to say it was the worst 8 hours of her life ! Pretty sad for someone who never Complains! for it not to imptove over the last 10 years it is a culture, I see so many heroic first responders over the last 2 years, and many hospitals that seem to inspire patients, but not the civic or maybe just the emergency department , as I am sure everyone need to be be treated if it was there family members I am sure they would be disappointed in such a hospital that we all we so proud of when it opened, and I see some good ratings from Patients, but an overall score of 2? Now I know why.

I want to give a special thanks to the staff, nurses and doctors at Brampton Civic Hospital. Even with the shortage of staff, beds, recourses and COVID restrictions, they provided healthcare second to none. Being 64 years old and having my first operation ever I was nervous, scared and anxious yet they helped me through the whole procedure making it as positive an experience as one could hope.

Just finished baby delivery here. Can't say enough good things and don't understand why there are so many bad reviews. Everything was amazing. Dedicated doctors and nurses who had been always support us on time no matter day or night. As the first time parents, we were worried a lot but William Osler hospital gave us all essential things. We would like to thank labour and delivery team, especially nurse Nav who superior gentle and experienced. . I think all parents and other patients should be worry free and trust on this hospital.

Literally the real life St. Elsewhere. Overcrowded and underfunded, it seems like everyone working there is completely miserable and frustrated all the time and they always act so annoyed, especially those nurses, they need a chill pill. They are always in a rush and get upset when you ask them anything. Of course not everyone there is awful, there are a handful of individuals who are kind but as a whole I have had a bad experience with most of them. Even worse than the actual employees there are the other people waiting in line, they're completely inconsiderate and annoying: one guy was screaming on his cell phone in a foreign language while I was there. There seems to be a lack of rooms and space and there are patients in the hallways, there is little privacy or dignity at all. The day I was recently there I saw a doctor telling off one of the nurses, it was so unprofessional and rude. And then the doctor began talking down to me like I was a child and was so arrogant that I wanted to just leave. I didn't expect anything better from Brampton, the hospital is just a reflection of the city anyway. total decline. The best way to describe this place would be "Tired and Angry." Just go to another hospital please, any hospital.

Went in with several bruises, BROKEN FOOT, broken ribs, cuts... Due to Sleepwalking! After waiting 7Ā½ HOURS! TESTS, MRI and SEVERAL X-RAYS, THEY IGNORED MY PLEAS FOR X-RAYS OF MY FOOT, NOR OFFERED PAIN RELIEF! 8 DAYS LATER MY PHYSICIAN ARRANGED X-RAYS WHICH CLEARLY SHOWED A CRUSHED TOE! Thanks to ALL that IGNORED ME. P.S. The hallways were FULL OF COVID PATIENTS!! SAD, A BRAND NEW HOSPITAL IS ALREADY OBSOLETE AND OVERWHELMED, YET SADLY UNDERFUNDED!! GO TO PEEL IF OPEN! EXCELLENT SERVICE WHEN BROKE MY WRIST 3 YEARS AGO!

I literally never want to come here again, but it's the closest hospital near me. My mom had very bad chest pain and had trouble breathing, and we've been waiting for 6 hours only to get seen once and to get blood taken. We're still currently waiting while writing, but as I was saying, the staff here are unbelievably slow, and it seems like they don't care unless you drop down and stop breathing. They are careless here at Brampton Civic Hospital. I recommend taking a trip to Toronto!

Had an awful time at the fracture clinic of hospital. Went in on crutches with knee pain, had an appointment to see the doctor at 7:20am and didnā€™t get seen till 9:30am. Doctor saw me for 5 minutes and said I need an MRI and an appointment would be set up for me. After not hearing anything for 3 days I called the clinic and they said I have an appointment 5 MONTHS from now. Do they really expect me to hobble around on crutches for 5 months? DO NOT go to this clinic unless you are willing to wait a long time.

šŸ˜  Attn to: HR. Why are front desk staff so rude?? I wouldnā€™t be here if it werenā€™t for an emergency. People are scared and need assistance. There is NO need for staff to be blatantly rude to people seeking medical help. They act like their time is so valuable and that you are an inconvenience to them...
