Am I ever going to fall out of love with Farside? Very, very doubtful as long as it stays like this! This is still my #1 bar to go to and I'm just really happy it exists. Everything about it is exactly what I love, from the awesome crowd, to the decor, to the chill vibe, to the talented bartenders, to the location. 😍💕 Best bar in the east, hands down. [Edit] 3 years later: Yup, I still love this bar.

Super friendly staff even when they’re busy and slammed. Great cocktails and craft beer. Good vibes, nice layout and decor. If you’re into vinyls, they have a swap box in front of the bar. Similar to “Little Free Library - Take a book. Leave a book” method.

Best bar. They have the best beers. Staff is A+++. They cocktails are heavy poured and not pricey. My fav bar in the city

great bar in the neighborhood with music, vcr movies playing in the back, laidback vibes and good drinks. You go to the bar to order and claim a table/seat for yourself. Drinks were balanced and well priced.

Love this Gem! Fantastic atmosphere hands down. Between the old vhs tapes that get played, the pin ball machine and great beers on tap, you don't want to miss checking this place out. Will be back!

I never understood the appeal of this space. It's kind of a low-rent version of Mom's Basement on the Danforth. The room isn't very comfortable to hang out or sit, which is probably why people spend so much time in the bathrooms. Yes, that's gotta be it.

Fantastic bar. Friendly bartenders, good selection of drinks. Often they project VHS movies onto the back wall. Music is always great and I've been there when there was a DJ spinning vinyl records - rare in Toronto. Bathroom walls are covered with old comics. Probably the best bar east of the Don? There I said it.

Friendly service and great movies on VHS. On the weekends there are excellent DJs, too!

Great ambiance . Good drink selection. Sat on the patio and loved it. Brought our own food!

We recently attended Farside’s 7th Birthday party with friends this past week. The staff were amazing and friendly (shout-out to Max,Amy and Daniel) and the music was on point! Thank you to Farside for an amazing birthday celebration and we look forward to next year’s birthday!

My friend told me this was a dive bar and so I didn't really go but man I'm glad I did because I've never seen so many Jerry McGuires tapes in one place

always a great vibe. can get a little crowded, but not a downside. Barstaff are fast with drinks (even cocktails) and they have a decent variety of alcohol for such a little bar. Little dancefloor at the back, and WHAT - clean bathrooms?!? Woo!

Loved this place, only wished the music was a touch lower because my friends and I couldn't hear each other. But we're also all well over 30 so...maybe we're just old/uncool?😂

Look. This is a go to. If you have to ask why, I couldn't tell you. But they will make what I want and do a decent job at a decent price. Whatta ya want. It is a freakin' bar.

Stumbled upon this great little bar while looking for cocktails. It has a great atmosphere and the service is fast and friendly. And the cocktails were cheaply priced and heavy pours. Will definitely be returning here!

My girlfriend took me here as it's her older brothers favourite bar. I really enjoyed the aesthetic and the energy was great. The bartender made me a great amaretto sour with egg whites and I really enjoyed it. Only complaint was the volume of the dj. The music itself wasn't bad by any means, but was almost painfully loud. Though my gf is particularly sensitive to loud noises, even I had a hard time and I usually listen to music at very loud volumes. My only suggestion would be that if the music had been at a slightly more reasonable level, we likely would've stayed longer and bought more drinks. Will likely return regardless :) we had a good time overall.

Visited this place around 8pm on a Friday night in December. There were a few people in there, a movie was playing on a big projection screen on the back wall, and a good variety of music was playing from the 80s and 90s. I got a refreshing tequila cocktail from the drink menu, and sat in an antique-looking chair in the front. A good place to go and talk, at least at 8pm on a Friday.
