Wow, as we arrived I was wondering what to expect but don't let your self be fooled by the outside of the building. Its a small place, with lots of love to every single creature being. The animals are well taken care for. In there "education show" you learn a lot about snakes, lizards, spiders while the time just goes by without being noticed. Even my li'l one loved the "show". You can really tell that Paul has a passion for what he is doing and had a few points to let you think about and wonder. Super interesting and educational. - some animals (spider high five, snake tree or lizard spikes just for example) were allowed to be touched which sure was one of the highlights there today I'm super impressed and can't wait to come back to learn more about all theses li'l wonderful animals. Oh, I should add on everybody from the team crossing our way was very friendly, smiling and welcoming. It was just a joy over all to be here.

What a cool rescue reptile sanctuary. I took my son here not sure what I was going to expect but when we arrived we saw that the animals were pretty well kept and although the place is small it is packed full of reptiles. My son really liked it because he got some education during the live show and he got to touch a few of the reptiles. This was a really cool spot you should definitely check it out

Great place to go with a kid on a rainy day or for a date. Lots of different animals, all of them are being kept in great condition. Employees are incredible - they are very knowledgeable about the animals and bring them to you to meet and touch. Loved It there! It was my baby's first time at the zoo and he loved every second of it as well!

We had an amazing time at Little Rays Zoo. It was just me and my wife. We had booked for the Private Zoo tour + Sloth Encounter. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Especially our tour guide bronwyn (hope we got the name right πŸ˜…) She was extremely knowledgeable and gave us an amazing tour around the place and she also made sure we were comfortable while interacting with different reptiles and sloth. I would definitely recommend this place not only for the little ones but for us grown ups too.

I would recommend Little Ray's to anyone looking for an informative and entertaining place to learns about reptiles and animals. Our family went there for a private tour, as it was my youngest son's birthday. Known as The Reptile Man, Paul was funny, engaging and gave us some unique hands on experiences that the kids would never have had elsewhere. It was a memorable night for the family. Highly recommended to all.

Absolutely amazing little out of the way attraction. Do yourself a favour and go find it! Tucked away in the rear of a residential plaza, Little Rays is a hidden gem! Booked a sloth encounter for my wife’s birthday. Amanda from Little Rays walked me through the process through email as we were coming from Windsor. Extremely helpful! Then when we arrived she was our contact for the sloth encounter. My wife was blown away. Totally surprised when Amanda introduced her to Olive the sloth. She was able to hold her and feed her. Olive was beautiful, inquisitive and gentle. Amanda was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We took some pictures and received a lifetime of memories. Best birthday gift ever. Thanks Little Rays!

Had a fantastic time at Little Ray's Reptile Zoo in Hamilton. It's located in a bit of a sketchy neighbourhood but don't let looks deceive you. Once you're inside you are transformed into another world. Way more to see than what I anticipated would be there. Had such a fantastic time watching crocodile Bindi being fed, we also got to see a reticulated python feed, we held several lizards and snakes, and the piece de resistance was our snuggle time with a sloth named Olive. Highly recommend 🐊🦎🐍πŸ¦₯

Paul was amazing and so punny. He was knowledgeable about all the reptiles and animals. Learned a lot and had a great time with my sister and her friend. He also creates amazing artwork for the shop! Was nice getting to know him, seeing all the animals and reptiles as well as getting to meet sloths. Great experience. πŸ‘

AMAZING!! My 10 year old grandson loves anything sloth related. The fact that he could feed and hold a real sloth for 40 minutes was the best experience we have had together. Our adventure continued with us holding a TARANTULA and 3 snakes, petting an alligator, ferret, tortoise and an armadillo. Shows to watch and information to read at each reptile enclosure. A great day we will remember forever.

A local gem!! Amazing knowledgeable staff. Wonderful with children. Made our visit very special. 7 high energy children including a toddler were entertained, and had an awesome time. Parking is available in the plaza. Reptiles look healthy and well taken care of. Establishment is clean!! It's definitely worth a visit to RAYS. Adults, and children alike will have a fantastic learning adventure. If I am ever visiting the area again, we would love to revisit.

Visiting Little Rays Reptile Zoo was unforgettable experience as we got to hold and pet numerous lizards and snakes. Our curator Sophie was vey knowledgeable and was very patient and caring with the children who chose to pet and hold the reptiles. We also were thrilled to see the sloths and alligator and crocodile.

It was a very cool experience, I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to hold the sloth, and my kids didn't get to touch the sloth. But all and all, it was very educational .

We love this place. Aside from seeing the reptiles, they also offer presentations of different animals where you have the chance to touch and feel them. My 3 year old daughter loved the overall experience. Paul, our presenter, was very funny and knowledgeable. Kudos to the team.

We had the private tour and sloth encounter with Xander and it was phenomenal! He was so great with the kids and so personable. I can't say enough about how awesome the experience was. The private tour was definitely more entertaining than walking around on your own. We held tons of animals, scaly and fuzzy. They were very clean and conscious of everyone's health and safety. Also I met a sloth which was a dream come true. Little rays is amazing and majority of the animals are rescues, and have some pretty interesting back stories.

Kaitlin came to our home in Mississauga for an animal show for my daughter's birthday. She was AMAZING! She did such a great job with the kids. She was super patient with all of them, even though some kept interrupting her. I was really impressed with her patience as well as her knowledge of the animals and her interactions and conversation with the children. She is absolutely superb and I wanted to let you know how happy I am with her and with your services. Thanks for helping us have an amazing birthday party!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time here!! We did the private tour + sloth encounter with Paul as our tour guide. The price we paid was well worth the amazing experiences we had here. Paul was an excellent guide! He was friendly, knowledgeable, hilarious, and engaging throughout the tour. His passion for caring for the animals was apparent and it added positively to our experience! πŸ˜€ We got to feed the alligator a chicken wing, a banana to a very hungry tortoise, swiss chard to some very cute guinea pigs, and rice and sweet potato to the super adorable and sweet baby sloth Olive as I held her in my arms (She even fell asleep!🀭). This was definitely the experience of a lifetime for me as sloths are my favorite animal. πŸ₯° We got to feed and interact with the animals at this wonderful sanctuary. The energy in the zoo was very serene and peaceful. After leaving on the drive home, my boyfriend said "I feel like I just meditated". That really captures the essence of the energy in the zoo. This was a very unique and special experience for us. This was by far the best zoo experience I've ever had and would love to visit again! πŸ˜‡ I would highly recommend that anyone who loves animals goes here for a visit!πŸ˜€

Little Rays is so much fun! I signed up for the Sloth Experience, and got to meet Iris! Braedon, our guide, was super friendly and knowledgable. I got to cuddle and feed Iris -- it was so adorable. I've always wanted to see a sloth in person, so this was a huge bucket list item for me. There are other sloths you can view in their enclosure, and they are so cute to watch. The other animals are great, too! I would 10/10 visit again.

Great experience with my family here, this is a reptile sanctuary so all animals were rescued and they do not offer animals for sale. They have a show in the theatre every 20 minutes, very informative in the cute theatre surrounded by reptile cages. It does cost for entry, 2 and under are free, I paid about $55 for 1 adult and 2 children to go. Fair price, and it goes to them maintaining the sanctuary and the animals. Great experience for the kids, thanks for the educational experience.

We booked a sloth encounter at little rays in Hamilton, it was honestly the best day I had in a long time. After reading some of the reviews I wasn’t really getting my hopes up, but was still going to have the experience regardless of the reviews and judge for my self. I’m really glad I decided to still book it and go. It was absolutely so fun. The staff there are great! The lady who did the interactive show in the theatre (sorry can’t remember her name, actually we missed it because we were 2 minutes late for the show) was great! Really involved the kids and even the adults. Answered all questions guests had. Sloth encounter: Paul was fabulous! The encounter and the zoo was definitely worth the money. It was really cool being able to hold, feed and pet Olive. She was super calm and friendly, fell asleep on us because she was enjoying the pets so much. My daughters favourite animal is the sloth and these people really made her dream come true. Priceless. Overall, it was a great experience, recommend this place for sure! Only con: the area is a little sketchy but no reflection on the zoo what’s so ever.

My husband and I booked a sloth encounter session for my little sisters birthday (15 yrs) as a surprise for her. We could not have had a better time! Definitely surpassed our expectations. Abi was our handler and she was so sweet and very knowledgeable. We were welcomed in right away. Abi went out of her way to make my sisters birthday special. I also love hearing all about what Little Rays does for their animals. Extremely clean and Tidy. The animals are clearly well cared for and happy. You can tell the workers LOVE what they do with how excited they are to answer any questions you can think of and how well they interact with all of the animals. I highly recommend Little Rays! Birthdays, date night, a surprise for a loved one, or just something fun to go do, I recommend for all occasions! You won’t regret it 😊 Thank you so much!

It was AWESOME. Great tour. The kids LOVE IT. Worth every dollar. Great activity for kids and the family. The guide we had was FANTASTIC (her name started with a B lol. I don't want to spell it incorrectly) and very knowledgeable and friendly. The kids love having the opportunity to even interact with some of the animals which even enhanced the experience. Even the big kids aka the parents had a great time too. I recommend as a must go to activity for kids Good activity for multiple families and grandparents. Thank you Little Rays for a AWESOME time =)

The albino reticulated python closest to the tortoise enclosure has bulging eyes, most likely due to naso-lacrimal infection not being treated. This would explain why this snake is constantly rubbing it's face against the glass. Multiple reticulated pythons are being forced into cohabitation at this location. 3-4 snakes in the same enclosure built big enough for one snake. It's probably unintentional and due to lack of or outdated education and an obvious lack of space, but this is extremely cruel and it stresses snakes out to keep them cohabbed in the same enclosure, especially such large snakes like the ones you have displayed here. You are running the risk of these snakes injuring each other or worse, cannibalism. Just because it hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't happen and you are taking a huge risk by piling multiple animals into a space designed to hold one. Snakes are nortorious for cannibalistic behavior due to cohabbing and this is just horrible that you are either unware or don't care enough to do the right thing. This is so beyond disheartening to see. Another thing, you mention that ball pythons are nocturnal, yet you keep your ball python under a heat lamp that mimicks sunlight instead of a ceramic bulb or Under Tank Heater, which would mimick their natural habitat of abandoned burrows. This is why your ball python crawls around it's enclosure instead of staying in it's hide. It's a sign of stress and the ball python is trying to escape and hide away from light. Please do better. Perhaps look into building a PVC rack system for your over-abundance of reticulated pythons so they aren't forced into cohabitation. Seek medical attention for the albino with the disfigured eyes. That poor baby is suffering and if you think your visitors can't see it or it isn't obvious, you better think again.

What an amazing experience we had yesterday!! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about every animal we encountered. We had the sloth experience with private tour. We were very pleased considering Covid is on going they have everything in place for the safety of staff and guest. The location was very clean and organized animals were all out ready to visit. I will for sure be making another visit with the sloth early next year. Thank you Little Rays for the amazing memories

The strip mall is deceiving...this is a great little place to take the kids. It really depends on your child how long you will be here. A kid could run though the whole place in 15 minutes, or, like my child who really stops and looks at everything, it could take a few hours. The animals are well cared for and the animal shows are a great and safe way to get closer to some neat creatures.

We had a tour today and it was even more than I had hoped for. My three year old is non-verbal, and Paul was amazing with him! Paul took his time, made sure my little guy was comfortable with the animals, and kept him engaged, which can be hard to do sometimes. My boy usually doesn't like new people, but thanks to Paul's amazing personality not only was my boy interested in what Paul was doing, he was holding his hand and completely involved in the whole experience. I find that some places don't really put on the full show when they realize my son is non-verbal, they just show him around and tend to leave out the informative talks. Paul explained everything we were seeing, and gave facts pertaining to the animals and their natural lives and habitats. I honestly learned so much from him today and really appreciate how much effort he put into our visit. The people working with him are so friendly and helpful, you can see how much they love what they do! The facility is very clean, the animals are obviously very well looked after, and they have all precautions in place to have a safe, social-distanced, interactive experience. I will definitely be going back; I highly recommend everyone visits at least once! Thank you to everyone there for providing such an amazing experience!

The location looks dubious, but the Zoo itself is amazing. We did a private appointment this time, which was spacious, relaxed and informative. The sloth was obviously comfortable being passed around and fed by strangers. The other animals we passed were in very well maintained enclosures. The staff are extremely well trained and knowledgeable.

We had an awesome time here ! We spent 1.5 hours here. All the animal enclosures were very well kept and clean. Don't let the location or outside appearance fool you. There was lots to see but the best part was the theater show they put on about every half hour. The host, Paul was great, very informative and friendly. Very reasonably priced for the general admission, would have loved to meet the sloths but seemed pricey, I get they need to make money due to being a rescue. Would recommend for people with younger kids.

We did the combo tour with our work family - a group of 11 adults and 3 kids - to celebrate 3 birthdays. If I could rate 12 stars, I would. I'm going to try to frame this review in a helpful way to anyone interested/looking into booking this experience/venue! Booking Host: Candace (personal, prompt, helpful) Tour Guide: Alyssa (has her own section in this review) Recommendation for Day of | Be prepared to be dressed for super hot weather, bring water. It's extremely hot and humid inside the zoo. The Animals | Many kinds of snakes (including giant pythons), crocodile, alligator, many different kinds of lizards, owl, turtles, spiders (I skipped this part ;)), and of course - the incredible SLOTHS Olive (F) and Wicket (M). This paragraph doesn't begin to measure how amazing it was to see and learn about these creatures live. Tour Experience with Alyssa | I have to just say the most resounding THANK YOU to our guide, Alyssa. She did a tremendous job from start to finish in sharing about herself, her experiences, in educating us about every single animal (including taking the ones out that she could), ensuring just the right amount of interaction for those who wanted to participate, adding a beautiful touch of fun and laughter with humour. What I am most grateful for is that Alyssa did this combo tour with our entire group (which I don’t doubt was a feat in itself) of 14, without skipping a beat. Thank you so much, Alyssa! Sloth Experience | Unreal. We had a huge group (max recommended participants is 6), so we were prepared with participant prioritization (aka kids and birthday guests). Alyssa gave us a head's up at the start that the sloths were not too keen on guests that day which we at first were disappointed by - but of course we understood completely in prioritizing the animals and their safety/comfortability. In spite of - an incredible experience - and they did come around; we were able to feed them, take some great photos, and even touch them. Thank you to this amazing facility!

My daughter is in love with sloths, we took her here for her birthday. Abby was so wonderful with my daughter and made the experience a great one. We got to feed & pet the sloths. We stayed with the sloths for 20 mins and were able to use the extra 10 mins we paid for to get a private experience with some of the other animals, definitely worth the price point. I would highly recommend the sloth encounter! We would love to come back again πŸ’•πŸ¦₯

It was an amazing experience seeing a different variety of reptiles in this lovely enclosure. We got to pet some animals - Rocky the caiman, a ferret, a baby dragon, Moo-Moo the snake… it was so much fun for my son. We also experienced feeding rats to some snakes, and these little babies throw tantrums in their own way πŸ˜„ We will definitely try the Sloth experience next time !

Big thanks to our guide Abby, who made our sloth encounter with Olive a memorable one. Olive is so sweet and Abby shared plenty of sloth facts with us. We had the opportunity to hold and feed Olive and ask all our burning questions. We also had the opportunity to see a number of reptiles throughout the facility. The animals seem well taken care of (we love that they have a CAZA accreditation) and the facility was clean (but a review I saw complaining of smell may have been a visit timed around when a sloth did its business--which occurs once a week or less frequently from what I gathered). We went in the afternoon on a weekday and had VIP treatment with no other patrons at the zoo. We didn't feel rushed, there was a good variety of animals, and the staff were friendly. Altogether the sloth encounter and a look around the zoo can be done in about an hour.

My son has been very into reptiles lately so I brought him here after Googling the closest reptile zoo near me. Although it's in Hamilton and I'm not a fan of that city and it seems like it was built into the side of a building at the time as soon as we walked in we were greeted so nicely it was a great little reptile zoo we gave ourselves a bit of a tour and walked around looking at all the different reptiles and animals. They had amazing stuff that were very knowledgeable and educated and the one girl who is teaching during one of their showings really helps my son when he got a little scared of one of the animals! She was amazing and patient and caring and really helped him through his emotions and showed him a bunch of different other animals and cheered him up it was an amazing experience. We were there Monday Aug 21/2023 whoever she was thank her for me!!!!

It’s a great outing with a toddler or young children. They have presentations every 20min or so on weekends, with option to touch the animals (which my son really enjoyed). It’s enough to spend between 1H and half to 2 hours (maximum!) before getting bored and a bit claustrophobic (that was for me). The place was clean and you could really see the animals but I felt pretty bad about small enclosures for big animals such as their alligator and monitor. As well as a bored porcupine alone in his enclosure:/ On a separate note, right outside the door there’s a trailer with hot dogs and sausages. Delicious.

I wish I could have held them but I'm more than happy with my up close and personal experience. I think Olive really liked my big curly hair because she tried to reach out to it haha. Great facility and shows! Tarantula hi-fives were my 5 year olds favorite! I hope to visit some day again!

So awesome. My family of 5 did a tour and sloth encounter. So worth it. We all had an amazing time. So fun, great for grown up and kids. We got to meet a tortoise and snakes. The sloth was amazing once in a lifetime. Especially during covid we needed something to look forward to, and the staff at little rays were dedicated to our safety with cleaning practices, social distancing, masks and lots of hand washing. Will definitely be back!

Probably the best zoo experience of my life! The staff were amazing with my kids (ages 4 and 6) and even the adults were enamoured with the animals! Everyone had the best time! Highly recommend! We also signed up for the sloth experience and it was great. Very gentle creature!

This is a fantastic place. It looks small, but don’t let that stop you. The guides are top, with lots of knowledge, super friendly and honest. We had Browning ( I hope I am getting her name right ) and my kids were super engaged with her, as her love and passion transpired. With got to pet lost of animals including a super friendly and scary Tarantula. Don’t miss this place. The crocodiles will give you shivers.

This unassuming spot in a strip mall has much more than just reptiles. I've been wanting to take the kids here for a couple years and finally got around to it today. There are some pretty impressive creatures there. I think the main draw of this place is their intimate live shows. They're different every time and the next one starts 20 minutes after the end of the last one. My kids got to hold a tarantula and pet a caiman, an armadillo, and a skunk! Just make sure to wear layers. The place is pretty warm, even in the winter, due to the needs of the animals. My son keeps asking to go back and we were just there this morning!

This place was amazing! There were 4 of us on a private tour which was definatly worth it. The tour was about 2 hours in length, we had one of the staff accompany our group and go through the exhibits as we walked through the place. She was so good! She was very nice and approachable. We had many great conversations with her about the animals that the have housed and she knew so much about the animals in their care. We even got to meet and touch/hold some of their amazing creatures that they have! It is also amazing that they operate as a rescue as well and that's where the majority of their animals have come from. Overall I would highly recommend this place for anyone who has a love or interest in reptiles. Our 10 year old nephew said it was the best birthday experience ever!

Our tour guide was amazing, so knowledgeable and great with the kids. She has a unique name and very short dark hair. We all had a great time and learned so much. Thanks for all you do for the animals! Keep up the great work!

We took the private tour with sloth encounter for our daughter's 5th birthday. Ms B was an amazing guide! She was very informative about the animals and patient with our girls and all their questions. We loved meeting the animals, especially Olive the sloth who we got to pet and feed. Great experience!

This was our first visit to Little Rays, we booked a private tour. I went back and forth via email with Hope and Amanda, both answered my messages almost immediately. Bronwyn was our tour guide, she was absolutely incredible. She was knowledgeable and so unbelievably patient with our boys. She took the time to explain everything to our 5 year old (the birthday boy) in a way that was easy for him to understand & trusted him to hold many of the animals which made his day.

β€œAvoid this place for the safety and health of your kids”. It’s full of sick animals and the risk of TB infection is high in such condition. The admission fee is so high and the place is smelly and so boring. Don’t trust the positive reviews as many of them are fake.

Okay, so today I went at 4pm for a private tour. I think our guide was named Xander? Well, he was SO NICE. He was so careful as well. He noticed my My chemical romance shirt and complimented it (he’s considered a hero in my mind now). Lemurs and hedgehogs are my favourite animals, he let me pet the hedgehog and FEED the lemurs. He was so amazing, and I FOR SURE recommend this place. Wonderful for children. Very clean and CLEARLY takes care of their animals well. I’m definitely coming here again soon. Best day ever.

I come here all the time with my nephew, and we always have a great time and we can tell how much everyone there cares for the animals and today proved it even more. We found an abandoned snake and we called them and they were here in less than 10 minutes, and discussed what his name should be with us. Anyone who has something bad to say about this place is obviously someone who just likes to complain.

I took my 3 grandkids there. We all had a great time. 90 minute one on one with all the reptiles. Excellent presentation, well worth the cost

Amazing experience. We took our daughter and her cousins for her 4th birthday party. Kids ages 4-9. All the animals reptiles, snakes, crocodiles, sloths, chinchillas, ect were great! It was very fun and educational. Little Rays is a great animal rescue doing good work. Our tour guide Katie was exceptional. Patient with the young kids, very friendly, knowledgeable and made sure the kids were always comfortable with the animals. Highly recommended for animal lovers young and old. We will be back again. Thank you.
