There are apparently days when some who follow Buddhist faith restrict to vegetarian meals. And lucky for our guest, Tinh Tam Trai happened to be a vegetarian restaurant serving Asian noodle soups conveniently located right by Vaughan Mills. There's not many such places around which probably helps to explain their positive reviews. Best way I can characterize this place is QUIRKY! Located in a busy plaza, it's hard to miss their bright yellow signage. Upon entering, the first thing that I noticed was the decor, or the surprising lack thereof... still the place was quite packed at lunchtime. Staff was slow to offer us the highchair so we helped ourselves to it. Their affordable menu included a variety of dishes and drinks similar to other Vietnamese restaurants but with a vegetarian twist. The house-special Imitation Duck Egg Noodle Soup was topped with a heaping portion of soy-based mock meat w/ mushroom filling. Smooth herbal taste and soft egg noodles. Similarly Imitation Wonton Egg Noodle Soup hit the mark except the gluten fishcakes & side of fried soy wonton balls were a bit much to finish. Bun Hue Chay, their version of the hot & spicy Hue-style noodle soup, was well-seasoned too. We also tried sticky rice filled with mung beans which tasted like salty mochi balls. Fine for vegetarian, but if you're a carnivore, it's quite a glutton for punishment. How we missed savoury meat after just one meal! Back to the quirkiness: a bit strange that the owner initially claimed there was no sticky rice on the menu when serving our noodles. He later prepared it after reviewing our order, by which time we were nearly full. More weird was at checkout I paid with a $100 bill, and was given change including the same bill which I informed the inattentive cashier.

Loved this little no-nonsense spot in Vaughan! A great place to go after a day at Wonderland. The food was so delicious and the menu is so large, you could go back dozens of times and try a new dish each time! I recommend the S1 (beef noodle soup) and the A01 (crispy fried chicken with sticky rice). The A01 was incredibly unique and so delicious! The portions of everything are genuinely huge as well. The only thing is that the S1 came with a much thicker noodle, despite the menu stating vermicelli. I mention this for those who have their hearts set on vermicelli, but I personally didn’t mind at all. All in all, will definitely be returning!

Vegetarian Vietnamese food with imitation meats for every type of meat available out there. While the food itself was yum, having most of the ingredients (such as the imitation meats) available for purchase is very useful. The menu is extensive (though some items were unavailable). Soups are large, so be prepared to share if not take away. Good stuff!

🥗 VEGETARIAN BANH MI 🥗 Please don't ever 𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗛 𝗠𝗜 from coming to @tinhtamtrai_official ! Time to 𝗣Â𝗧É if you haven't had a banh mi since becoming vegetarian because this is your new favorite place 🥳 Going vegetarian is definitely not a 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗞!⠀ -[𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗛 𝗠𝗜 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗣 𝗖𝗔𝗠 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗬 𝗗𝗔𝗖 𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗧] $𝟱.𝟱𝟬 🥪 This is their 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 sandwich! 🥗 Look at that banh mi filling though 👀 🥪 For real, this 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗵 𝗺𝗶 despite the fact that all of the ingredients are imitation meats 🤭 -[𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗛 𝗠𝗜 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗣 𝗖𝗔𝗠 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗬] $𝟰.𝟱𝟬 🥪 This is their 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 sandwich (which has less toppings than the previous sandwich but is still delicious) 🥗 Not entirely sure what is in this sandwich but 𝘁𝗼𝗳𝘂 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘁 🥳 🥪 Also, very tasty if you're looking for a banh me with slightly less toppings (𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼!) This place was originally one that a coworker recommended to me!  She let me try a section of her banh mi and holy moly, I could never go back to a regular meat-filled banh mi because there is no need 🤩 They make the banh mi right in front of you so if you're like me, and cilantro tastes like soap, be sure to ask them to omit it 🥲 Also, you have the option to 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗵 𝗺𝗶 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘆 now as they will add 🌶 for you to achieve that ✨ They have a lot more than just banh mi but this is all I have tried so far 😂 Rest assured though, you will not find any meat here!

Various options for vegetarian meals. Customer service was good, however took long time waiting for the foods arrived. “Bun rieu chay” was great but the portion is kind of small with the high price, the noodle and vegies, meats were not much, because of the big bowl and a lot of soup made it look like huge. “Tien Vua salad” was ok, nothing special. I liked the “Hu tieu xao thap cam”, which I would be coming back for this again.

Great spot for some vegan/vegetarian pho or bun Bo hue. I’m a big meat lover but honestly loved the broth and imitation meats/tofu and couldn’t tell a huge difference. Also definitely recommend getting their imitation tuna banh mi sandwich.Service was slightly slow to come check on our table, but besides that staff was very polite and got our food out in a timely manner.

Wow! Happy 😃 Pleasantly surprised. All food is vegan! And it is actually pretty tasty. (I don’t eat meat 🥩) Mine was the imitation assorted meat, wanted to try. Well it is definitely not beyond meat in quality. You can tell that it is soy. Shrimp 🍤 was fun, pretty realistic. I would give my meal 4 stars. But the one that my wife has ordered (Bun Cha) was actually very decent. Sauce is good. And the roll was delicious. I will be back for more Bun Cha when we visit Vaughn Mills. Both meals + coke + 20% tips = 40$ As you can tell from the picture, wifey was very happy 😊 What else can you wish for :) The owner is kind and attentive. Doesn’t speak English well, but really works hard to accommodate everyone’s needs. She forgot one drink on our order but we didn’t care. We were full and it was super busy. Kudos to her to serving everyone and running this place like a boss 👍 Family like feeling worth a lot. Take care and see you soon again! 💜

Great service. Food was good. Was a little confused by some menu items that didn't seem vegetarian, but the waiter confirmed that everything was vegetarian. Great! We also got complementary cookies at the end.

Amazing vegan/vegetarian food at a decent price! They have the best fried rice I've ever had (salted fish fried rice). It was well-seasoned, fluffy, and crispy, with a good amount of vegetables. Their pho chay is outstanding as well! I eat here weekly for lunch or dinner and there's something new to try each time. Can't wait to go back!

My boyfriend and I went here after my graduation. It was very delicious and there were a wide variety of options. Most vegetarian restaurants don't have so many "meat" options, such as vegetarian lobster, chicken, beef, ham, etc. We spoke to the owner who is extremely kind and is very passionate about vegetarianism, which made me happy! Great, ethical food, kind people, what's not to like?

Nice little vegan Asian spot tucked in the plaza near Vaughan Mills. Originally I gave this three stars for hit or miss food, but ordered some years later and my opinion has changed. Some great tasting imitation meats and a variety of interesting dishes.

One of the best vegetarian foods restaurant in Vaughan. Myself like “ Bún Bò Huế “ every time I come here. They are deserving for the 5 stars. You should try it out if you want veggies foods then make a judgement yourself please.

I really want to give 4.5 stars but having to pick out many black burnt bits from this dish really made it super hard for me to enjoy the food. Hope that the restaurant owner will see this post so his/her chef will wash the cooking utensils between dishes. This is one way to retain your customers that are looking for healthy and tasty food. Wish this restaurant best of luck!!

We haven't been out to a restaurant since this whole pandemic started and we are so glad to have stumbled upon this little ge. This mom and pops shop can really get lost in an area where there are so many dining options but it really stands out. The food is absolutely amazing even coming from a hardcore meat eater like myself. The owners are friendly, courteous and took great precautions to ensure everyone's safety. I highly recommend this place.

This isn't just one of the best vegetarian Vietnamese restaurants in the GTA... It's one of the best Vietnamese restaurants, period. Great flavours, great care, great service! The prices rose a bit recently, but still well worth what's being served. I'm not a vegetarian at all, but I've been here quite a few times! Don't miss the hot pot! Try the Thai soup base! Canh Chua and Bun Bo Hue also!

The banh mis here are amazing, the bread is so crunchy and light, their vegetarian proteins are perfect and crisp- I love the shredded pork bbq banh mi. I personally don’t miss the meat when eating here. The service is so warm and polite, it’s the epitome of a mom and pop shop. I often get banh mi and a big bowl of their soup to share!

Came here on a whim after shopping at Vaughan Mills, and was not disappointed! Food is very fresh, tasty, prices are decent and the portions are nice. Place is vegetarian-friendly! Highly recommend you come here instead of settling for generic mall food in a crowded food court, it's only a 4 min drive.

We've been coming here for a few years and love it every time! The mock meats are my absolute favourite, my partner lives for the pho and the service is always good. The owner is always friendly and helps us out with what we want. Best vegan Vietnamese food!

Trascendental. After a long day at Wonderland, I stumbled upon this hidden gem in Vaughan. Where do I start? I like vegetarian restaurants but couldn’t fathom how pho could be recreated with no meat. But to say I’ve changed my mind is an understatement to how delicious everything was. Starting with the Bahn Mi, they were fresh, crunchy and tasted better than their meat counter parts. The pho was just on another level. The broth was an experience in itself, but the textures (including bamboo, carrot and tofu) added to replace the beef actually made it so much better. I think this pho has become my new favourite. On top of all this, the service was outstanding. the restaurant was clean and vibrant and we felt right at home. 10/10 *chef kiss emoji* Hope to come back soon.

Such a gem of a spot! The mock pork Bahn Mi blew me away, but truthfully, everything was delicious. The food doesn't pretend too hard to be meat, which is fine by me. Everything was tasty in its own right. Prices are extremely reasonable, and service was good enough considering this is a humble mom&pop shop.

My favorite place for vegetarian food! The noodle soup dishes are my comfort food. Then I get a sandwich to go! Remember the number of the dish you like. The descriptions sound very familiar on the menu.
