I woke up thinking about my sweet Mimi and realized I never wrote a review about my experience at the clinic last year. I will never, ever forget the kindness and empathy shown to me and my partner by the staff at this clinic when my dog was in distress and living the last couple days of her life. They treated her with the best possible care, were so understanding to the pain we were experiencing, and made sure that we were able to send her off with dignity. Veterinary staff are so valuable and under appreciated but they care for precious members of our families during their worst moments and should not be overlooked, especially throughout the last couple of years. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

Came in on the 22nd of Feb 2022. My cat had chew his tail, so I wanted to fined out if it was fleas or mange this time. Would have gone to my regular vet, but they changed there time and it hard to book a fast appointment due to covid. Arrived at the so called hospital at 7:15pm. Cat checked in all smiles at this point. At 9:30pm called to see what's up. Told cat has not even been seen yet. Asked for cat back as at this point I'm not a happy camper to say the least. At 9:52pm cat finally back in my hands. To say I'm fuming at this point is an understatement. They kept my poor cat locked in its carrier for almost 4 hours. The poor thing peed in it. I'm so upset with the outer lack of care and compassion that my animal was kept in its own pee, in a box for almost 4 hours just makes me sick and loose faith in vets all together. Do not bring your animal here unless it's dieing. Better of web mding untell a trusted vet is available. If they dare to send a bill I will take em to court and make dang sure the humane society has a good spot check on these monsters.

I brought 2 of my cats there for emergency situations and they always took good care of them. They called me regularly and make me feel at ease. The doctors are very knowledgeable and professional. They can be costly but I have insurance and it all worked up at the end.

I have a 3 year old French bulldog named Lola who had gotten scared and jumped off the bed only to become paralyzed in her hind legs and neck. We rushed her to this hospital because a friend of mine works here and recommended it. Lola was seen the next day by a neurologist, Dr.Little who had informed my family that Lola had a huge cyst on her neck which was compressing her spinal cord. That same day Dr.Little performed the surgery to remove the mass. I am crying as I am writing this because the compassion that the staff showed not only my furbaby but others who came in and left as we waited was immeasurable. They put me and my family at easy about leaving her in their care for multiple days (they gave us daily updates on her recovery) and they helped through the fear we had of her diagnosis. I will forever be grateful to Dr.Little and her entire team for helping my little one.

Cannot say enough good things about Dr. Little in neurology. She listens, is sympathetic and more importantly excels at her work. She was able to diagnose our dog Maggie and provide excellent treatment options. Maggie was days away from not surviving and thanks to Dr. Little and her team, she continues to have excellent quality of life and her disease is stable. It’s been 10 months now and Maggie is still with us and we are enjoying every day. Thanks to Dr. Little and the neurology team! Photos show Maggie when she was in the ICU (bottom right) and others since her diagnosis and ongoing treatment.

I want to thank all staffs in ICU for your best care. My lovely friend Coco was diagnosed with an awful infection and she was fighting hard. Coco was getting best care from your staff and we are very thankful for that. It was very tough time for us but everyone was supportive. Everyday we got very clear update from doctors and staffs sent us pictures of Coco. I am so thankful for Dr Crandell who provided best care to Coco but also for us as well. When we had to put down Coco, it was first time for us but she was there to help and support us. Thank you for giving us more time with Coco.

Dr Lovell and the whole team were really compassionate, nurturing and kind to both my dog and myself. I feel really good about the level of care he received for his slipped disc surgery and the following checkup and staple removal. He went from being lethargic and crying at any movement to wagging his tail and being energetic and happy under their care and I’m incredibly grateful. The surgery ended up costing at the low end of the estimate which was also a relief financially. They were there for us when we needed them and I can’t speak highly enough about the entire team.

This is the worst animal hospital ever!! We brought our cat there BC she was in distress ... The emergency vet said to us that she had a heart condition and that her chances of survival are 6 months to over a year ... We decided to pay the 6100 vet bill based that she had a bit of time to live... She was released on Tuesday and was put down four days later ... 6100 for a few days is alot of money! This hospital gave us false hope ... All they want is your money ... They don't care about anything but dollar signs .... They gave us so much stress ... Some staff members were rude and not compassionate at all! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

Two weekends ago, our golden retriever had to be hospitalized here. We did not expect to find out he had a chest full of cancer, and he sadly had to be euthanized. The veterinarian who was working with him, Dr. Irene Berkov was extremely attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and took a lot of time to explain things to my mom and I. Even though this was not the outcome we were hoping for, they made the experience tolerable. The whole team was professional, and I appreciate them for making room for us.

First of all I want to say thank you to the two gentlemen who I talked to outside of the hospital when I arrived to pick up my pet after surgery. You set my mind at ease that bringing “Phil” to Toronto Animal Health Partners was the right choice. Even during your intense grief you were able to speak highly of the Doctor’s and services provided at this centre. Again I offer my condolences to you both during your time of need. Phil received top notch care and services. His time at Toronto Animal Health Partners was difficult for us since we live many hours out of town. But the updates and information made us feel we were extremely well informed and know that his care was paramount to his long term health. All questions were answered honestly and timely. I can’t say enough good things about our encounter with the centre. Thank you for the help you provided to Phil. Phil update: Phil has completely healed from his surgery and is back to being his old self. He didn’t enjoy the cone and removed it frequently causing a setback and requiring another round of antibiotics, much to his dismay but he got his clean bill of health the other week. Phil is now enjoying his first Christmas with us and the excitement of having his own tree to play in. Thank you TAHP.

I highly recommend this hospital. 1.5 years ago my female Coton De Tulear went from healthy and walking to being paralyzed in the hind end in a matter of 3 hours, all without any obvious signs of trauma. I rushed her to an emergency clinic and she was quickly diagnosed with IVDD (herniated disk) and was referred to Toronto Animal Health Partners. By the time we reached the hospital she had no deep pain sensation and thus the prognosis of retaining mobility was only 25%. Following an MRI to confirm the diagnosis Dr. Kilburn operated. Immediately following the surgery, Dr. Kilburn telephoned me to provide an update. He was kind, compassionate, and patient in helping me understand the surgery and prognosis. In the end, my girl regained full mobility as a result of the surgical expertise of Dr. Kilburn and the high-tech equipment used to both diagnose and guide the surgery. During her post-op care, the staff kept me apprised of her health status and progress every step of the way. (Keep in mind that this was during Covid and hence no face-to-face communication was allowed). I later learned that the Coton De Tulear is another breed prone to IVDD and I knew there was the possibility for further herniated disk ruptures. This morning it happened again. From previous experience, I knew the signs and symptoms and immediately called the hospital. I was given an appointment at 12:00 pm, with Dr. Marchal (neurosurgeon), she had an MRI by mid-afternoon whereupon she was diagnosed with a herniated disk this time in her neck and was in surgery by 6:00 pm. At 8:00 pm I received a call from Dr. Marchal who reported the surgery was successful and my girl is expected to fully recover. I am so incredibly thankful to Dr. Marchal and the entire Neurology Team at Animal Health Partners. What incredible work they do. I highly recommend them however, for this level of expertise and services one needs to be prepared for the price tag that accompanies it.

I would like to thank all the staff for their compassion and care they gave our little Beagle, Nutmeg this week. I was so pleased Nutmeg was immediately assessed as soon as we walked in. Dr Emily Rockfort was excellent at communicating and discussing all test results as the day progressed. Everything was handle quickly, efficiently and always in the best interest of Nutmeg. We were lucky that we had such a wonderful dedicated team of professionals looking after our sweet little soul. Nutmeg’s family will be forever thankful for the care she received at the Toronto Animal Health Partners Emergency and Specialty Hospital. Thank you for all your support on a very difficult day for the Yates family.

The quality of empathy & expertise in caring for our geriatric cat Ninja, was unsurpassed. While Ninja was hospitalized for 5 days, we received update calls twice per day, the front staff and nurses were so kind and helpful and Dr. Ian Penkala took the time to explain everything to us and answered our questions as best as he could. We were made to feel like their only patient. All the staff and doctors we met with were wonderful and thorough. Despite Ninja’s grave condition, we are happy to report that he is thriving and enjoying his senior days to the fullest for now ;)

Our 2 year old golden retriever spent 10 long days in the ICU from aspiration pneumonia, and we are eternally grateful for the expertise and compassion we received from Animal Health Partners. This was an emergency referral situation- we arrived from Barrie in a panic and were promptly taken care of. Staff were compassionate and professional, and we knew our dog was in the best hands. You can tell the staff treat their patients like their own pets. We were updated regularly on Louie’s condition, and given honest opinions of his prognosis. We knew he was being well taken care of and he fought hard to pull through. Dr. Brown and Dr. Crandall found out what was wrong with him and he was promptly scheduled for surgery with Dr. Biskup. The ICU staff kept Louie comfortable and gave us updates every morning. Thank you ALL for caring so well for Louie, we are so grateful to have him in our lives because of you!

We'll be forever grateful to the staff at Toronto Animal Health Partners, especially to JP who took care of us on the day of our cat's euthanasia. Our sweet little RĂ©mi had to be rushed to the ER and admitted to the ICU in the middle of the night. It was a traumatic experience as it happened while we were out of town and had to coordinate through his cat sitter, and the usual hospital we bring him to (where he already had a file) was full and refused to admit him. They took him in and did their best for him, but in the end, we had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye. We had to rush back home the next day and it was a long and painful 8 hour drive. I was afraid we wouldn't make it in time to see him. The staff was so kind and kept us updated through text and calls, and they made it so easy to speak to a nurse when we had additional questions. When we got to see RĂ©mi at 11PM, he looked as comfortable as he could be and was just so happy to see us. On the day of his euthanasia, we were so sad but found comfort in knowing he was well cared for by the staff at the hospital. We learned later that they hand feed all the kitties in the ICU, and they wrapped him in his favourite blanket as we had requested. Special thank you to JP whose kindness and thoughtfulness I will truly never forget. She/they walked us through our options for euthanasia, and even offered to prepare clippings of RĂ©mi's fur tied in ribbon. It was so respectful and loving that the thought still overwhelms me with gratitude. I wish RĂ©mi was still with us, but in all scenarios where we had to lose him, this was truly the best way it could have happened. Thank you TAHP for gifting us this time with him, and allowing us to say goodbye in such a beautiful, dignified way. We'll always be grateful.

I just want to say thank you to the wonderful team at Animal Health Partners. A few days before NYE I had to bring my Loki as he unexpectedly experienced seizures. As anyone can imagine, I was worried sick about my baby and crying/freaking out. The team was very understanding and kind throughout the entire thing. After stabilizing Loki, they brought him out to see me with smiles on their faces. During his overnight stay, the night shift nurse Abigail was so kind to give me updates and send me pictures of my boy. She also gave him a wonderful lion’s cut. Dr. Lovell was extremely kind and when she gave me the call to give me the results of Loki’s neurological exam, she started by saying “First of all, Loki is so cute” Dr. Lovell and her team recommended I do an MRI, but given that Loki’s bloodwork and neurological exam was all well, she did not pressure me to pursue this diagnostic immediately as it was expensive. I just want to say thank you for the wonderful care that Loki received and for all the kindness that you have shown throughout one of the most stressful times for me.

I am so thankful to the staff at Animal Health Partners, we were referred to this hospital from another emergency clinic. Our 2 year old Nova was suspected of having IVDD and was paralyzed from the neck down. Our family was a complete mess and everyone at the hospital was so caring and attentive to our Nova. She needed an emergency surgery and within a few hours she was having surgery done and so grateful she was put as a priority. We were told that our dog would be back to somewhat of a normal life in a few weeks. I honestly thought my dog would not survive this or end up never walking again from the state we brought her in. Within 3 days she was walking at the hospital and for that I am truly grateful to Dr. Stephanie Lovell and her staff. We went in for her follow up appointment 2 weeks later and had a great experience. We came from over an hour away and would definitely come back if anything happened to our beloved Frenchie!

I have used the services of Toronto Animal Health Partners 4 times, and each time was a calm and positive experience for my pet and me. Last week, they helped me with sending my beloved pet over the Rainbow Bridge. They are so caring and helpful. I regret not noting the name of the staff who were part of this visit, but thank you for being so kind.

We had an exceptional experience at Animal Health Partners. Dr. Lovell's meticulous care and dedication during our visits were truly commendable. She explained the procedure she would perform on our dog who had a slipped disc with detail, all while making us feel comfortable and less worried during a difficult time. The post-op exams were thorough, and her expertise was evident. The neurology team and the entire staff were also amazing. Despite not being the closest emergency vet, the drive was well worth it for the care that was provided. We are very thankful to all those who cared for our dog while he was in hospital. Highly recommend this hospital for top-notch pet care.

Just wanted to thank all the staff at Animal Health Partners both at the Toronto location and the newer Lakeshore Road location. Tilly has had a rough time over the last few years with Spinal issues as well as a fractured leg. she is on the mend now thanks to Animal Health Partners and Dr. Steph Lovell. there were other doctors and staff tending to here during this time, but I unfortunately do not remember all their names, or I would name them all. Everyone was very accommodating to us and patient with all our many questions. And thankfully Tilly is doing really well for the first time in some time.

I can’t say enough good things about this animal hospital! All of the staff and doctors are so kind and caring. They helped our little girl Maggie twice within a short span of time. The vets are very knowledgeable and take the time to answer questions… you can tell they care! Britney, the amazing triage nurse is absolutely the BEST. She is so empathetic, compassionate and so sweet to every animal that comes in including our Maggie. She is so fantastic! Pricing at this emergency clinic are very reasonable. Very highly recommended and you can trust your pet is in the best hands!

Brought our cat joker in as a transfer from another vet clinic.all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were very stressed trying to figure out how to pay for his urinary blockage treatment and Tessa at the front Desk was the sweetest. She reminded us to breathe and take our time and look after ourselves and did everything she could to try and help us out. The doctors worked hard on flushing his system and were so relieved to say he is home and healthy. We were terrified it would result in putting him down. The doctors also called frequently with updates for us. Thank-you so much to Tessa, and any other staff who worked on our case. We are forever grateful!

This hospital saved our golden doodle Luna's life after our veterinarian charged us over $900 to do nothing. Drove down here on a Friday afternoon from an hour north of the city and checked her in. She was projectile vomiting with bloody stool. They ran some tests and diagnosed her with Hemmorhagic gastroenteritis. Put her on an IV with fluids, gave her some pain medication, anti nausea meds, antibiotics and monitored her round the clock from Friday afternoon and voila, she was 100% recovered by Sunday morning. I highly recommend this hospital if your dog is critically ill. A huge thank you to Dr. Siu, front desk staff Gina and everyone else that cared for Luna. I can't tell you how grateful we are for saving our beloved pets life. They care about the animals and they show it. They're also very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

**I want to comment specifically on the Mississauga location ** I was so impressed by the care provided by all the staff - from Kelly at the front desk who fit me in, to the vet tech and Dr Smith, who was lovely and explained everything in great detail! They saw my dog quickly and realized at once that they were dealing with a very handsome boy. Everyone was friendly and helpful! Even the fees which I was prepared for a shock, weren’t as bad as I expected. This might have been the best vet care I have experienced in my many years with many pets. Well done!!!

I unfortunately had to take my dog here over the weekend for emergency care. The wait certainly was long however worth the care me and my dog got. Staff were friendly and helpful, offering water and coffee to the stressed pet parents in reception. They were always apologizing for the long wait even though I could tell they were very busy with big emergencies. When I spoke with Dr Walsh about my dog, she asked many questions and really tried to help us find the route of the problem. After my dog went home, we were still having problems but they were happy to take my many phone calls and advise me on what was going to help even though it was overnight. The medication he was given seems to be helping and we are hoping for a full recovery thanks to Toronto Animal Health Partners. And the price was not to bad for an emergency vet!
