Lack of communication and psw's are over worked my interaction with the staff is great over all however in order to deposit funds for my mom I had to go through Andrea on the 3rd floor she is the person in charge of human resources payroll and financing. I hear the way she speaks to the other staff, never in my life have I dealt with such an unprofessional, miserable, and disrespectful human who works in healthcare. She will go out of her way to be rude to you its concerning that this is the person the seniors have to interact with in order to access their funds. Hire someone more compassionate with decent communication skills please.

The activity staff members seem like they are there not because they love there job but because they just wanna get the paycheck and leave. The activity manager is not helpful at all. I was an intern and noone helped to or showed me how to do documentation or do programming. The worst place for students and residents

Mom lived here for over 4 years. She was cared for with loving hands and open hearts. The Nursing Staff, the PSW's and the Recreation Staff were all on the same page - quality of life. The facility's balconies and courtyard were an oasis. While Mom "raged against the dying of the light" the staff understood her frustration and did their utmost to help her in any way they could. Thank you West Park.

Beautiful grounds, really nice up to date facility and friendly staff. Road access is not straight forward. Expensive paid parking.

Our Mom was a resident at West Park for the last 4 years. It was quite an adjustment for Mom initially. Staff recommended Mom use a wheelchair instead of her walker in order to prevent a fall. Mobility issues aside, the quality of Mom's life during this time improved. Her level of care in terms of attention to treating the extreme dry skin condition of her legs (the previous LTC centre did not address this problem), keeping her safe (the previous LTC placement did not take Mom's personal safety seriously), and the overall staff commitment making West Park truly feel like home, made all the difference. When we received a phone call on November 6th from Nadia, the Nurse Practitioner, it was one family had been expecting. We were advised to visit Mom that day. I explained that we were planning to come by at noon to help with Mom's feeding. Nadia expressed the opinion we should come as soon as possible. After our visit family decided to have Mom receive palliative care at West Park rather than in hospital. It was the right choice. The nursing staff on the 2nd floor, Weston wing, gave Mom their utmost attention. Family took shifts during that week in order to be with Mom in her room. On Friday, November 11th, the nurse phoned to let us know Mom had passed in the early morning surrounded by staff. Remembrance Day will always hold a special meaning in our hearts, as will the staff at West Park.

The recreation program staff and the program manager have been such a life saver for our family and my mom who lives there. they are kind and work hard to make sure she is being cared for. when i come on the floor it makes me feel so good to see her working with them doing something active for her body and her mind. it really makes me feel less guilty about having her there. they have really helped me as well learn how to have a better relationship with her and learn what resources i have as well to help me with this new lifestyle for her an d me.

This place is so dirty it needs to be updated/renovated or at the very least re- paint the walls. House keeping needs to clean more often the floors are sticky and the place is constantly smelly.

My mother has been at the West Park Long Term Care Centre for the past 5 1/2 years. I wish to commend management at the facility for the extraordinary work they have done since the onset of the COVID pandemic to ensure the health and safety of the residents. Although the facility was initially hit hard by the pandemic, on-site management worked tirelessly and diligently to curb and eliminate the spread of the virus. Moreover, on-site management is now successfully changing the culture and environment of the facility. It is now a teaching centre attracting high calibre students who benefit from the expertise and experience of existing staff. A number of new staff have been recently hired, mainly PSWs, who are impressive not only in their level of competence but also in the approach and attitude they bring to the facility. They demonstrate kindness, caring and respect towards the residents at all times. They have expressed to me how much they love their work and how privileged they feel to be in a position of helping those more vulnerable than themselves. Finally, I also wish to recognize the dedication, commitment and the hard work of the long serving staff each and every day and especially during the very difficult months of the previous waves of the pandemic. I am grateful to the on-site management team as well as to the current team of excellent doctors, nurses, PSWs, recreational staff, dietary and food services staff, cleaning and administrative staff. This hard working and caring team takes wonderful care of my mother each and every day. Rachele, December, 2021

Excellent care from kind and dedicated staff and management. They are always focused on the heath and welfare of our Mom. Plenty of group and individual social programs. Regular communication with our family on Mom’s status. Very happy with our choice of Westpark.
