Food is awesome and friendly staffs in the restaurant. In a quiet corner of Toulouse, you will be amazed how crowded this place can get!

Simple restaurant with a very friendly waiter. Scores highly on the price/performance scale. 19 Euro (at time of writing) for a three course meal. Can't argue with that. The food overall was very nice if a little rough around the edges (only let down was the steak, which was as tough as leather). Almost a home made feel, which is no bad thing. The Flan Normand with garlic cream sauce was delicious!

I realized there is a backpackers recommendation restaurants like Michigan. This place is one of the chosen by backpacking travelers. Although the food was good and on point. They call it French but do not expect a fancy French technic cooking. This place is where you wanna feel local and enjoying home cook, mom cook, auntie cook, gramma cooking style of French. I’m not French or European but that’s what I have felt. €21 for a three-course meal is a really good deal but if you have a desert place in mind or not a sweet tooth you should get the entrée and plate 2 course. Wine is also very cheap for a glass. Staffs are very friendly and kind it really feels like your at your cousins house. If you have a kind one lol

Fantastic! The food was delicious: we ordered magret Le May and Daube de bœuf, taking the formula. The garnish was incredible, and the Tarte Tatin was the cherry on top. The ambiance was really familiar and the serveurs were very nice. We will come back!

Atmosphere is very cosy and it is located in a small cute street in the heart of the city. Good value for money and the staff was very helpful to seat us without any prior reservation.

We booked a table as it was busy the night before. Staff was very friendly and helpful with our little French. We got first drinks (4) for free. Food was good. Delicious. Home cooked. We had duck ,beef steak and some starters. Wine was good. Good value for money.

Cozy and very traditional looking place. The food served is excellent french cuisine, for a very good price. Le May is proof that you don't need to break the bank to enjoy good French cuisine. The staff are also very friendly and speak English.

We end lucky to share a table with someone as the place was packed with locals. This is very reasonably priced but food was ok nothing over the top.

We ordered two of the three chef’s choices: the beef stew and the pork chop. We couldn’t have done better. So yummy!

Visited Le May with a friend with the intent of having the three-dish formule then ended up only having the entrée and a main plate because the portions were very rich! Entrée: Des oeufs cocotte du May avec roquefort. This was VERY good. Plat: Une bavette grillée sauce échalote. While I really enjoyed the bavette, the siders did not live up to my expectations. Besides the food, the price was really reasonable, the staff were nice (this was the first restaurant in Toulouse that has ever offered us a menu in English), and the place was truly authentic. Le May is truly a hidden gem.

The marinated anchovies were great. Duck comfit was good. The steak with cheese sauce were also good. Mont blanc with chestnut was good but the sauce is too sweet. The service was good. In general the restaurant is good but offered great value.

There's a reason why you need to make a reservation. Prob one of the cheaper, high quality French restaurant. My bf and I had the 11 euro three main course lunch set and it was delicious. We really enjoyed our lunch. The wine was tasty too and cheap ( as compared to UK)

Great bistro, very popular, and inexpensive. Service is super fast and very friendly. Popular with locals and visitors. Definitely go, and tell your friends!

Food was not amazing unfortunately. I ordered chicken cooked in coconut milk and spices. The meat was dry, overcooked, and bland. Not in the sense that it had a ‘delicate’ sophisticated taste. It was just plain tasting and mediocre. The prices were great though, as was the atmosphere and service.

For me the food is most important and we didn’t enjoy it much. I don’t want to say too much incase it’s just our taste, but the bavette steak was very very tough - hard to cut and hard to chew. Asked for medium and we got rare. My fish main was nice enough but super plain. Some of the sides tasted like they were old and just heated up, and I heard a microwave from the kitchen, so probably true. This place was recommended to me and although it might be great for the next person, it did let us down!

The price was very reasonable and cheap. However, the personnel was debatable, they weren’t attentive and kind. The food is questionable, it wasn’t as good as we expected. We order some pork ribs and it was hard as a rock.

I had dinner here while on a business trip (a small group of us - some English, some German, and some local) on a colleague's recommendation. I was definitely not disappointed. Tucked away in a quiet street, the restaurant itself is also peaceful enough to enjoy a delicious meal and a good conversation. Not only was the food absolutely superb, and at a very reasonable price for 3 courses with wine, but the service was also excellent - friendly, welcoming, relaxed and unhurried. With a lovely simple menu of good food excellently prepared, I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Toulouse, in the hope that I'll be able to make a return visit.

It's 35°C outside and it's kinda warm inside the restaurant because no air conditioning. Otherwise it could be perfect. Food is good and service is great.

Fantastic experience here at Le May. Food is absolutely top quality and remarkably affordable. The four of us ate an entree and a main each with a bottle of wine and a beer for just under 45 euros. Great place and will definitely return again.

This restaurant is perfect. The atmosphere is very cozy and intimate. The service is very freidnly (even to tourists) and it was full of happy locals on a Friday night. The food was fantastic. I can still taste the chicken/hare stew I had. And for a very affordable price.
