I was here a long time ago. A man was chased by an angry bird on the grass roof here a long time ago. I met the queen of Denmark here, and walked in her footsteps, and watched her drink from the horn of a beast, a long time ago. From the city yonder there came the tunes of Elton John, a long time ago. These are not things that i can guarantee will happen to everyone, but still, why not visit the hotel, and see what will happen to you. On a foggy day, the hotel is suspended in nothingness, if you for a moment suspend your disbelief.

Breathtaking views and a great location just above the city. Our room was cozy and spacious and the spa was an AMAZING way to end our hiking trip in the Faroe Islands. They had a great complementary breakfast and the food and drinks in their bar were spot on. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. If we return to the islands, we will definitely end our trip here again.

Right up front, don't stay here if they have a large event going on at the same time, period. Or, at least stay in the Annex. I read this comment about the hotel before my stay, and I should have listened. With a wedding party being held over one of the nights of our stay, we had the pleasure of dealing with drunk teenagers treating the hallway outside of our room like it was a gymnasium. They were yelling and tackling each other in the hallway well past 2:00 am. I went out to tell them to keep it down, which only ended up with them banging on our door there on out every time they went to their room. I brought up everything with the front desk the next morning, but it didn't go beyond being told that their reservation doesn't go into another night. I doubt anything was even said to the wedding party. I was one room, where the wedding party took up multiple reservations, so I doubt my troubles were a big concern when their main paycheck came from the big party. I definitely did not feel taken care of in the moment, and doubt I would stay here again. Lesson is, listen to the comments you read.

I decided to stay at this hotel because it is advertised as a high quality hotel. Well, the price is not cheap at all As a result, the service is terrible, they talk on the phone disgustingly, the client is nothing to them. The service is bad. You can’t order breakfast in your room - how is that?)) In general, I don’t recommend anyone to stay at this hotel!

Absolutely outstanding menu. There were two set menu choices, and they were happy to accommodate a vegan option where necessary for our party which was equally delicious. Wonderful service with attentive staff who couldn’t have been more helpful. A really pleasant meal and a great reflection of the hotel. Would absolutely come again, it’s a must in the Faroes!! (Make sure you book - it’s popular!)

Lived up to expectations. High level, big space in rooms, clean and well-organized. Bonus is their shampoo, hand soap and body wash, which smells amazing. Good breakfast, but I would add some options.

4.5 stars actually. This hotel is one of the best ones I've been to so far. The room was super cozy, very nice bed and direct access to the "backyard" of the hotel. I had originally booked a room in the "adjacent" building they have (not the main building) but they upgraded me to a room in the main building. Very nice breakfast with wonderful views to the city. 24/7 gym, beauty center with Spas, massages, treatments, etc... Pretty "big deal" of a hotel too, since they have murals with all the celebrities that have stayed there (Bands, musicians, soccer players, Royalty, Politicians, etc...). Since its location is at the top of the city, apart from the views, you have access to mountain routes all around. Overall, a very nice hotel that justifies its price.

My wife and I were treated very kindly by the staff. They upgraded our room for free (without even knowing we were going to be married in a few days). Once I told them we were marrying, Pat (hopefully I'm spelling that right) had champaign and chocolate, and congratulations sent to our room upon our return from our ceremony. She also helped us with pictures and lent us umbrellas because of the rain. All the other staff members treated us warmly as well. They helped with recommendations, maps of the area, etc. The view here is amazing, you could take great photos right from your window, or while just walking around the property. We liked the breakfast, and the restaurant. The price was good too! Highly recommended.

3 nights at the end of our trip. We paid for a larger room, with sea view. It had the view but also of the building site (Sept 2023 - building the swimming pool). We asked at reception for a different room and they were very kind in showing us another option with a view without the building site, but the room wasn't as good, so we stayed where we were. But good service. The breakfast was amazing, so much choice including for veggie and vegan. Eating in Ruts restaurant was a highlight. We both had the 4 course vegan. We also made use of the free self service washing and tumble dryer facilities for our wet hiking gear. Room was large, warm and very clean. Also 20-30 mins walk to city centre. Highly recommend

One of the biggest and nicest hotels in the city. Unfortunately far from the city center but the rooms are really comfortable.

Most aspects are excellent after all, nothing is perfect. It's a great building in and out. The breakfast buffet is outstanding.

The hotel is well located above Torshavn with a great view over the town. The reception is friendly and helpful as one would expect. There is a convenient foot path to the city which is only 20min walk away - however, after a good meal, walking back uphill is a bit of a stretch :) Fortunately there’s a (free) bus going most of the way too. The rooms were clean but poorly ventilated. Even with a window open our clothes didn’t dry well after a day of hiking.

Beautiful hotel with great views of the city and east access. The staff have been very helpful with arranging taxi’s or questions on visiting locations. I highly recommend them.

Ress spa; prepare to feel relaxed! I did not stay at this hotel, but I was there for a spa treatment, and my first ever at that. Let me just say that it will definitely not be the last! 🤩 Their facilities are top notch, with a regular sauna, an infrared sauna, and a steam sauna. In the latter, you can get a clay called "rasul", for which to exfoliate with. My treatment, "Sálarró" (relaxing full body massage), was performed by a very professional and caring therapist named Kristianna. She expertly loosened every tension I had (and I had A LOT!), all the while being very mindful and respectful of my boundaries. (Ress spa, if you're reading this, you should probably give her a raise, just sayin'.) Afterwards, I got a heated robe, and got to relax in their lounge, while being served tea, sparkling water, nuts, and fruits, before it was time for sauna and rasul. Ress spa is worth the price, and I highly recommend it! -Beate

Beautiful location. Rooms are clean, comfortable, adequate. Great views overlooking water. Two restaurants, breakfast included. This hotel is huge. Restaurants have VERY limited space to accommodate the number of guests. Breakfast is especially congested around 7. Food is adequate in both restaurants. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Nice fitness room and free do-it-yourself laundry room, including detergent. Express cycle wash takes 1 hour. The dryer is very slow to dry clothes. Construction is occurring on the water view side, not affiliated with the hotel. If out of the room all day, this is not an issue, otherwise, you will hear the bulldozer all day. Sheep are in view right outside the window. Wi-Fi is excellent, as is cell service all over the islands.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. It was booked for me through Green Gate travel company. The room was nice and the view was amazing, but it is a steep 30 minute walk to downtown with no close public transit or grocery stores. For a hotel that is so far north, I would expect it to have good black out curtains to block out the sunlight for sleeping during summer, but the sun shines brightly through the curtains which made it difficult to sleep. Also, Green Gate told me the hotel restaurant would have vegan options, but they only had one vegetarian dish, no vegan menu items. I went to the store to buy some groceries and discovered my refrigerator did not work. The receptionist said she put in a work order but it was friday night and the maintenance worker did not work on the weekend and monday was a holiday. When I asked about my refrigerator on tuesday the receptionist said the maintenance worker went in to look at it, but left no notes on the progress and my refrigerator still did not work. They had been letting me use the kitchen fridge but that was obviously an inconvenience to go to the bar kitchen every time I needed one of my items. Conversly, one morning there was a miscommunication on what time the tour company would pick me up. I tried calling the tour company in the morning after waiting in the lobby for 40 minutes but no one answered. I called Green Gate and they said they would call the tour company and call me back but they never did. Tired of waiting over an hour at this point, I explained the situation to the receptionist and asked her to call me in my room if the tour bus showed up. She ended up being the only helpful person and went above and beyond to help me. She was able to get ahold of the tour company and clarified the time for me. I certainly didn't expect her to do that for me but I was grateful. Also, the gym was pretty great. Well equipped with a lot of weight machines, dumb bells, kettle bells, squat rack and cardio machines

Wonderful hotel. The interiors were gorgeous, very well designed. The spa was lovely, one of the best spa experiences I've ever had. Most of all the hotel staff really went above and beyond. Friendly, professional and proactive, offering help and advice. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. Looking forward to visiting again.

On the windswept cliff above Torshavn. Nice bar, nice rooms, very long walk to most rooms. Nice spa as well.

We had a great and relaxing stay at Hotel Føroyar! We bought a massage before, in their Resspa, which was a great experience, definetly can reccomend. And upon check in we got a late check out, I am assuming because we where there at low season. The brunch was delicious, so many options and well made.

Loved our stay in this hotel. Location: This hotel is NOT in downtown Torshavn (where all the restaurants, shops, groceries are). It is on the hillside, about 4 kms from the harbor. There are no shops or restaurants near the hotel. But since we had a car, none of those were our requirements and knew that going in. What does it have? * Modern looks, cozy feeling * Spacious, sound proof rooms: initially, I wasn't happy with our room - it was a junior suite, VERY FAR from the lobby. But we made it work - shortcuts etc. (sshh - patio door to get groceries and luggage in and out!). And the junior suite - has a kitchenette. * Good staff; helpful bartenders: I got milk for my daughter every night from them!) * Free washer/dryer: mountain area = crazy car drives; unlimited hiking; getting dirty; smelly clothes/socks; throw ups; spilling food. You name it! This was a life-saver! * Breakfast buffet: AWESOME spread. By the bar and 2 levels in the restaurant. Never had to wait during our stay. Multi-cultural waiters/waitresses. Food was awesome. Filled our water bottles and daughter's milk everyday. Nice views of the harbor. * Ample self-parking space: We parked right outside our room. :-) After our day drive, we would drive down to the harbor - park the car (free after 6pm); take in the sights; have dinner (recommend reservations); do some grocery for next day; drive back. There were horses and sheep roaming near our room - kids loved it. Sunset was after 10pm. Definitely recommend for those who don't want to be 'in the action' but 'near the action'.

Nice hotel with beautiful views over town. A bit old fashion however. The location is isolated, out of town. If you stay there, it is important to have a car otherwise it will be a long long hilly walk to the city.

An incredible hotel with many amenities. I also stayed in their annex portion, which I also recommend. You will not be disappointed here.

Amazing views from this hotel from its hillside setting. Very helpful desk staff. A 25 minute walk into town but plenty of taxis around.
