This gym itself has fantastic facilities and equipment, the staff is friendly. The reason for my lower star rating is that I feel this membership is not the value I initially signed up for. When I first joined it was under the premise I would be receiving free unlimited classes (like yoga and other group fitness). When corona shut the gym down they charged me for a full month when they were open for 15 days of that month. Then when they finally opened again, did not charge a prorated credit. They charged me for another full month. Hence I paid a months membership fee for 15 days and this gym is not cheap. I pay the same price for the gym as when I was receiving unlimited classes to now be offered classes in which I have to pay to reserve a spot. Ridiculous. The gym membership price should be knocked down since they no longer offer the same services. When I asked why I was charged a full month I was told they would be going out of business if they didn’t as they are new. So fit being a new business justifies straight up stealing my money? For what they currently offer with corona this gym should be substantially cheaper than what they’re charging people.

State-of-the-art equipment and friendly staff, but go at peak hours and it's jam packed. It's been open for less than a week and I couldn't even get on a bench a few days. I've never waited in line to use an incline bench before. This is a first. Only one leg press as well - I have yet to find it available. I don't blame them since it's a business, they want as many members as they can get, but to pay 3 times as much as any other gym and not be able to get on the equipment I want is asking too much. Non peak hours is a little better, but not always feasible. Too bad, because I really wanted to like this gym.

So, as a member I was very disappointed at this new location. First of all, I have to say that I really like Fit, so this review is directed to this specific location. Parking: to my surprise, the gym has no parking. Being located in a busy area, you would imagine it has, but it doesn’t. When I asked the associate if it was something Fit was working on, I was informed that, at the moment, there’s no plan to implement parking or validation system, and I could use street parking or pay $10/hour for the valet. He also told me this gym was projected for hotel guests and people who live in the neighborhood. Also, looks like they were in a hurry to open the place. Different than what happens when you walk into East Village or Mission, you don’t feel like you are in a premium gym. I get that every location is different, but this one doesn’t look finished. There’s construction dust in the floors and windows. And construction tapes around sauna doors. Even the sink in the women’s locker room looks crooked. On the bright side, the gym is well equipped and the bike room looks amazing. In summary, is a nice gym. But it does not represent the brand well in comparison to their other locations.

Best gym in Downtown/Little Italy by far. The cleanliness, professionalism of staff, and available equipment was top notch. Even though this is a gym loved by man locals, as evident in the morning crew members, this gym was perfect for an out-of-towner like myself. Special ahoutout to Bella, Fit Athletic Club & Gyms #1 employee in my book! Not only was she knowledgeable, her professionalism far exceeded expectations. Easy 5 star experience the past 2 days coming to this location. Looking forward to returning real soon.

I can hardly believe these guys close at 7pm. The gym itself is very good so 5 stars there but the hours are laughable. 9pm during the week when my sister and I don't even get in there or want to get in there until that time

Beautiful facility, really clean, everything’s great. It’s busy at usual times like most gyms. One huge complaint though. The music playing through the entire space is way too loud. I have a hard time focusing. Can’t hear myself think. If I’m listening to my own music on AirPods I have to crank the volume to drown out the house music or Rita Ora playing around me. It really makes the place a lot less enjoyable and relaxing. If you take a yoga class in the upstairs yoga studio you can still hear the music outside and it’s super distracting. Like, just turn it down. Your gym will still be young, sexy, and cool.

It’s a great gym, one of the best but a few things... Steam room in the men’s locker room feels cheap, plastic materials, not a huge fan of the LED lights, you should have the ability to turn them off..materials and aesthetics do not match up with everything else..like the showers...which are great 👍 Hours imo should be extended...It would be a dream if certain locations were 24 hours because sometimes you really have that kind of energy at night Would be great to have 24 access to the sauna and steam/gym facilities My favorite location is Mission Beach mostly because it’s at the BEACH and you can literally get out of the sauna, run to the water and take a cold plunge in the ocean less than 60 seconds 🤔I think a cool addition to the sauna and steam room would be a cold shower..like much colder (40F-50F) I just feel like the water that doesn’t come out of the regular showers is cold enough 😂 I still think being a member of this gym is an incredible value

Great upscale gym. Love the outdoor training area and gym layout. The sauna and steam room are essentials with the added towel service, makes training intensely that much more enjoyable afterwards. I had the pleasure and warm welcoming from their service manager Eli Palma. Exceptional service and very friendly. I’d recommend this location to anyone in the area! Thank you for making my time here in San Diego that much more enjoyable!

The Management is the worst. In 6 months, this 3rd management but whoever comes, its getting worse. And steam room never works while sauna is too tiny to have more than 3 persons. Working Hours ridiculous...

I started going to this gym as soon as I moved to San Diego. The biggest selling point is that I can walk there so it was a no-brainer to sign up. The walk through and sign up was seamless. While the membership fee is high, the facility and convenience are worth the cost. Even when the gym feels busy, I’m seldom waiting for a machine with four separate cable machines and ample floor space to use free weights. The sauna is excellent, and the outdoor space makes it feel super luxurious. I’ve enjoyed going to this gym so much, feels like a treat each time.

During the initial tour provided by one of their employees, I was shown the gym facilities, including the pool, and instructed on how to use it. Unfortunately, it has come to my attention that the pool has been closed for the past month due to construction. Having worked in various Architectural firms, I understand the importance of notifying affected parties well in advance of construction projects. It seems that the information given during the tour was misleading, and the pool closure was not properly communicated. I am giving two stars due to unclear policies and a gym that was clean.

This gym is great. The Little Italy location is brand new and there's everything from power racks to brand new high-tech cardio equipment. The outdoor area on the roof is great for a summer workout. The staff are amazing as well, especially Kevin who was super friendly and got us up and running in no time.

They (management) completely value protecting their image over their members comfort in the gym. One of their cleaning ladies in the evening shift was aggressively yelling at me as I was changing for days on end, at closing time. I would say nothing and quickly put my clothes on and leave as soon as I could (only leaving 1 to 3 minutes after closing time). Finally one day she was yelling for 5 minutes about cleaning the locker room when it was just her and I in there, and she yelled at me as always to leave when it hit 9 pm. I still said nothing and continued putting my clothes on, readying myself to leave… she got the front desk people and complained to them as it was only 1 minute past closing time. When I told them how frustrated I was about her treatment I’ve been receiving, they only backed her up, and my membership was cancelled the following day. This should have never been acceptable to be treated this way by any employee of theirs and I thought they would have more concern for how a member was being treated than why the employee was upset since it was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable.

By far the best facility around. This location is mint from the staff, to the equipment, to the facility itself. From the Sales team, specially Mitchell Ruiz, who has never forgotten my face, to management, to the trainers, by far the nicest and most knowledgeable staff in the business today. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Fit Athletic Club to anyone. I am certainly satisfied thus far and have been blown away by my experience at this facility

Awesome gym, super clean and the equipment is new and well kept. People are polite and are just there to workout. They offer great trainers if you need one. And they have multiple classes if tjat is your thing. Gym uses the hotel pool. Monthly membership is around 120. Great gym, highly recommend.

This club is Equinox quality minus the higher cost. It's got everything you need, from strength, weight training and tons of cardio choices. Lots of innovatively-designed machines and equipment that are hugely flexible and can adapt to a multiple range of fitness goals. Great pool and an outdoor training area. Professional trainers, incredible locker rooms, lots of food choices (from Urban Taste) and a really super-nice, professional helpful staff. Best gym in the city by far.

Finding a new gym is hard. Finding an awesome, well-maintained and ventilated facility —in addition to an amazing staff—during a global pandemic is even harder. Fit - Little Italy somehow managed to accomplish just that. The gym is nestled on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle of Little Italy, San Diego, located near Luma Apartments and adjacent to Carte Hotel. One of the newest additions to the Fit family, the Little Italy branch boasts two-floors of spacious workout areas, a pool and jacuzzi and an outdoor workout area. Over the last few weeks, Fit - Little Italy has quickly become one of my favorite gyms of all time, and definitely fits the perfect definition of a neighborhood gym. The community takes care of the equipment, like re-racking and wiping down equipments after each use. What seems like a simple and polite etiquette behavior somehow feels lost at other gyms. Additionally, you can see the cleaning staff making their rounds every so often to do a deep clean. Major shout out to Eli, Dylan, Jordan, Kiana and countless others for making what can be a scary and nerve reckoning experience—you know, like finding a brand new gym—a seamless and pleasant experience. Solid 5/5.

Gym facility is great. Pool and hot tub are constantly filthy, they don’t have anyone clean it out so there’s hair, dirt, and mold covering the bottom/sides. Have mentioned to staff of gym and hotel several times, nothing done :(

FIT has the best gyms not only in SD, but some of the best I've been to anywhere. They have state of the art equipment, and they do a nice job of keeping it from being packed so you can get a great workout in without waits for equipment. The staff is also very friendly, I feel like they do a great job of looking out for people and giving them the best experience possible. I would highly recommend for anyone that prioritizes their health and fitness.

I scheduled a tour two weeks in advance and made myself available for the tour guides schedule and when I arrived at my given appointment time the two men at the front told me that the guy that was supposed to tour me left and the guy he had covering for him “just went on break”... I stayed around for a while until I was frustrated enough to leave and no one even cared.

Good gym. Staff is very nice, equipment is well-maintained. There are a lot of misc benefits, events, etc. that are cool. Only negatives: the size is smaller than I was expecting given the price and I can corroborate other reviews that the music can be insanely loud. I normally wouldn't be bothered by it, but there are times where it is competing with music from my IEM Bose earphones with active noise cancelling with the volume jacked up. It is seriously that loud sometimes. This has been a longtime complaint from what I can see so I doubt it is something they are interested in changing.

Fit Athletic Gym offers an exceptional fitness environment with great machines and equipment. But the real gem here is Emma at the front desk. Her friendly demeanor enhances the gym experience, adding a personal touch that sets this place apart. Truly a 5-star gym - highly recommended!

Did a day pass - amazing place for all of the above with exercise, health, etccc but seriously I couldn't believe the hours. 7pm on weekends?? 9pm during the week!!? At least 10pm would make sense. But again great setup, professional, all around great except for the deal breaker hours for me and seriously anyone who needs a night workout.

Fit is fantastic!! Expensive but worth it if you go. The downside to Little Italy Fit it there is no parking. So if you go daily and have to find and pay for parking it just isn't worth it... I will stick to east village or mission beach

I [actually] ran this 5 years ago with one of my best friends right before our finals at Cal. I wanted to take cool pictures with all of the crazy costume-wearing drunkards (but didn't want to haul around a purse or backpack with me), so I brought one of those disposal cams and shoved it down the back of my sports bra.

Fit Athletic is by far the best gym I have ever been a member of. All of the equipment is brand new and always kept in top shape. Everything in the gym is very clean and there are hand sanitizer stations and anti-germ wipes everywhere. The gym itself is spacious, has multiple levels, several classy group exercise studios and three large turf areas for functional training (including one that is outside on the roof and has a great view of downtown Little Italy). This is all in addition to over 75 of the newest cardio machines on the market and a wide range of Pure Strength plate loaded machines, Technogym weight-stack equipment, and custom Fit dumbbells and barbells that you would expect at a gym. The club has an upbeat vibe and is always playing lively music to get you through your workout. Members can frequently be seen conversing with each other, networking, and having a great time. The locker rooms are decorated nicely, have a steam room and sauna and even have their own relaxing playlist of music. Fit members also have access to the luxurious Carte hotel rooftop pool and hot tub. Lastly, the staff is super friendly, the personal trainers and group exercise instructors are extremely knowledgeable and everyone who works at the club is approachable and helpful if you have any questions. I highly recommend joining Fit if you're looking for a new gym to enhance your life - you won't regret it!

5+ stars! Fit is everything you could dream of in a luxury gym and more! Top of the line equipment, knowledgeable and experienced personal trainers, clean facility, full towel service, sauna and steam rooms, the best shower and lotion products, heated salt water pool and jacuzzi, delicious prepped meals, and hundreds of group classes weekly. Rachel Barrington is a seriously amazing instructor for chiseled and spin as is Kinnie, Jorge, and Tabu for Yoga. I highly recommend!

This new FIT has everything you'd ever want! Friendly staff, vallet parking if you dont live in the area, big, beautiful, brand new space in the heart of Little Italy and the most gorgeous roof top pool and hot tub! I took a Power Chakra Flow yoga class with the awesome Crystal R. and it was the perfect balance between stretching, yoga philosophy, slow mindful movement, standing poses, sitting poses, arm balances and then Yoga Nidra at the end. I left feeling refreshed physically, mentally and emotionally. Thank you!!!!

Gianni provided terrible customer service. Wanted to try a free pass to gym with my buddy who’s trying to convince me to switch from my month to month with 24. Gianni did a great job making me feel like I’m some gym-pass leech trying to (god forbid) lift the weights at Fit Little Italy for a change vs my usual 24 Fitness. I was genuinely likely to sign up - but now it’s just weird and feels personal.

I love being in walking distance to such a nice gym! They have everything we need there, in a boutique styled but spacious city location. The monthly rates aren't cheap, but still much more competitive pricing than an Equinox!

Since their opening in January 2020, I've joined Fit Little Italy on two (2) occasions (decided to cancel during the second COVID shutdown), so I'd consider myself to be knowledgeable about the gym. Nevertheless, despite me being a member at different times, my experience has always been the same, which is welcoming and heads above the competition. One of the greatest strengths of the gym is its amazing staff. No matter the position, everyone at Fit routinely greets you with a smile and workout towel from your immediate entrance to your sweaty exit. I always feel like I have a genuine support group that push me to keep coming back so I can meet my personal fitness goals. One staff member in particular that I'd like to shout out is Marissa at the front desk. Marissa goes out of her way to help address any questions I have about workout classes, equipment, and registering for personal trainer sessions! She's always eager to help and ensure that I have all the support I need to have a great workout. I'm really thankful for my "Fit Family."
