We had a booking for Saturday evening, and I'm glad we did as it was very busy. We got 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 dessert and 2 cocktails for 1630NOK (£130). Everything was delicious, but the reindeer stake was one of the best things I've ever eaten. So much flavour! The restaurant is very cosy and the staff is lovely. Definitely recommend!

Ordered their burger and indeed, it was absolutely nice. Norwegian food is salty in general hence I had to tell them to not any additional salt. The beef patty has salt added, but it was tasty. Highly recommended!

Super cute restaurant with a downstairs casual bar. We were walk-ins and didn't have a reservation but I would recommend it especially with the summer tourism. The interior was eclectic with fun lamp shades and a bookstore feel. The food was outstanding. The chicken dish with couscous was comfort food with a new twist. Crispy skin but not too heavy. The halibut was also delicious. Light and flaky with a delicious sauce. I would definitely eat here again! Service was also great!

One of the best lunches I’ve ever had. The seafood tasted so amazing. I got the Mussels and the fish of the day which was the salmon and it was delicious. Everything tasted so fresh and the sauce of the mussels was one of the best sauces, hints of rosemary and very creamy. Everything paired very well together. I also got a Norwegian beer and it tasted very good, had a flowery taste to it.

Fantastic small restaurant in the centre of Tromso. Excellent food, beautifully presented. We had the reindeer steak and the halibut, followed by the stout pudding. We could not fault the service or the food, and would happily recommend to anyone looking for somewhere for a special meal

I got the mushroom toast - absolutely delicious. Haven't had anything like it, clearly the chefs know what they're doing. For dessert, I got the apple pie, which was almost deconstructed. The blend of flavours was unexpected and refreshing. 11/10

Very good quality food and superb service. The alcohol is expensive but that's expected when drinking in Norway. The reindeer meat is highly recommended (if it's on the menu).

Greetings from Australia! One of the best restaurant meals I’ve ever had in my life. Every bite was an explosion of flavour for both the reindeer steak and chocolate fondant. Coupled with a glass of red and a cosy atmosphere, this place is an absolute gem! Staff were also so friendly and personable. Thank you so much! 🥰

Everything we tasted at Bardus Bistro was exquisite!! Before getting to the food, the staff were absolutely amazing, welcoming and attentive. The food was just fantastic. The starters are much larger than expected but both the mussels and the cured salmon were delicious. For mains we went for the haddock and the reindeer steak. Both melted in the mouth and left us wanting for more. I would definitely recommend a visit here.

Thoroughly recommend this small bistro for Norwegian food. We tried getting a table as a walk in but was full,so booked a table for two on our last day in Tromso. What a amazing meal. We had mussels and cured salmon for starters, reindeer steak and salted fish for mains, followed by stout cake for dessert. Perfect before our Chasing the Northern lights excursion in evening - the aurora was dancing for us - how lucky we were to eat here and see the lights.

One of the best meals i’ve had so far in Tromsø! I had the mushroom toast & reindeer steak and it was amazing! Also the dessert was delicious. Nice ambience and service too :)

Went here for my second visit recently - previous was before covid - and I am pleased to say my positive memories were reinforced. Very tasty food, super friendly service and an overall great atmosphere. Only food gripe is I would have liked another food option or two - perhaps sides, or more varied starter options. I love the books as a decor choice :)

Cozy place with really good service. Meals are a bit expensive but really worth it in my opinion. It was delicious. Highly recommend.

100% Recommendable. Very nice and cozy restaurant downtown Tromsø. The staff was super friendly and the food amazing. We all took the soup of the day and the fish of the day. The dishes are nicely presented and could not have asked for more taste wise.

Got the moose meatballs, mussels, bistro smash burger, and shellfish soup. The soup was very flavorful and delicious. Mussels were great as well. The meatballs were good too, but could've used a bit more spices in there for more flavor. The burger is where they really lost points here. My smash burger was dripping in so much grease. The buns were absolutely soaked in it. I took a few bites and had to give up. The waiter did forget to bring us bread with the soup and tried to pass them off as "just came out of the oven, however they were pretty cold and ovviosuly she just forgot to give them to us.

A quaint and cozy locale with competent servers and overall good food. The Moscow mule was fine though it was served in a glass and not a copper mug. They also had to virtue signal and change it's name on the menu to a Kyiv mule which I find absolute idiotic. The duck breast was overall good though the vegetables were not my most favorite. The deserts were fine, with the Bavarian tart being the better of the ones I got.

One of cosiest restaurants in all of Tromsø, if not the cosiest! Eating locally sourced fresh arctic fish is more than just a necessity in Tromsø, it’s practically a bucket list activity. Japan imports this fish to use in their high end sushi for a reason! And yet despite this, it’s not as easy to come across as you might think, with the majority of such establishments that serve it around the city verging on fine dining in both atmosphere and price. Bradus is the perfect middle ground. It is by no means cheap but is still very accessible, and its incredibly friendly staff, warm and cosy interior, and beautifully crafted dishes will leave you wanting to go back for a second visit. I ate the steamed halibut, after a lovely starter of cured salmon. Both were exceptional, and were complimented with a lovely selection of quirky vegetables, appealing colours, and most importantly, contrasting flavours. My partner could not eat fish and so settled on lamb ribs, which to our surprise was so good that it may even have trumped the fish! The house red and deserts were excellent too. This is the first place I would recommend to anybody who had just one evening in the city. But be sure to book earlier in the day is it fills up fast!

Great place for dinner! For lunch the menu will be limited to the fish of the day/soup of the day and few other items. Nonetheless the food and drinks were great and the upstairs area was nice and cozy.

We had much better experience with reindeer meat here and it was cooked with near perfection. The side mushrooms that came with it are really nice and the creamy mussels are quite good. If you wish to try local cuisine, here is quite a good place to try. The service here is attentive and very good.

You can’t miss this amazing restaurant in Tromsø. Everything is very good. Friendly and attentive staff, delicious food. I’m not a seafood fan but the mussels and steamed halibut I had are super delicious and nicely presented.

The northern Norwegian reflection of the traditional bistro concept, very good food at normal prices for Norway (which is extremely expensive overall; around 200-250 NOK / meal). They have a nice veranda in an interior backyard, secluded from the street noise, best place to enjoy your meal in the summer months. Glutenfree friendly. Not so many vegetarian varieties, fish might be the best alternative in Norway.

We visited twice, both for lunch and dinner as the menu is different for those occasions. Photo below is from reindeer and lamb from the dinner card. Flavors bonded well with each other and the lamb came with Jerusalem artichoke puree, which was sensational. Would definitely recommend visiting!

Chef should have a Michelin star, its that good. Mushroom toast is out of this world as is the beef. Customer service is also top notch. Arctic Seaweed Cocktail is a must.

Absolutely delicious reindeer venison dish with cauliflower puree, winter vegetables, and a beautiful gravy. Good service and a comfortable dining room, in one of the older buildings in Tromso (I think). Very happy to recommend this place

Excellent. The best restaurant we have eaten at in Tromsø. The service was really welcoming, the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the food was excellent. We especially liked the halibut, the fish was just so tender. A really lovely meal. Thank you.

I first came for the dinner menu and ordered the cod. The dish was bright and bursting with flavor. I especially enjoyed the pickled celery, such an interesting detail! The food was so good and the lunch menu looked even better so I booked a table the next day for lunch. I had the beet and pork belly. I especially loved the beet. Textures and flavors were well thought out. For desert I had the best sherbet I’ve ever had! Everything was delicious and I really enjoyed talking with the front of house staff. I wasn’t rushed and they had excellent recommendations.

Reindeer for appetizer and reindeer steak were very good. They are one of the best I ever had in Norway. Mussel is fresh but it is not the best I ever tried; the creamy soup is quite OK.

The reindeer was tasty and the ambience felt homelike and fancy at the same time. The cod was a a disappointment so skip that. When we went there was no catch of the day which is sad so maybe next time. Our server was really nice and put up with our American questions. Be sure to make a reservation cus tromso is hoppin. Everywhere is booked and it’s hard to get a table including this place. They also have some local craft beer.

👍 Had an amazing fish soup as an appetizer and fish and chips for main! The soup was really good, I am definitely taking that fish soup as my main course when I visit next time! They had a lot of steak options too, but I was definitely in for the best cod you can get part of Norway!

😐 Average pizza, very dry on the edges. Calzones had way too much cheese and not much flavour. The coke tasted like it’s been watered down. The place is spacious and don’t need to reserve in advance. Needed to wait nearly an hour for a pizza and a calzone, though the place was not even half full. It s...
