I was shocked! My visit here was amazing. I went with my family and didn’t expect it to be big. The staff was very nice and helpful. We felt very welcomed. Will definitely come back to see what else they have added!

If you are in T or C you have to go to this museum!! Has so much history from the conquista and Oñate coming to new mexico. To why the name of this little town. Has bones from a mammoth and rock from all over new mexico. Book that talk abou the treasures of Francisco Villa and the Spaniards as well. Very cool experience. A lot of this stuff was donated by locals and has a little piece of their hearts. Stop by and support the locals.

I asked the staff how long it would take (we had to check out of the hotel in an hour). "...do you want the honest answer?" "sure" "2-3 days". After spending my hour there I have come to agree that to really read and understand this museum would take more than a day. I think I got ~10% of it. An exceptional value at <$10 entry.

This is a larger than it looks, small town historical museum. It is not pet friendly. Jasper the Adventure Dog is my trained service dog. The history of Truth or Consequences is well displayed with numerous other interesting items.

This is a fine local museum that has been building its collection for 50 years. Much larger than it appears from the outside, it ranges from sophisticated displays covering the entire history of the region; to collections of Native pottery and artifacts; to recent community history. At a price tag of only $5, this is a must stop visit on your trip to ToC.

What an amazing curation of history! The cost was $5/person and we spent a good hour and a half wandering through the museum, and could have easily doubled that time with the amount of items to look at and stories to read through. For a small town the collection, largely pieced together and donated by the community, is very impressive. I also really enjoyed the gentlemen working at the front counter. His whole demeanor was such a great energy to experience and we enjoyed a nice conversation with him before we left.

This is a great little museum! I was surprised by all the ancient Native American pottery. The pottery is dated 1000-1350 AD. They have huge cases filled with it. There's also a log cabin and, of course, an area dedicated to how the town got its name. All well worth the very reasonable entrance fee.

Must see! This is a small but really thorough local museum.

Little museum. Thought the whole premise would be Geronimo. But there is only one small area dedicated to him. Kind of a mix mash of everything. Gems, homesteading, pottery, Geronimo, history of T or C. Not a bad little place to go to for $5. The women who was working there was super friendly and helpful.

$6 admission. Plan on 1 hour. Local history museum. Really neat complete & original 1800s cabin filled with era-appropriate artifacts, building of the Elephant Butte Dam, local mineral springs history, lots of pottery, cowboys & homesteaders, Geronimo, minerals. They cover a lot of categories in a compact building. Worth the stop.

Small collection of western, geological, Indian stuff. $6/person a little steep for what you get, but we killed 30 minutes here before check-in time at our motel.

I visited this museum while on vacation last year in New Mexico. My friend and I spent an hour or so looking at all the exhibits. The museum is surprisingly expansive and they have many artifacts and informative displays. This is a must visit place for tourists visiting the area to learn more about the history of this region of New Mexico. The staff member at the museum also was very nice and gave additional information on the museum. I enjoyed my visit a lot.

Came here for the first time. It's small but definitely worth the visit. I love all the Indian pottery and the display of how a cabin would have looked years ago.

Great history of the area and local memorabilia. Much larger than it appears from outside or the website. Plus had a group family rate for $15 for all of us.

My husband loves museums of any kind. This one has a good history of many things that have made Truth or Consequences more than a dot on the map. It was only $5 per person (we're both over 60) and we were there for over an hour! There is just room after room of history! The huge murals hanging on the wall are gorgeous!

Great experience. We have then going to T or C for many years and this is a first for us. Staff was very helpful explaining about the hot springs and the museum will require another visit to absorb it all

If you're interested in the history of the area, this is the place to go. There are so many interesting exhibits about the geographical history as well as the more recent town history.
