一度参拝してみたかった出羽三山神社にやって来た。昨年京都の寺院巡りをしてから比叡山延暦寺、身延山久遠寺、久能山東照宮を巡りついにこの地にやって来た。ここは羽黒山随神門前。古より修験道を中心とした山岳信仰の場として信仰をあつめてきた出羽三山。羽黒山を「現在」、月山を、「過去」湯殿山を「未来」と位置づける三山を巡めぐることは、死と再生を辿たどる「生まれかわりの旅」といわれています。
天地金神社は、随神門右手前にあり門前之宮とも言われまずはここからお参りしていきましょう。更に門手前には「手拝石」がありこの石は、この奇岩を通し天を祀ったもので、その昔修験者の行法を行った石と思われると案内板にありました。羽黒山の標高は414mあり、その参道は随神門から国宝の五重塔の前を通り、2446段の石段の上に本堂が鎮座しています。随神門をくぐり参道に入ると、ピーンと張り詰めた空気に変わったと感じられることでしょう。まずは敷き詰められた石畳の階段を継子坂といい余裕の下り坂です。車での本堂参拝も出来ますが、パワー

京都の伏見稲荷大社で1276段であった。参道沿いには、樹齢400年を
越す大杉の中を歩みを進める、すがすがしさよりもこの石段を敷き詰めた寄進者と製作者の苦労の方が頭が下がる。これが山頂まで1.7km続き、この参道を、新たに生まれ出るための産道とも言われる道なのです。ここは二の坂茶屋随神門からここまで19分経過し、ほぼ中間地点といって良い場所であり、ほとんどの人はここで休息をとっていた。そういえば石段には33個の彫り物（絵）が刻まれていて、すべて探せば大願成就出来ると言われていたがすっかり忘れてしまった。さあ後半戦も頑張ろうと老体に鞭打ちつつ進むことにしたが、ここからが山頂まで長く辛かったが、羽黒山中興の祖、50代別当天宥が1648年から足かけ13年の
歳月をかけて敷設したって人間のなせる技じゃ無いね。9:54 丁度40分で登ってこれた。山頂の出羽三山神社に到着。出羽三山神社は、月山神社、羽黒山神社、湯殿山神社の三神が合祭された三神合祭参集殿であり、主神祭は伊氐波神・稲倉魂命で、近世の出羽三山詣では、羽黒山
から入り、月山で死とよみがえりの修行を行い、湯殿山で再生する巡礼が多く行われ、生まれ変わり（死と再生）の意味をもった「三関三渡」の旅とされました。社殿の中央には月山神社、右に出羽神社、左に湯殿山神社が祀られ三神合祭殿と呼ばれており日本最大の茅葺屋根の社殿で日本でも極めて珍しい合祭殿のパワースポットです。茅葺の鐘楼は、国宝五重塔に次ぐ古さを誇ります。社務所内に移動、すると木造の山伏がありその幟には「出羽三山生まれ変わりの願いを込めた山塩」出羽三山の奥の院とされる湯殿山のふもと、朝日地域で温泉を濃縮した「山塩」作が進んでいる。三山信仰が盛んだった明治期まで六十里越街道の茶屋で製造されたという伝説も残り、関係者は「山塩でむらおこしを」と、鼻息荒いって宣伝だったのか。2446段の石段を登られた最高齢番付なるものがあった。東西横綱は93才であり75才以上で無いとここに記載さ
れない。最後は鏡池。羽黒山の山頂にあるこの鏡池自体が、ご神体とされますが、蓮の葉で覆い隠され水面を見ることが出来なかった。帰り道修行僧とすれ違った。皆さん、今度は同じ段数を下ることになりケガをしないように注意をしましょう。
